Worst Disney Princesses

Which one is the most conceited, selfish, ugly, horrible, self-centered princess?
The Top Ten
1 Aurora Aurora is a fictional character from the popular Disney Film, Sleeping Beauty and the 2015 Live Action Release, Maleficent. She is commonly known as Sleeping Beauty and is one of the group Disney Princesses. She is a unique Disney Princess as in her film, Sleeping Beauty, she has a total of 18 minutes of screen time and 18 lines (excluding the song she sings, Once Upon a Dream), unlike the other Disney... read more

I do get why people like Aurora. She's optimistic, kind, and loving - but she's definitely not one of my favorites. I'm not trying to disrespect anyone who likes her, because they do have good reasons for it. But I don't like her because for three reasons-
1. She is very bland. And people say Pocahontas is bland! Aurora has no personality other than being a complete Mary Sue.
2. She has no character development. She starts out as being a kind, sweet, innocent girl. What does she end with? A kind, sweet, innocent girl. Correct me if I'm wrong, because I haven't seen Sleeping Beauty in forever, but she has no character development whatsoever.
3. She does very little in her movie. If I am correct, Aurora has EIGHTEEN LINES. And she's the main character! All she really does is sing about her prince.
She did have great potential in her movie - she actually handled the situation where she had to leave the forest and go to the castle. She could've easily ran away, but she chose to took the responsibility of being the princess. That's pretty strong, if you ask me. Maybe if Aurora had more personality, if she had character development, and if she did a little more in her movie, I'd like her. Once again, I see why people like her. But this is my personal opinion, and I am not trying to disrespect your opinion at all if you like her. These are just my reasons on why she's not a good Disney Princess compared to the others. Heck, the only ones I care about are Mulan, Pocahontas, Tiana, Belle, Moana, and Merida. But I can understand why you all like the others I don't care for, and it's great you can love and appreciate them while I can't. Thank you for reading this comment.

2 Ariel Princess Ariel is a fictional character and the title character of Walt Disney Pictures' 28th animated film The Little Mermaid.

Ariel is definitely the worst. She has no respect for her family and is only 16 years old when she decides to leave everything for a man she has never met in a foreign land. She signs a contract with a person who she knows to have done terrible things to her kingdom, which sacrifices her voice, family, friends and home for a man who ends up being seduced by someone else! Her decision was so bad she almost got her father killed and, after he saves the day, he sees her off and nobody even cares about what just happened to him or how it will effect his life. She faces no consequences and still gets what she wants that caused all the trouble in the first place. The worst!

If you've seen the third movie, you'd know that Ariel just selfish because, like in the original, she ran away crying cause she didn't get what she wanted. Sure it was to bring music back but no need to do the same thing again honey, and over a guy. Just face the facts that humans killed your mother, yet you fall in love with one. But apparently he's beautiful and handsome and worth saving. But what I'm complaining about is the fact that she is literally using her appearance to try and woo him which is terrible to teach kids. She changed everything about herself to try and get someone to fall in love with her by using her appearance. Sure it's a good movie that I love, but sends a terrible message.

3 Merida Princess Merida is a fictional character from Pixar's first ever Disney Princess film, Brave. She is a talented archer who wishes that she were not destined to become the Elegant Queen of Dun Broch. She is forced into a marriage betrothal by her mother, with whom she has a very negative relationship. Merida is known as the first Disney Princess to be against the typical standards set for Princesses... read more

"It's not fair! "
Well, princess, not everything is fair. This girl is so pathetic. I mean she just doesn't want to marry a prince. Fine. I don't blame her, but that doesn't mean you shouldn't get all emotional. It's literally her entire fault her mom even got turned into a bear. War could've happened. Her mother could've ended up dead. She was so obsessed with herself. She's like a teenager or something and yet she can't think of a better way to reason with her mother and explain herself. If she was seven years old, that could be an excuse but she's not. She's about sixteen or seventeen.
I do have to give her credit for being so...athletic. She also inspires people to reach for their dreams, but one thing should always be remembered: Don't be as self centered as Merida and listen to your parents little children.

