Worst Movie Villains of All Time

These villains really are vile, because they suck at their performances! Got a bad villain? Put it on the list!
The Top Ten
1 Mr. Freeze (Batman & Robin)

Scientist dedicated to saving his wife and curing a deadly disease starts killing innocent people to steal diamonds. Worst villain ever. Horrible acting, worse dialogue; no wonder Patrick Stewart turned down the role

Unlike the tortured character of the comics, Joel Schumacher's version of Mr Freeze (as played by Arnold Schwarzenegger) is a total joke.

No really, all he does is jest and pun as he goes about turning Gotham into a twinkly wonderland.

"What killed the dinosaurs? THE ICE AGE! " There are even more terrible puns like that.

2 Venom (Spider-Man 3)

Venom's live-action debut in Spider-Man 3 definitely didn't do the character justice. Of course, Sam Raimi didn't like the character, know him very much, or want to include him in the third installment of his Spider-Man films, but one of the staff members forced him to include Venom only because he's famous. The bad thing is that the execution of the character in the film is only a broad version of the character and its source material. While the design choices such as the slim build and the way he talks are debatable, the main problems are really his lackluster spotlight, minimal screen time, and subpar character development. Venom was just a filler villain who barely contributed anything to the more important parts of Spider-Man 3 and his overall character was very much just crammed into the one movie, particularly in the third act, which leads to him getting wasted pretty much. Venom was a very important character in the comics who had a big part in the story but the decision in Spider-Man 3 to rush the symbiote's relationship with Peter and Eddie, giving him too little scenes to properly develop his character, as well as killing him off after giving him a vague contribution to the film with him being shoehorned in, it just proves the point that this movie didn't handle the character well at all. The Venom symbiote itself was depicted in this movie as a mindless savage whereas the version in the comics had a personality. Not even Eddie himself was a well-written character in the film either as he's also a rushed character with weak development; his motivations are more unreasonable compared to his portrayal in the comics, which makes it hard to sympathize with him. Additionally, Topher Grace (the actor who portrayed Eddie Brock/Venom in this movie) didn't enjoy playing him despite being a fan of the character and many people said that Topher Grace's casting and performance wasn't great, which led to his acting career being badly affected, which was a real... more

3 Terl (Battlefield Earth)

This is where John travolta's career started to sink.

4 Anakin Skywalker (Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith)
5 Randy McDermott (Dangerously Close)

One of the worst written villains in any film. And the actor who played him co-wrote this terrible film.

6 Lex Luthor (Batman vs Superman)
7 Deadpool (X-Men Origins: Wolverine)
8 The Architect (The Matrix Reloaded)
9 Nuclear Man (Superman IV: The Quest For Peace)

I think Superman IV and Batman and Robin are both proof that people should NOT make a fourth superhero movie.

And how did he get those clothes of his after he was formed from nuclear missiles and a piece of superman's hair?

Nuclear man's weakness is staying out of the sun which makes you bursting out with laughter

10 Laurel Hedare (Catwoman)
The Contenders
11 King Koopa (Super Mario Bros.)

Does this even look like Bowser? Bowser is supposed to be a dragon, not a military president with a long tongue and horns sticking out of his head. and why did they keep calling him king koopa back then instead of Bowser?

Dennis hopper doesn't even know what he's doing. I wouldn't blame him. I would be confused to if I had to act through anything the script for this movie intended for.

How does this guy look like bowser? He looks more like a fathole that came from another stinkin dimension and he was like,"Oh, I'm gonna conquer this stinkin dimension just because my tummy orders me to. And I love eating toads and humans".

12 The Master (Manos: The Hands of Fate)
13 Count Dooku (Star Wars: Attack of the Clones) Count Dooku of Serenno, from the House of Dooku is a fictional character from the Star Wars franchise, appearing in Star Wars: Episode II – Attack of the Clones and Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith as a primary and minor antagonist respectively. He was portrayed by Christopher Lee and... read more
14 Profion (Dungeons and Dragons)
15 Hans (Frozen)

*Rolls eyes and groans*

Why? Why is he here? And this high up? For the millionth time people, can you stop trashing every conceivable thing in Frozen just because it still gets talked about? Or are you just mad that him being the villain was an actual surprise and wasn't just spoon fed to you? Is that how you like your villains? Generic, weak, and blatantly obvious with their evilness? What happened to moviegoers? I thought we liked having complexity and thinking elements in our movies, but nope, apparently all the people who are trashing Hans just wanted him to be a straight forward, black and white, totally un-sympathetic villain

16 General Grievous (Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith) General Grievous is a fictional character and antagonist in the Star Wars franchise. He served as the Supreme Commander of the Confederacy of Independent Systems' Droid Armies during the Clone Wars. He is voiced by Matthew Wood.

It felt like he was just there to be there. And he was killed by a laser blast.

Just another run for merchandise.

17 Piccolo (Dragonball Evolution)

The movie is a disgrace to the anime.

18 Electro (The Amazing Spider-Man 2)

TASM2 was good with the personal drama, but when it came to writing villains, they were nonstop cringe. This weird bucktoothed and blue Jamie Foxx is no exeception.

19 Druid Creedence Leonore Gielgud (Troll 2)
20 Bellwether (Zootopia)
21 Malekith (Thor: The Dark World)
22 Gargamel (The Smurfs)

I literally cringed every time he was on screen, it's 1 of the worst performances I've ever seen in my entire life

23 Poison Ivy (Batman & Robin)
24 Zilla (Godzilla 1998)

I do like Zilla, but he ruined the movie while being called Godzilla. That's what makes the movie bad.

25 Dominic Greene (Quantum of Solace) Dominic Greene is the primary antagonist in Quantum of Solace (2008), and was a member of the Quantum organisation alongside Mr. White (who hired Le Chiffre in the prior film). Greene operates a legitimate business named Greene Planet, which is supposedly devoted to buying up large sums of land for... read more
