Worst Metal Singers

The Top Ten
1 Andy Biersack Andrew Dennis "Andy" Biersack, formerly known as Andy Six, is an American singer and pianist. He is the founder and lead vocalist for the American rock band Black Veil Brides, and is its only remaining original member.

Andy Biersack.More like Andy Ballsack. This guy has got to be the worst metal singer.Actually I take that back because Black Veil Brides are not Metal they are just some stupid Screamo band.Andy Ballsack had the whiniest voice ever. His voice has improved but not that good. His screams are horrible even Death Metal singer have better screams then that.-DarkBoi-X

More generic than bad. I honestly think that there are worse metal singers than him.

2 Fred Durst William Frederick "Fred" Durst is an American musician and film director. Durst is best known as the vocalist of the nu metal band Limp Bizkit, formed in 1994, with whom he has released six studio albums.

One of the guys who gave metal singers a bad name. Moreover, his singing style isn't metal - he's a rapper. Same for the rap metal / nu metal he sings - gave metal a bad name. For me this band isn't even metal - they play rap songs with some metal arrangements from time to time. Their songs sound like metal covers of rap songs but they are still rap. A more correct name of this subgenre would be metal rap (and not rap metal because it's not metal). Conclusion: Fred Durst isn't a metal singer.

I'm no death metal enthusiast, Fred Durst is also a bad singer... I prefer Underground 80's punk

The most white rapper of all time

3 Oli Sykes Oliver Scott "Oli" Sykes is a British musician, best known as the lead vocalist of the band Bring Me the Horizon. He also founded the apparel company Drop Dead Clothing.

His voice sounds like a cross between Yoko Ono and Andy Biersack.

4 Seth Putnam

I know he is dead, but he still deserves number 1.

His voice as well as his band was awful.

To be honest he's not that bad

5 Marilyn Manson Brian Hugh Warner, better known by his stage name Marilyn Manson, is an American musician, songwriter, actor, painter, multimedia artist, author, and former music journalist.

I never considered him metal and he never claimed that but regarding his singing ability - I'm not impressed.

Sound like he's singing whilst having a snail block his passage, that ugly crackling shtetl voice

He puts on a good show, but the guy just can't sing in my opinion.

Bad singer and kind of creepy.

6 Dave Mustaine David Scott "Dave" Mustaine (born September 13, 1961) is an American musician, singer, songwriter, actor and author. Mustaine is best known as a pioneer in Thrash Metal, being the former lead guitarist of Metallica before his dismissal in 1983, leading to finding and becoming the front man of his own band Megadeth shortly after.

When someone said, "He was Good back In the Day", I never laughed so hard in my entire life. He was a born terrible singer especially his duck vocals on Rust in Peace was so annoying that I never gave that album a second listen - no, that's the only reason why I never went back to listen to Megadeth.

He WAS good back in the day. Compare his vocals on Rust in Peace to Super Collider or Dystopia. He's not the same singer he once was, but he can still shred better than anyone in the game

USED to be awful back in the day; he's getting better now that he doesn't have that whiny, high-pitched voice, now he has that cool-ass raspy voice. He just keeps getting better.

He should have kept to the guitar and hired another singer. Seriously.

7 Eric Azure
8 Chris Barnes Chris Barnes is an American musician mainly noted for his deep-throat vocals, explicitly violent lyrics. Barnes was a founding member of Cannibal Corpse before his dismissal and would later form Six Feet Under, which he fronts to this day.

He was the lowest of his day. He even competed with the bass to be heard because of this, but his voice is boring and kind of annoying. I can tell that he runs out of breath with each word he says and he sounds kind of weak, even in his prime. And with Six Feet Under it just got worse.

I can't even understand what the hell he's saying. All I hear is a bear burping into a mic.

Most boring death metal singer ever

9 Denis Stoff
10 Ronnie James Dio Ronnie James Dio (born Ronald James Padavona; July 10, 1942 – May 16, 2010) was an American heavy metal singer, songwriter and musician. He fronted and/or founded numerous groups including Elf, Rainbow, Black Sabbath, Dio and Heaven & Hell. He is credited with popularizing the "metal horns" hand gesture in metal culture and is known for his medieval themed lyrics. Dio possessed a powerful versatile... read more

Ronnie James Dio is a great singer. Please do not vote for him on this list as he really doesn't even deserve to be on this list whatsoever to begin with, he's one of the greatest singers ever in my opinion.

