NO WAY it is gorgeous Georgia is the most Psycho country No intelligence whatsoever and never go to a doctor or you will never get well! Georgians are primitive retards. Seriously will Never go back!

It needs to join Albania to have a stable government. At least Albanians know how to govern, Kosovo has so many ethnic problems still. If Kosovo Albanian portions (99% of the country) and the Serb portion (1%) go to Albania and Serbia then the problem will be solved and that will be that.

For money job and education it is the worst place to live in, but for everything else it's one of the best places to live in.

They eat people

3 Ukraine Ukraine is a country in Eastern Europe. It is the second-largest European country, covering approximately 600,000 square kilometres (230,000 sq mi), and has a population of around 40 million people. It is bordered by Russia to the east and northeast; by Belarus to the north; by Poland, Slovakia, and Hungary to the west; and by Romania and Moldova to the southwest; with a coastline along the Black Sea and the Sea of Azov to the south and southeast, respectively. Kyiv is Ukraine's capital as well as its largest city. The country's language is Ukrainian, and many people are also fluent in Russian.

The poorest country in Europe, becuase it was couped by terrorists. Law means nothing there, only money and weapon. All the media who's not agree with government are going to prison or being killed by radicals and government pretends not seeing this. The Country is still hanging by a thread only because of debts from other countries. All the people from opposition are called russian agents. So many people are just afraid to say what they think.

The poorest and most dangerous country in Europe.

Brainwashed idiots in whole country.

Russia wants to take it

5 Albania Albania is a southeastern European country that is slightly larger than Maryland and near Montenegro, Kosovo, Republic of Macedonia, and Greece. The capital is a city called Tirana. Some other major cities in Albania are Durrës, Elbasan, Vlorë, and Shkodër. Albania gained its independence in 1912. Many different languages are spoken but the official language is Albanian. They also speak Italian, Greek, French, German, and English. The population is currently 2,897,400 people (254 per square mile). Most Albanian people are Muslim but some are Christian. Albania is mostly farmland and is known to have beautiful beaches.

I think Moldova should be first. They need to join romania to survive and kosovo needs to join Albania. But again, how is Albania number 2? In belarus you have a crazy dictator, Ukraine has a pretty much a civil war, And Bosnia is just poor.Albania is top10 percent for human development index and number 37 out of 193 for life expectancy, higher than poland, slovakia and czech republic and a bunch of other european countries. Also Albania is number 13 in happy planet index. How does this add up to number 2?

Albania is a good country, but trash and plumbing along with roads remains a problem. I am Albanian-American and I love Albania. Albanians are not religious, and the country is small and cozy. I have not seen one violent crime yet, and the beaches are great. These stereotypical posts comes from Serbs and Greeks with their endless barrage of hate speech. Visit Albania and see for yourself. Saranda, Korce, Tirana, and Vlora are all great places to experience.

Albania is a country that is trying to achieve a Greater Albania.

By having Albanian settle in Kosovo, Macedonia and Greece. They are breeding like rabbits and then trying to claim independence with the stupid west calling them freedom fighters.

The Muslims of Europe and the worst place to live in. A bad place with thieves everywhere and as they know that their country is one of the worst and poorest in Europe the move on other countries such as Greece, Italy etc

Yes that is true, there in Italy, people are very racist.

It's so hard as a black or Arabic to find a good job, homes and it seems that because you are not Italian, you have to struggle for anything.

Italians don't hesitate to show their hates, specially when you are foreigner. I was tired of the racism in Italy.

I call all migrants to come here in Italy to make change things.

We will succeed, because there is a lot to do here anywhere Italians are so lazy and inefficient.

Corruption is elevated at the art level in italy. The whole country is inhabited by lazy, ugly stinging savages, that makes the country itself a sort of hell. nothing is working properly, and it looks to a visitor to be in a underdeveloped third world country, while in reality you just need to cross the border and you find yourself in wonderful clean France or in perfect Switzerland. incredible!

