Top Ten Worst Grunge Bands

These Grunge Bands are awful..... I`m excluding post- grunge bands. So bands like Puddle of Mudd will not be on this list.
The Top Ten
1 Nickelback Nickelback is a Canadian post-grunge band formed in 1995 in Hanna, Alberta, Canada. The band is composed of guitarist and lead vocalist Chad Kroeger, guitarist, keyboardist and backing vocalist Ryan Peake, bassist Mike Kroeger, and drummer Daniel Adair.

They are literally the worst band ever. And Fred Kreuger looks like a hillbilly hopped up on meth.

Nickelback isn't grunge they are Post Grunge

2 Stone Temple Pilots Stone Temple Pilots is an alternative rock band formed in San Diego, CA in 1989.

The band currently consists of brothers Dean and Robert DeLeo (guitarist and bassist, respectively), and Eric Kretz (drummer). Their main vocalist from their formation up to 2013 was Scott Weiland. He was fired in 2013 and for a short time was replaced by Linkin Park vocalist Chester Bennington, who left to focus on Linkin Park in 2015. Scott Weiland was found dead on his tour bus in Minnesota before his band The Wildabouts was set to play.

The bands original sound was characterized as grunge, and further releases showed a turn towards psychedelic rock and classic rock. ...read more.

Damn looks like we got quite a awful Grunge list here. I don't think I need to go on because SwagFlicks and Swellow would already sum up most of my points anyway.

You don't know anything about grunge outside of Pearl Jam and Nirvana, do you?

I'm sorry, but most of these bands aren't grunge and ain't that bad.

Poor man's Nirvana mixed in with wannabe Alice in Chains.

3 Silverchair Silverchair were an Australian rock band, which formed in 1992 as Innocent Criminals in Merewether, Newcastle with the line-up of Ben Gillies on drums, Daniel Johns on vocals and guitars, and Chris Joannou on bass guitar.

Pretty self explanatory.

Silverchair is great.

4 Bush Bush are a British post-grunge/alternative rock band formed in London, England in 1992. The band found their immediate success with the release of their debut album Sixteen Stone in 1994, which is certified 6× multi-platinum by the RIAA.

Their not that great for a Grunge band.

5 Audioslave Audioslave was an American rock supergroup formed in Los Angeles, California, in 2001 and disbanded in 2007. The four-piece band consisted of then-former Soundgarden lead singer/rhythm guitarist Chris Cornell, and then-former Rage Against the Machine members Tom Morello, Tim Commerford, and Brad Wilk.

Chris Cornell is better in Soundgarden.

6 Nirvana Nirvana was an American grunge band that was formed in Aberdeen, Washington in 1987. Nirvana disbanded after Kurt Cobain committed suicide in 1994. The drummer of the band, David Grohl, went on to start the Foo-Fighters, an alternative rock band.

They suck. The guitar is repetitive and also sucks, the lyrics are truly horrible, the drums are bad, and the vocals are horrendous. I don't think I've ever heard worse vocals in my whole life. He put no emotion into his singing and no pride in his work. They were trash, and I don't care for them at all.
The death of decent people is a sad occasion, and Kurt was no exception.
That doesn't change the fact that Nirvana sucked.

Good but overrated.

7 Candlebox

The rest of the bands on this list are pretty decent. There just aren't many bad bands from the grunge era to put on a list like this so as a result we see a lot of... pretty good bands on here.

Mediocre for Grunge standards.

Only one I agree on

8 Pearl Jam Pearl Jam is a grunge/alternative rock Band formed in Seattle, Washington in 1990. The band had comprised of Eddie Vedder, Mike McCready, Stone Gossard and Jeff Ament. ...read more.
9 Air Supply

A soft rock duo, not grunge.

The band was formed in 1991 by vocalist Brandon Boyd, lead guitarist Mike Einziger, and drummer Jose Pasillas while enrolled in Calabasas High School and later expanded to include bassist Alex "Dirk Lance" Katunich, and Gavin "DJ Lyfe" Koppell; both of whom were eventually replaced by bassist Ben Kenney and DJ Kilmore respectively.

This is a nu metal band not a grunge band.

Just downright awful!

The Contenders
11 Mudhoney Mudhoney is an American grunge band. Formed in Seattle, Washington in 1988 following the demise of Green River, Mudhoney's members are singer and rhythm guitarist Mark Arm, lead guitarist Steve Turner, bassist Guy Maddison and drummer Dan Peters.

Just awful music. Get pandered to in the press due to the singer's friendship with Kurt Cobain. Try listening to one of their albums. You won't get through 2 songs.

Why does this band exist? I will never know.

12 Hole Hole was an American alternative rock band that formed in Los Angeles, California in 1989 by singer and guitarist Courtney Love and lead guitarist Eric Erlandson.

After Kurt's unfortunate death in 1994 of April 5th, people decided to turn the gun on his wife, Courtney Love. I wouldn't say she killed him, or at least did it intentionally, but I've heard her music. She didn't kill Kurt, but damn, after hearing her music, I would be much obliged to say she did.

13 Mother Love Bone Mother Love Bone was an American alternative rock band that formed in Seattle, Washington, in 1987. The band was active from 1987 to 1990. Frontman Andrew Wood's personality and lyrics helped to catapult the group to the top of the burgeoning late 1980s/early 1990s Seattle music scene.

Their not that great to be honest.
