Top 10 Worst Hair Metal/Glam Metal SongsHair Metal or sometimes often called Glam Metal, is a subgenre of Rock that has poppy elements and cheesy lyrics. Not a genre I'm personally a fan of, and I hate the following songs. If you like any of these songs that's fine, just don't be a overdramatic prude about it.
The Top Ten
Just to remind you once again, what was called Hair/Glam Metal is not metal at all. These songs are nowhere near metal. Hair/Glam Metal was one of first examples to use the word "metal" incorrectly. Unfortunately, not the last time.
Metal musicians of the 80s (Metallica, Megadeth, Iron Maiden) hated Hair/Glam Metal, basically because it was called metal when it wasn't, and was only giving metal a bad name. - Metal_Treasure
Possibly one of the worst songs I've ever heard in my life... the lyrics are cheesy in all the wrong ways possible.
Was this song made on crack? - Swellow
Yes, this and Cherry Pie should be in the top 3. I would say Talk Dirty to Me is worse because music is poppier and cheesier while Cherry Pie at least has a more rocking feel to it. - Metal_Treasure
This song suffers from atrocious lyrics... awful vocals and mediocre instrumentation in general.
Not sure why I used to like Motley Crue... but christ this song is obnoxious in all the worst ways possible.
It has all the Glam/ Hair Metal song cliches... and does nothing else other than prove why Hair/ Glam Metal can't be taken seriously.
WHOA OH LIVIN' ON A PRAYER. I can see how that inspired Skillet's entire music career. *Rolls my eyes in disgust*
This isn't bad. And I don't think his voice sounds whiny. Not at all. And perhaps this is the best vocal performance on this list (plus vox to Here I Go Again and Welcome to the Jungle). - Metal_Treasure
This is what you get... if you have a singer that tries too hard to scream and be badass but ends up sounding like a whiny teenager instead...
A awful song... from one of the worst glam/ hair bands in existence.
A awful cover...
This is a great song
This song is honestly good and it is more hard rock than glam metal.
This song is NOT glam metal. It's heavy metal with a hint of power metal. Which explains its good instrumentation compared to the other songs on this list. - Metal_Treasure
There's no redeemable or even semi- decent qualities of this song.
It has a very good guitar solo by the guitar god George Lynch. Vocals are pretty good as well. Rhythm and speed are well sustained throughout. - Metal_Treasure
This is hard rock as we know it. Not hair or glam metal.
And I truly believe that people should start paying attention to the music and its performance and not only to the lyrics... - Metal_Treasure
I really hated it when I heard it for the first time. Whiny vocals. - Userguy44
I can't stand the vocals... and the lyrics aren't any better either.
I strongly disagree. This is a great song. Well written music and great vocals.
But it is NOT hair or glam metal. It's just a rock power ballad.
Also, lyrics are too meaningful to be hair/glam metal. Not cheesy at all. - Metal_Treasure
I'm not a fan of this song at all... it's cheesy but not in a good way.