God. She's basically Mulan and Katness Everdeen put together but her hair is red and curly. Merida is also boring. She should be number one. And I don't mind that Snow White is number one, she is my favorite Disney princess, but I don't mind. But there is one stupid reason why she is number one, Her voice. Come on people! Think about the personality! Don't hate her because of her vocals! Hate her for a GOOD reason!

4 Snow White Snow White is a fictional character from Disney's first ever film, Snow White and the Seven Dwarves . She is Disney's first ever Disney Princess and is the only Disney Princess to have her own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame .

I don't dislike any of the princesses, but Snow White has to be my least favourite. All the princesses are meant to be role models and she doesn't set a good example at all. Wait for someone to save you and take food from dodgy looking strangers. I know it's because that's one of her flaws - she's really naive and gullible and I understand that, but she's very passive and just sits around waiting for someone to save her. The dwarves's cottage was in the middle of nowhere, the Prince wouldn't have found her there if he hadn't heard that she got poisoned by the apple. Also I don't like her voice. It's far too squeaky. She also acts like Little Miss Innocent all the time which comes off as contrived. I'm not saying she's a terrible character, but she is not top 10 worthy in my book.

Stop insulting Disney princesses! I admit that Snow White isn't one of my favourite Disney princess, she one of the last ones but I don't hate her. She is very kind and optimistic. She is naive but she is still very young and she didn't go anywhere until 14,she stayed just in the palace and cleaning, doing chores. I apreciate Snow White because no matter what happened she remains optimistic, hopeful, kind and she always smiles. How much people would do that?

5 Cinderella Princess Cinderella is a fictional character who appears in Walt Disney Pictures' 12th animated feature film Cinderella and its sequels Cinderella II: Dreams Come True and Cinderella III: A Twist in Time.

Cinderella is my favorite Disney princess! I'm personally offended by all the haters who trash talk about her! Why she is even on the list?!

I get it, many of the haters just condemn her as "weak", "passive" and that she "only relies on a prince to save her", but NONE of these are true. Yes, she may not be actively a badass woman such as Belle, Jasmine or Mulan, but she is nevertheless very strong, as she managed to endure all the pain and misery her stepfamily inflict on her while remaining kind and optimistic, only breaking down when her stepsisters tear her dress. It's these qualities I mentioned (her kindness and optimism) that makes me admire her even more.

Also, what's wrong with being traditionally feminine, and doing stuff like cleaning and cooking? There are women who are perfectly fine doing these, and these things do not make them weak. Also, there is nothing wrong for women to sometimes rely on a man, as while they can be independent, having a man helping them from time to time does not make them weak.

Also, her reason for her to go to the ball wasn't because of the prince - it was so she could spend one night being free, since it's a luxury she didn't get at home. The sequels only enhance the good qualities she already had in the first film, which is why it comes off as less surprising to the audience.

6 Belle Belle is a fictional character who appears in Walt Disney Pictures' 30th animated feature film Beauty and the Beast (1991) and in the live action remake Beauty and the Beast (2017). Belle is the intelligent and selfless young daughter of an inventor who does not conform to the normal ways of her small minded village.

I can't stand her. Belle walks around her town singing a dumb song about how "provincial" it all is, and how "bored" she is with her surroundings. Honestly, who cares how bored you are? If you're THAT BORED, why don't you get up off of your butt, read fewer "stories about disguised princes and daring sword fights," and, you know, ACTUALLY... go SEEK that adventure you claim you want to have? Because who goes around an GIVES people an adventure like it was a McDonald's order? Belle sounds like she just put in a McDonald's order for a Big Mac "with a side of adventure fries." Uh-huh. And then, after Belle GETS said adventure involving "the prince in disguise that she supposedly LOVED reading about," she turns wimpy, weepy, nosy, and when standing in front of an angry mob--- pretty much a betrayer. Yes. I said it. Belle betrays the beast/prince by giving away his face with that magic mirror, and tipping off his location to Gaston ( her stalker). I still wonder to this day, why Belle did ...more

