Worst Kidz Bop Lyric Changes

Kidz bop sucks, it just sucks. One reason is because they mess up the lyrics to make it kid friendly but fail.
The Top Ten
1 "Higher than a motherf***er" to "We're Kidz Bop and we're taking over!" - Starships by Nicki Minaj

No, your not taking over and ruining our favourite songs or ruining and destroying the music industry with your cheap and HORRENDOUS rip offs songs. This doesn't even fit in with the lyrics of this song!

What has humanity come to? My parents let me listen to explicit songs when I was 6,and now we have kids bop? Their lyrics don't even fit!

No, the only thing you're taking over is the contest for least talented music artist!

Taking out that lyric did nothing to change the meaning of the song.

2 "Like my father's come to pass." to "Like the time has come to pass." - Wake Me Up When September Ends by Green Day

There NEEDS to be a no Green Day rule. This is just a disgrace to the music industry.

3 "A different lover is not a sin" to "A different viewpoint is not a sin" - Born This Way by Lady Gaga

These are made to appease right wingers that want to shield their kids from EVERYTHING!

They literally just took the song and stripped it of all meaning.

Says the company that's censors queens, blacks, whites, etc.

4 "Hand you another drink. Drink it if you can." to "Hand you another dance. Dance it if you can." - Glad You Came by The Wanted

Besides the fact that this line makes no sense the problem with many of these changes is that the "bad" words thrown into to the song are not there by accident or anything they are the whole point of the song.

Seriously? That's not even proper grammar:

This one is beyond sarcastic commentary.

Is it an alcohol or a drink of water?

5 "I beg and borrow and steal" to "I beg and borrow and feel" - Call Me Maybe by Carly Rae Jepsen

Did this one need to be changed? At all? They censor that but allow lyrics about giving your number to strange guys.

That just sounds even more inappropriate than the original!

"I beg and borrow and feel."
Explain to me how that sentence made any sense

Pretend these kids don't have feelings okay?

6 "The boys, break their necks, (and done) try'na creep a little sneak peek, at us!" to "Boys break their necks, tryn’ to act a little crazy" - California Gurls by Katy Perry

For my animated YouTube series Android the Phone, I'm gonna cover this and make it family-friendly albeit not lazy like Kidz Bop's.

This one is just stupid. And they also took out the Snoop Dogg rap

How is that changed? Is it inappropriate?

Its practically the same

7 "Bury me til' I confess!" to "Talk to me til' I confess!" - Uma Thurman by Fall Out Boy

Kidz Bop, should Kidz Stop making songs.

8 "You're drowning" to "You're falling" - I Knew You Were Trouble by Taylor Swift

Seriously, Kidz Bop? What's wrong with the original lyric? This is one of THE most unnecessary lyric changes in the history of music.

They are both actions that can harm you.

Both can kill you!

9 "We just wanna see ya... shake that!" to "We just wanna see ya... dance that!" - Party Rock Anthem by LMFAO

That was unnecessary

How do you "dance that"?

10 "But it broke his heart, so he stuck his middle finger to the world, to the world, to the world." to "But it broke his heart, so he raised his hand and waved it to the world, to the world, to the world." - Let it Rock by Kevin Rudolf

This one is ridiculous. Why would you wave to the world that broke your heart?

The Contenders
11 "Hey! Sexy lady!" To "Hey! Hey lady!" - Gangnam Style by Psy

I understand why saying "sexy" may be problematic, but "hey" isn't the same amount of syllables, so it just comes across as really awkward. Why didn't they just go with "pretty lady"? That would've fit perfectly!

Stop repeating lyrics!

12 "And if you don't like it, f**k you" to "And if you don't like it, boo hoo" - Not Myself Tonight by Christina Aguilera

More like, "And if you don't like it, you can shut your damn mouth Kidz bop".

Get roasted by the Kidz Bop.

13 "Oh but that one night was more than just right." to "Oh but that one day was more than okay." - Drive By by Train

There's nothing wrong with doing a night. Why Kidz bop?

Okay is a massive step from just right.

14 "This woman's my destiny" to "This girl, she is my destiny" - Shut Up and Dance by Walk the Moon

Kids are girls/boys. Adults are women/men.

15 "Before I leave, brush my teeth with a bottle of Jack. 'Cause when I leave for the night, I ain't coming back" to "Before I leave, brush my teeth and then I go and pack. 'Cause when I leave for the night, I ain't coming back" - Tik Tok by Ke$ha

Why are you packing to go to a party?

Why bother with this one.

16 "My love for you went viral" to "My love for you went wild." - Drive By by Train

"My love for you went wild" actually sounds way more sexual than the original lyric...

So what? Kids watch viral videos! Why can't other viral things be explicit?

17 "If I took you home, we would be wearing hats" to "If I took you home, we would play on the mat" - Take You Home by Hoodie Ow

Kidz Bop changes every shop/ball pit/sisterhood reference in songs but keeps "flip your hair" in What Makes You Beautiful?

Because HATS. There is so much shop in that song. Why do that song, Kidz Bop?

What's wrong with the original? Am I missing something?

This edit makes no sense...

18 "I rent this sh*t like cardio" to " I rent this song like cardio" - I Like It by Cardi B

That DOESN'T make any sense whatsoever! Throwing in random words that DON'T make ANY sense just ruins the whole song and the lyrics!

Just replace it with "stuff" or something.

19 "Drunk and alone" to "Sad and alone" - New Rules by Dua Lipa

Drunk is not bad word and replacing with sad just ruins the song!

20 "And you're a tool" to "And you're a fool" - So What by Pink.

No one replaces "fool" with "tool". Sort of like with Call Me Maybe, they censor the word fool but allow lyrics about starting fights and death threats.

Why are singing about death threats?

21 "I hope when you’re in bed with her, you think of me" to "I hope when you’re out with her, you think of me" - Never Again by Kelly Clarkson

"So no one saw anything wrong with a little girl singing a song from the perspective of a scorned lover? Glad they changed this lyric. I mean, I'm fine with an 8 year old being bitter and vindictive as long as there's no bed action." -Smosh

That's not the worst but come on...

22 "Out in the club. And I'm sipping that bubb." to "Out in the club And I'm eatin' that grub." - Telephone by Lady Gaga and Beyonce

Everybody knows what you do at the club. Why even bother with this change?

23 "You're a real-life fantasy, you're a real-life fantasy" to "It's a life that's meant to be, it's a life that's meant to be" - Cake By The Ocean by DNCE

What's so bad about the original?

24 “Don’t wanna know, what kind of dress you’re wearing tonight” to “don’t wanna know, what kind of look you’re wearing tonight” - We Don’t Talk Anymore by Charlie Puth

That's doesn't make sense and original song is clean anyway. There was no need to change it.

Not only is the original not harmless at all, but how on earth does that make sense?

How does that make sense?

25 “I drank too much and that’s an issue but I’m OK” to “I talked too much and that’s an issue but I’m OK“ - Closer by the Chainsmokers

What happened? Did you lose your voice or something?

Drank is not bad word. Same with drunk and drink.