Yes Exactly! Its Mafia Beggar People are ready there to steal your money from your pocket and etc also they talk on your back! But the women there are wonderful! Italy for me I view it as a 3 most sexual active country in Europe also as well indeed!

Beautiful country to visit for vacations, BUT only if if you live and earn money in another country.
A huge amount of Bulgarians are now living abroad - for better education, job prospects, health care, elderly care, children care etc etc...
Bulgaria is the one of the most corrupted countries in Europe(Transparency international), it has extremely corrupted "politicians" and judicial system. It has one of the most corrupted and lowest freedoms of press in the European Union, and it ranks 106 in the world - worst than countries like Togo, Panama, Kosovo, Bolivia, Uganda... etc. (2015 World Press Freedom Index by Reporters without borders).
Health and elderly care is extremely underfunded. Hospital conditions are horrible, emergency service are extremely unreliable, elderly care funded by the government treats the old people like trash. The only way to get adequate and faster help is to go to private clinics, doctors, etc.
Education is still very out-dated, "communistic ...more

I voted here cause I'm Bulgarian :D Actually it's not so bad here, there are many worse countries to live in Europe like Moldova, Macedonia, Albania, Belarus, Bosnia etc... but that doesn't mean here is good. From 1 to 10 here is maybe 5.

Not the worst, but not the best. There are better places to live like Bosnia Slovenia or Croatia.

Awful. Just awful. As a Bulgarian I think 8th place is way too low for this country.

8 Russia Russia, or the Russian Federation (RF), is a transcontinental country spanning Eastern Europe and Northern Asia. It is the largest country in the world by area, covering over 17,125,191 square kilometres (6,612,073 sq mi), and encompassing one-eighth of Earth's inhabitable landmass. Russia is rightfully in the top 10. Many (not all) Russians are brainwashed and hateful. Also, Russia has to stop it with all the wars and land grabbing. We're not living in the Middle Ages! Gaining more land does NOT make you a better and more powerful country anymore!

Low salaries, insane corruption, extensive propaganda, high poverty rate, awful infrastructure in rural areas, aggresive actions in foreign policy, raising taxes, lowering pension age, government doing everything to take as much money as possible. Should I say more?

The high crime rate, the Crimea case, the South Ossetian case, the alcoholism rate, the low life expectancy of the citizens (especially males), the violence rate, and its communism history put me off about Russia.

Russia has high violence rate, violent people, racism problems, crooked government, men who still beats their wives, and harsh cold weather.

9 Slovakia

Fake history, rude people, terrible disastrous gastronomy.

Like a black and white T.V... dark and sad...! How come a country has sooo horrible food?

Bad attitude, bad education, corruption...

I spent in slovakia 2 years... Nice nature.. but the worst people you can meet ever

10 Poland Poland, officially the Republic of Poland, is a country in Central Europe, bordered by Germany to the west; the Czech Republic and Slovakia to the south; Ukraine and Belarus to the east; and the Baltic Sea, Kaliningrad Oblast (a Russian exclave) and Lithuania to the north. I was trapped there for a few years. With some exceptions, most Poles are full of of every negative personality trait you can think of; arrogant, ignorant, dishonest, shallow, greedy, narrow minded, racist, etc. If you have to move there from a civilized country (or a a place where the people, in general, are not complete asses) my sympathies.

I never really saw anything wrong with Poland apart from schools. I heard that there is LOADS of homework and you need to carry dozens of books in your backpack. Apart from that Poland is majestic in a realistic way.

I actually lived there for a few years and I'm still traumatized by it. So, imagine a country full of the most negative, dishonest, racist, arrogant, humorless, lame-ass, people you've ever met. Welcome to Poland.

So, I am Polish girl and I want to leave Poland, people don't tolerate me and thinks that I eat cats and I am bad person :P, I live in small village in eastern Poland and it's really horrible, I don't have friends.