She may be kind and selfless but she's by far, the laziest princess ever. All she does is read. Snow White and Cinderella were forced to work under their Stepmother. And they worked hard for their efforts. Ariel wanted to learn about different cultures on land, Jasmine fought for her independence, Mulan saved China. What does Belle do? Read. Fairytales. Yeah, that's REALLY smart. She did save her father, but if that had never happened, she would have no life at all. All the other Princesses did something to move forward. Belle is extremely overrated. She does not deserve all the praise.

Belle acts so superior towards other people. I can't fathom why. She thinks she's so smart? Then why is she reading the same fairy-tale day after day? I get that it's her favorite, but what else are you doing with your life, Belle? Her fans shower her with attributes she does not have. Gaston is wrong. Belle is not the most beautiful girl in town. The Bimbettes and Babette Fifi look a whole lot prettier, and Belle looks...just average. Belle is not particularly kind nor noticeably nice to Lumiere, Cogsworth, Beast, Mrs. Potts, or Chip. She doesn't go out of her way to do things for them. And I dislike how she's expecting so much from everyone else around her, while she herself is contributing so little ( for example, she's awfully dependent on her father's invention to make her life spontaneously better? ) Belle is one of the laziest princesses. She is not a go-getter, and she's boring.

Has it ever occurred to anyone that she is amazing princess? She is actually very humble and innocent. Actually just a thought, but had it ever occurred to anyone that she lives in the outskirts of her 'little town' because she and her father are outcasts. Different from all the rest of the townspeople. The people call her unusual, odd. And she is and she is proud of it. Girls in the town throw themselves at Gaston like he's the last man on Earth, but she doesn't care. She wants independence. She wants to make the most of life. She READS while other girls do the trivial everyday tasks that are usually housework. She wants to break the chain, be different, find love without being forced into it. (*cough* Gaston *cough*). She fell in love with the beast for the person within him, not for his looks. She rescued her father. For goodness sake she stood up to the townspeople. Can Belle get credit for that? She's outgoing, brave, innocent, daring. So yeah. End of argument.

7 Pocahontas Pocahontas is a title character in Disney's 33rd animated feature film Pocahontas, and its direct-to-video sequel Pocahontas II: Journey to a New World.

Pocahontas is a beautiful disney film and princess. She saved the life of a strangers just to make peace with the foreigners. Also to save the life of the man whom she loved. She was a brave and truly courageous young woman.

She looks ugly and does a lot of stupid things in the movie!
She has big ugly lips and her hair is too straight.
She is not pretty.
She went for two guys and put her village in danger!
She is arrogant and annoying. I dislike her a lot!

I love her so much and I think that she is brave, adventureous, and lovebale. People hates her because she is Indian... HUUUh learn about culture people. Imagine you were Indian and you read about India being insulted... some people are so mean...Note: I am not Indian but I love India

Pocahontas. She is one of the 3 princess to be a racial representative. Same with Mulan and Tiana. I think they don't deserve to be here. MULAN: SHE LEAVES HER FAMILY LIKE ARIEL: Well, I respect that but Mulan left for a good cause, Saving her country. Well,Ariel left for a man. Tiana: she is so greedy just for a restaurant. Well, I also respect you but Tiana herself works so hard to earn money and to make her dream come true.

8 Jasmine She is a fictional character who appears in Walt Disney Animation Studios' 31st animated feature film Aladdin (1992).

Honestly, I feel that this character is a terrible influence on kids; she's suppose to be 15 or 16 years old, and she tries Seduce a what, 40-60 year old man? To save the world no doubt, a woman has to sell her body... Really? Unfortunately, this is how the story is told.