Definitely doesn't deserve to be at 9th place right now whatsoever. Please disregard his placement here and listen to him yourself and see what an amazingly talented singer he really is.

This is definitely a troll item. Ignore it. Dio is a great singer and personality, with powerful and expressive voice, and remarkable vocal technique.

The Contenders
11 Jacoby Shaddix Jacoby Dakota Shaddix is an American musician, singer-songwriter, sporadic actor and former television presenter.

Garbage singer with possibly the most whiny voice I've ever heard.

My favorite vocalist ever

12 Mitch Lucker Mitchell Adam "Mitch" Lucker was an American musician and lead singer for the deathcore band Suicide Silence.

Only respected and liked because he died years ago. He's getting the Jimmy Sullivan treatment.

13 Dani Filth
14 Chris Fronzak
15 Don Campan
16 Ozzy Osbourne John Michael "Ozzy" Osbourne was born on December 3, 1948. He is also known as ''The Prince of Darkness''. Ozzy is an English singer, songwriter, and television personality. He rose to prominence in the early 1970s as the lead vocalist of the band Black Sabbath. Osbourne was fired from Black Sabbath in 1979 and has since had a successful solo career, releasing 11 studio albums.

His singing abilities and tone don't impresse me - just bad singing with tight throat so there's no air flow through his vocal folds, and as a result - no power and resonance. No command of vocal technique.
The most overrated metal singer and musician - he isn't the best metal singer ever and he didn't invent metal.
And no, I am not obsessed with death growls and I'm not comparing him with growlers. I compare him with singers with clean vocals - Dio, Rob Halford, Bruce Dickinson, Hansi Kursch, Michael Kiske, Ian Gillan, and many more.

His voice fits his songs better than others. On the Live Evil album dio's voice is just to much for Ozzy songs. And also his voice is unique, even though he may not be properly trained like others and his octave range is only around 2.5-3

His voice is pretty weak to be called metal. I don't like his voice. But I like some of his songs. I mean the singing style.

Worst Black Sabbath singer ever

17 Danny Worsnop Danny Robert Worsnop is an English musician, singer and songwriter, prominently known as the lead vocalist of rock bands Asking Alexandria and We Are Harlot.
18 Eddie Hermida Hernan Hermida, also known as Eddie Hermida (born March 24, 1983 in Cabimas, Venezuela) is an American metal singer for the band Sucide Silence.
19 Chuck Schuldiner Charles Michael "Chuck" Schuldiner (1967-2001) was an American singer, songwriter, and guitarist, best known as the founder and vocalist, guitarist and bassist of the American heavy metal band Death. He is considered the most influential figure in Death Metal, with some publications referring to Chuck ...read more.
20 Tom Araya Tomás Enrique "Tom" Araya Díaz is a Chilean American musician, best known as the bassist and vocalist of the American thrash metal band Slayer.

What is with these trolls though.

21 Steve Souza
22 Hunter Hunt-Hendrix
23 M. Shadows
24 Vince Neil Vincent Neil Wharton is an American vocalist and musician, best known as the lead vocalist of glam metal/ hair metal band Mötley Crüe.
25 George Fisher George "Corpsegrinder" Fisher is an American extreme metal vocalist for the American death metal band Cannibal Corpse and the lesser-known melodic death metal band Paths of Possession.

Corpsegrinder has some good growls... I understand that it is an acquired taste, but you can't deny that he is talented. This is coming from someone who doesn't really like Cannibal Corpse. I admire the individual talents, like Alex Webster's bass wizardry, but I think they go too far sometimes.

How tf is corpsegrinder a "bad" singer? Do you guys ever check out any other death metal bands? He has much better growling and screaming than other death metal vocalists do. The only problem with him is that his lyrics aren't really clear enough to understand but who gives a fxxx? He's still a good singer

Not that good in my opinion. But the rest of Cannibal Corpse have undeniable talent. If it weren't for the fans, I wouldn't dislike the band as much.