The Contenders
11 Serbia Serbia, officially the Republic of Serbia, is a landlocked country in Southeastern and Central Europe, situated at the crossroads of the Pannonian Plain and the Balkans. It shares land borders with Hungary to the north, Romania to the northeast, Bulgaria to the southeast, North Macedonia to the south, Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina to the west, and Montenegro to the southwest, and claiming a border with Albania through the disputed territory of Kosovo. Serbia with Kosovo has about 8.6 million inhabitants. Its capital Belgrade is also the largest city.

Poor? Corrupt? Racist? So why would anyone in their right mind want to go there? They're also extremely religious, so they'll discriminate anyone who's not Orthodox. Personal experince.

Haha Serbia is most known for Russia arse licking! While all the other countries are brave, only Serbia and Belarus are licking Russia arse!

Serbia is simbol of pride, freedom and is not arse licking nation as most of you are.
That is reason no many like us, BUT WE DON'T CARE

Duh! Serbia is only an Albania hater.

Let me say something: I'm from Greece, I've grown up in Greece, an I definitely love my country. I'm proud to be greek, and I totally mean it. our country is beautiful -more than so many others. People might be strange, sometimes illiterate or rude, seeming not to care about anything, but we support each other, just because we're greeks, all of us. We're united, and we'll always be. The politicians are some useless idiots who don't really want to help their country, but that's not our fault. There are many homeless people, everybody can admit that, but it's not, by all means, one of the worst countries in Europe to live in. I think it is the best one, and I can know more than any of you living in the US or anywhere else. It's great, Greece is amazing. You can hate it as much as you want, or say any bull you fancy. Dislike my comment, I don't care, but we, all greeks, love our country. What if we're poor? We're greeks. And that's all that matters.

It's really shocking to see how brainwashed some people are.. My girlfriend is greek, we've been there together many times and honestly it's not even close to what I expected to see from the medias. Not only beautiful country, but also great people and for god's shake, peace. Nothing scary. I wouldn't mind living there and I come from another European country, Belgium.

Are you kidding me? Greece is wonderful! The place is the most beautiful in the world, way better than the rich countries that you think the're good. The people are very friedly and peaceful. Just because the goverment is the worst, it doesn't mean that Greece sucks! There's not enough money, yes.. but beauty isn't alaways where money are! Wake up people and think before you speak. Don't listen to everybody telling whatever they want you to believe.

Greeks are scum. Rascist and Fascist and selfish to all immigrants. If you are an immigrant never move to Greece. Once you move to Greece, you are considered a Greek and your homeland is no longer your homeland. And let's not forget Golden Dawn a Neo-Nazist terrorist party whom Greek support their ridiculous fascist ideas.

13 Hungary Hungary is a sovereign state in Europe. It is situated in the Carpathian Basin and is bordered by Slovakia to the north, Romania to the east, Serbia to the south, Croatia to the southwest, Slovenia to the west, Austria to the northwest, and Ukraine to the northeast.

Pretty horrible people...In the whole area Romania and Greece are the only normal countries...The rest is horrible don't even bother visit

Worst country ever! Hungary is full with hateful racist pity people. Don't visit that place if you want good.

I like to live here. We have some problems with politics, education and economy but don't believe the news we are like a normal european country until they wanna take our rights and freedom of speech.

Joel is a dweeb

14 France France, officially the French Republic, is a sovereign state comprising territory in western Europe and several overseas regions and territories. The European part of France, called metropolitan France, extends from the Mediterranean Sea to the English Channel and the North Sea, and from the Rhine to the Atlantic Ocean. France spans 675,000 km2 (251,000 mi2) and has a total population of 67 million (data from 2017). ...read more.

We cannot agree that France even in this list, we are no living here for more than 7 years.
And we have lived in more than 12 countries (5 in Europe) and visited much many.

French are among the kindest people I have ever met and France one of the most beautiful and peaceful country I have ever visited, and even lived in.