There also seems to be a misconception of equality; while there is an element present to fight for one's own voice, the "I am not a prize to be one," she controls all of the guys:
1) They're like "I didn't say anything princess, it was him" lolXD
2) Her father easily changes the laws, it was never really a problem, just a daddy-daughter thing, where the dad gives in yet again.
3) As previously mentioned, as a teenager she controls an on man though sex.

We already know that women are strong people, I want to be on equal terms with women, and not have to take a submissive role; however, this type of character and scenario has yet to be analyzed thoroughly, and in the future, we might find ...more

I hate the movie Aladdin...but I hate Jasmine more! What a terrible person she is, while the people in her kingdom struggle, children are going hungry this privileged whiny brat sooks because she has duties and hasn't done anything on her own. Awful human being, she is the worst princess in my opinion. To me the greatest Disney female is Esmeralda! Hey jasmine try being Esmeralda, who lives on the streets and everyday faces social and racial discrimination but still tries to better the world and fight for equality in her film. Jasmine sucks!

I have some good news, and bad news.
So, as a kid, I was never sure on weather I liked Jasmine or not, but now she's definitely one of my least favorite Disney princesses. Now, I'm not 100% blaming HER for this, but I wish the creators could have giving her much more depth. I mean yeah, they tried to make her seem more independent, and strong willed, and speak against arranged marriage, but that still doesn't give an excuse that in the end, she STILL gets rescued by the guy.
She still ends up being the damsel in distress.
And she complains to her father that she hasn't done anything on her own. Okay, but she ISN'T doing ANYTHING. I'm not saying I hate hate her, but I wish she could have been given as much screen time as Aladdin(like elsa given as much screen time as Anna).
But the GOOD news is, there's an Aladdin live action remake coming in 2019. So I'm interested in seeing if This new Jasmine might be a more thought out character, as well as a smarter, thinker, instead ...more

Jasmine is one of my favorite princesses. Why?. that's's becsause she has a really strong character. She is bossy, but also kind, beautiful, lovely voice, brave. She is a perfect princess. I mean Alaaddin is one of the most hit Disney movies. The movie is a fantastic one with the story of the lamp and magic carpet and the cave of wonders. Not forgeting the best Disney princess song (for me) A WHOLE NEW WORLD. It is special because Aladdin sings with her on the flying magic carpet... And I think a whole new world is way more better than Let it go.

9 Tiana Princess Tiana of Maldonia is a fictional main character who appears in Walt Disney Pictures' 49th animated feature film The Princess and the Frog.

Why the he'll is she on this list!? She worked hard for her spot unlike those other stupid Disney princesses who just got their Prince charming with looks. Tiana is my most FAVE Disney princess, she doesn't deserve to be here! She is a and independent woman who followed her dream and worked hard throughout her life! THOSE other Disney princesses all had the same dream, "To marry a Prince Tiana never thought of marrying a Prince before, until she met one, but she didn't drool over him unlike other Disney princesses, she put in his place and showed that she makes her choices and that she wasn't put on this planet to be some guys trophy. Tiana is a true role model and she was also the first black Disney princess! THOSE WHO think that she is terrible, you're MAD!

Why is Tiana even on this list!? She shows young girls that you have to work for what you want, and it will not just fall right on to your lap, unlike most Disney princesses seem to think. Personally she is one of my favorite princesses.

I love Tiana I do not think she should be on this list! She is very hard working! And there are lots of moments when I almost cried in the movie. And definitely when ray the fire fly dies.

Tiana is not so bad as the rest of the mary-sues here. At least she teaches that you have to do some effort to get where you are instead of being prissy and girly and having good looks.

10 Mulan Fa Mulan, a character inspired by an actual historic figure is a character who appears in Walt Disney Pictures' 36th animated feature film Mulan, as well as its sequel Mulan II.

