Worst Metal Bands Live

The Top Ten
1 Marilyn Manson Marilyn Manson is an American rock band from Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Formed in 1989 by frontman Marilyn Manson and Daisy Berkowitz, the group was originally named Marilyn Manson & the Spooky Kids with their theatrical performances gathering a local cult following in the early 1990s. The name of the band comes from famous sex symbol Marilyn Monroe and famous criminal Charles Manson. Manson joined these two names together because he wanted a name combined with good (Monroe) and evil (Manson). The other members of the band have their stage names combined with the first names of famous sex symbols and the last names of famous serial killers.

He hasn't been doing so good with live performances now. Two years ago he vomited onstage because he's been performing while sounding very sick. I think it would've been best if he cancelled the shows and went home.

As if his studio vocals aren't bad enough. On the album, he sounds like he is whispering into the mic, but when he's live, he sounds like a really bad Punk-Rock singer who's high on something.

That one time he accidentally vomited onstage and was carried off, I imagined what it would've been like if Twiggy picked up the mic and finished the song they were singing.

I do like him, although I never have heard him play live, I really want to go see him though. Who knows if I do see him maybe we'll have different opinions.

2 DragonForce DragonForce are a British power metal band based in London, England. Formed in 1999, the group are known for their long and fast guitar solos, fantasy-themed lyrics, and electronic sounds in their music to add to their retro video game-influenced sound.

They can't play nearly as fast as they do on the album, and on top of that every fifth note is a mess-up. They suck live, mostly because they speed their music up...

3 Sepultura Sepultura is a Brazilian heavy metal band from Belo Horizonte. Their first album, Morbid Visions presented a proto-black metal sound with Wagner Lamounier of Sarcófago. Sepultura's sound varies by the album, from thrash metal, groove metal, and even death metal.

The new Derrick Green Sepultura is just god-awful. The Cavalera days were great. Derrick Green tries to do a death growl but it ends up sounding like a fart. Sepultura should just end now, because they aren't the same band without the Cavaleras.

4 Five Finger Death Punch Five Finger Death Punch, often shortened to Five Finger or Death Punch, also abbreviated as 5FDP or FFDP, is an American metal band from Las Vegas, Nevada. Formed in 2005, the band's name comes from the kung fu movie The Five Fingers of Death.

From what I've seen, I am not impressed one bit by this band live. They sound bad.

5 As I Lay Dying As I Lay Dying is an American metalcore band from San Diego, California. Founded in 2000 by vocalist Tim Lambesis, the establishment of the band's first full lineup, which included drummer Jordan Mancino, occurred in 2001. As I Lay Dying has released six albums, one split album, and two compilation albums.

I could never understand what Tim is saying live, it was awful.

I totally agree with ryan

6 Sodom Sodom is a German thrash metal band from Gelsenkirchen, formed in 1981. They have gone through many line-up changes, leaving bassist vocalist Tom Angelripper as the only constant member.

I saw videos of them at Wacken, the drummer kept pounding the snare over and over (which was annoying), and the vocals were not nearly as good as they used to be. Sodom is a great band though.

7 Mastodon Mastodon is an American heavy metal band from Atlanta, Georgia, formed in early 2000 and composed of bassist Troy Sanders, guitarists Brent Hinds and Bill Kelliher and drummer Brann Dailor.

I've seen them twice and was disappointed both times. Real shame, their recorded music is amazing.

With the bands debut album "Sounding the Seventh Trumpet" they started with producing metalcore music, until they changed their sound into alternate metal with the album "City of Evil".