The food is amazing, and even though there is an attitude of being somewhat cool, this country is friendly and welcoming, and does not deserve to appear in this list.

Also, French people have a sense of fashion. The accent, food and attitude of the people, along with the various monuments to visit are all factors which contribute to the fact that France is great, and is a country one must visit in his lifetime.

An extremely arrogant, stubborn, racist, self-centered, stuck-up, rude, hygienically deficient, fanatical, annoying, atrocious food, an ugly and sad lot.
Historically brutal colonists, presently continue to torture ex-colonies. Continues to conduct atmospheric nuclear bomb tests in the South Pacific, despite U.N. condemnation, even the U.S. doesn't do this!

Very rude, racist, disgusting language, and bad attitude... I know these stuffs because I visited France once and it was the worst decision in my life.

I'm living in france and I will be honest: This place is awful to live! Too expensive, peoples are rude, bad government.

Stay away from it!

15 Macedonia North Macedonia is a landlocked southeastern European country. It borders Greece to the south, Albania to the west, Bulgaria to the east, and Serbia and Kosovo to the north. It has a population of over 2 million people which are a mixture of Macedonians, Albanians, and Serbians. Macedonian is the official language of the country. North Macedonia has many beautiful forests, lakes, and old structures. The capital city is Skopje.

Macedonia is a wonderful country. Unfortunately the world doesn't want to recognized this great civilization. From Alexander the Great, the spread of Christianity, The creation for the Cyrillic alphabet. It is unfortunate the Greeks have stolen most of Macedonia's history only because most of if its rich history is from the land the Greeks have conquered in 1913. When you conquer someones land it does not mean their history is now Greek.

I'm from Macedonia and I can say the people are rude and they all think there better than you. The country is broke and run down and I don't think it will ever recover.

Beauthiful country for visiting and living there. Cheap food and great predispositions for tourism.

You're pathetic, not Macedonia.

16 Turkey Turkey, officially the Republic of Turkey, is a transcontinental country in Eurasia, mainly in Anatolia in Western Asia, with a smaller portion on the Balkan peninsula in Southeast Europe. MOST beautiful, elegant country and culture in the world. mountains, lakes, tasteful architecture, oceans everywhere. This country is heaven naturally speaking. It is more stunning than New Zealand but with an elegant culture and stunning architecture built into Nature it is the most beautiful place on Earth with the most classy people.Only the Pigs from greece would vote Turkey worst. Istanbul is BY FAR the most beautiful European capital and the people are gorgeous tasteful and so kind!

The only thing that make it suck is because of Islam! They should start kickin "illegal" syrians and possibly build a wall with electricutions. And more anti-illegal laws. But that's all impossible because of a muslim "brotherhood" and possibly santions from Saudi. But at least the have fuel from Russia...

What Turkey is not part of Europe it is part of Asia.

17 England England, previously the Kingdom of England, is a constituent country of the United Kingdom along with Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.

I don't enjoy being in this country. Honestly, the weather is CRAZY in the summer. First thing it goes windy, then it rains, then its sunny, then it rains, then its windy, then its sunny and this strange thing goes on and on! Everyone at my primary school was rude, I got physically abused by a girl and I was too scared to tell anyone but my parents.

Too expensive, bad weather, cold people, very bad food, poor quality of life, bad education, slow burocacy, long waiting lists to see a doctor too many drunk people and no social life for the non drinkers. Dogs poo everywhere and lack of taste in dressing up. Long working hours, very expensive transportation. Very depressing country!

Run by a bunch of right wing overprivelaged halfwits with the combined personality of a dead haddock The population are generally Xenophobic, greasy pole climbing barely-competent, selfish, ignorant Daily Mail reading backstabbing halfwits, with the cultural understanding of a turnip. The weather is almost as depressing as the soul-less cities. Avoid.

I can honestly think of nothing of any real merit. And my family has been here since before the Normans. Poor food, barely adequate sanitation, dismal culture, dreadful weather. All exacerbated by a deeply unpleasant (and bizarrely nationalistic) population. It's a dump.