Okay I love Mulan so much, and she saved a country (China). So why do people hate her... Is it because she is Chinese... I am wondering why but I am guessing its because of the beauty.. OKAY..so.. I mean... why in the world do people love queen Elsa more than Mulan are you kidding me. Ill tell you why people loves Elsa more its just because she is beautiful and has magical ice power... Mulan deserves way more than being treated in that way... So cry a river build a bridge get over it

She is so clumsy ad stupid!
She poured hot tea on a poor woman when she set her on fire and used the fan to blow the fire. No, the Woman HATES her guts!
I also hate her. It is SUPER easy to honor your family and also stay back from war. But at least she saved her Dad's life!

Mulan is awesome. She's not insanely stupid like everyone else on this list. She saved a whole country! And what did the others do? Elsa almost killed her sister and froze Arendelle to death, Ariel abandoned her family for a guy she didn't know, and Jasmine is a bad influense on kids. Get yourself together.

Why the heck is Mulan on here!?! I mean she took over her father's place in the army because he was very I'll and old. AND SHE SAVED China FOR GOODNESS SAKES! SHE SAVED AN ENTIRE COUNTRY! And who cares if she isn't a princess, does she have to be? NO! She at least worked hard and fought for her country and family. While other princesses are finding the perfect sized shoes, eating a rotten apple, and sleeping for one hundred years. Mulan is amazing and a pure hearted woman who doesn't deserve all the negativity from all of you guys!

The Contenders
11 Moana Moana is the protagonist of Disney's 2016 animated feature film of the same name. Born on the island village of Motunui, Moana is the daughter of Chief Tui and Sina, with an inherited love for the seas and voyaging. When her island becomes endangered, Moana is chosen by the ocean to journey across the sea to save both her people and the world.

I love Moana! I haven't seen the movie, but the trailers have told me enough. She's supposed to show kids that princesses can come from anywhere, which is something that Disney has been paying attention to lately. I think she is beautiful and can't wait for the movie to come out!

I hate her so much. She is so selfish!
I hate her!
She is ugly!
She hurt Maui to bring some stupid gem back!
She is so annoying
She makes people feel and look bad
She is the worst Disney princess ever!

What the heck! Moana risked her life to save her island and find Maui! She shouldn't be on this list! That's stupid!

Moana isn't bad... BUT... My problem is she is too much like the recent Disney princesses, quirky and awkward. Try something diffrent Disney... I feel like she didn't have any charter delvopmemt

12 Rapunzel Rapunzel is a fictional character who appears in Walt Disney Animation Studios' 50th animated feature film Tangled, and its short sequel Tangled Ever After. She is the tenth Disney Princess, the first Disney Princess to be CGI-animated, and the first Disney Princess to have freckles or green eyes.

Hear me out for a second, I don't hate Rapunzel. I like her a lot actually, but there is only so much I can take of her before I get a little annoyed. There are times when she gets to be too nice or too loving and it just makes me roll my eyes. I love how she has spunk, but so do many of the other princesses. I feel like because she was the first cgi 3d princess, that makes her best of the best. Also, people say she has the worst life of them all, she doesn't. Elsa had to live in fear for her whole life, Cinderella was a slave since she was what, 5? Merida was forced to be something she isn't but still followed the rules, Aurora found she was a princess after living who knows how many years in a small cottage. Okay I'm done ranting

. I am so irritated about Elsa being better to people more than Rapunzel... I mean... Elsa has white boring hair... I mean she is a queen or a princess or whatever she is, but why white hair, is it because she is very old? I Mean Rapunzel has blonde golden long hair...People these days are insane with Queen Elsa which is an idiot thing to do. And by the way Rapunzel's long blonde glowing hair is much more graceful than ice out of hand... so duuuhhh.

Rapunzel is great would you blame her if you were stuck in a tower for seventeen years never even getting to step A FOOT out of you boring old tower? And if she hadn't she wouldn't be reunited with her REAL parents! Would you blame her if you were her? I wouldn't

I terribly hate this list. I think Rapunzel is way much better than Anna or Elsa! She isn't a spoilt brat, hard worker, charms people and most of all, she made Eugene feel like a better person than he was and made him get back a good reputation.