18 Scotland Scotland is a country that is part of the United Kingdom and covers the northern third of the island of Great Britain. Scotland is the most mountainous, and least densely populated country in the United Kingdom.

It's not even a real country but merely a region of England. I'll vote for it anyway.
Arguably the worst diet on the planet (fried mars bars) and alcohol, drug abuse are more comparable with Russia than anywhere else in Western Europe.
Throw in the propensity for violence and primitive religious fundamentalism too.

Dear God, I have never been to a more miserable scary damp cold hell-hole. Makes England feel pleasant, and that's difficult. The racist, flag waving, xenophobic dour, violent, dumpy population are the best thing about it. Run away.

Scotland is not a region of England dumbasses,

Whilst it is part of UK, that doesn't mean that Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland, or Isle of Man are regions of England. If Scotland is considered just a region, then England is also just a region.

I doubt very much that Scotland is one of the worst countries in Europe. I've been there twice and loved the mood and excitement of the Scots. The only problem is the religious question.

19 Croatia Croatia, officially the Republic of Croatia (independence since 1991), is a sovereign state at the crossroads of Central Europe, Southeast Europe, and the Mediterranean. Nice nature and beautiful locations. Let down by the corrupt government and a background of nationalist rhetoric stopping it from progressing.

20 Romania Romania is a sovereign state located in Southeastern Europe It borders the Black Sea, Bulgaria, Ukraine, Hungary, Serbia, and Moldova. It has an area of 238,391 square kilometres and a temperate-continental climate. With over 19 million inhabitants, the country is the seventh-most-populous member state of the European Union. Its capital and largest city, Bucharest, is the sixth-largest city in the EU, with 1,883,425 inhabitants as of 2011. Romania derives from the Latin romanus, meaning "citizen of Rome". The first known use of the appellation was attested in the 16th century by Italian humanists travelling in Transylvania, Moldavia, and Wallachia

The best place in the area, steady ecomomy and politics. Safe places to go to and enjoy, no terrorists, no bombs, Romanians are pretty calm as people, most people would help if you get lost, doesn't seem like an ex communist country at all...I guess the latin part of Romanians really shows up on their characters. Warm place, it worth visiting. But nationalist place, Romanian love their country so be careful what you say when you walk Romanian roads.

They hate hungarians, russians and actually everyone they ever met. I have been to Bucharest once - since that I am waiting for the local police's report in the cause of my stolen car- for sure wouldn't spend one more day there in my life. Adreal or how they call that part is kinda beautiful but don't try to cross the Carpathian basin./I came from Norway

I'm actually hungarian but I live in Romania. I think that nothing goes well here... Problems with money, jobs, education, goverment. It's full of romas, and neither the Romanian, hungarian and the romas society are in good terms. Probably one of the worst European countries.

Come see our museum of the Middle Ages. We call it "Romania". ~Conan O'Brien.

There is plenty of Romanian romas begging here in the streets of Helsinki and collecting bottles. The question is, if they live a better life by begging and collecting bottles in a country far far away, then what kind of country is their country of origin?

21 Sweden Sweden, officially the Kingdom of Sweden, is a Scandinavian country in Northern Europe. It borders Norway to the west and Finland to the east, and is connected to Denmark in the southwest by a bridge-tunnel across the Öresund. At 450,295 square kilometers (173,860 sq mi), Sweden is the third-largest country in the European Union by area, with a total population of 10 million.

A dull boring country full of antisocial people. The worst part is that there is absolutely nothing to do there. Sweden is obviously one of the worst countries in Europe and the world to live in.

How isn't Sweden in the list? , a country ruined by feminazis and psudoliberal people, a country when a man can't pay for sex but a woman can kill her child, what kind of logic is that? , I can't believe Sweden is not on the list.

To be honest the amount of neonazis, right wing people and all the terror attacks, I wouldn't feel safe living here
