Worst Poser Metal Bands

The Contenders: Page 2

21 Papa Roach Papa Roach Papa Roach is an American rock band from Vacaville, California. Formed in 1993, their first major-label release was the triple-platinum album Infest.

Nothing but posers, they suck bad. Not even metal.

These guys are nu metal but I like some of their songs

Not metal, they are pop rock/shitty emo pop

22 Korn Korn Korn is an American Nu-Metal band from Bakersfield, California, formed in 1993. The band's current lineup includes founding members Jonathan Davis, James "Munky" Shaffer, Brian "Head" Welch, and Reginald "Fieldy" Arvizu, with the addition of Ray Luzier, who replaced the band's original member, David ...read more.

Well apparently Korn are also posers. I swear whoever made this list has their head up their ass - MetalFoREVer1228

They never sold out. What they're doing is original. The dubstep is annoying, but I haven't heard any other bands do that yet. So the "sell out" thing doesn't apply to Korn. They were much better before See You On The Other Side though.

They started off making real emotional metal that was actually believable at first. But JD has turned into the biggest retard in the metal genre. "Metal is not cool enough these days now we make dub metal so the cool kids will buy our albums" also mixing Hip-hop with metal? What the hell? JD has proven himself to be a poser and I don't believe for one second that the first two albums were actual emotions. They can't even decide on their sound they just do whatever is cool these days.

Korn never claimed to be Metal. - wrests

23 Godsmack Godsmack Godsmack is an American rock band from Lawrence, Massachusetts, formed in 1995. The band is composed of founder, frontman and songwriter Sully Erna, guitarist Tony Rombola, bassist Robbie Merrill, and drummer Shannon Larkin.

I've never understood the hate towards godsmack, they do not try nor claim to be metal, they are just hard rock. And this is coming from a metal purist that believes every other band on this list deserves to be here.

This is a great band there are very underrated and I think more people should listen to them - donovanthorn

What? Why are they on here? They're metal. - Metalhead1997

They are just awesome...nothing more to say

24 Behemoth Behemoth Behemoth is a Polish blackened death metal band from GdaƄsk, formed in 1991. They are considered to have played an important role in establishing the Polish extreme metal underground.

Are you mad?! They are absolutely great! Especially when they Play live!

Behemoth were Metal when they were in middle school. Behemoth have been playing Black and Death Metal longer than the rest of the poser bands on this list. Behemoth rose in popularity, yes, but they've been devoted to Metal earlier in their lives than most bands in existence.

Behemoth is on of the greatest polish bands!

No one who listens to Behemoth can call them posers... listen to them. - Lucretia

25 Of Mice and Men Of Mice and Men

They are one of the reasons why people think metalcore is pure crap (although true metalcore it isn't at all).

Worst band ever created, the singer is awful and he doesn't know how to scream! The base fans are gothopouf or fangirls who only listen the "singer" of this crap

I'm not a big metalcore fan to begin with, so I wasn't a big fan of their first two albums, but I think their newest album has quite a few good songs in it that I can actually listen to, and I reccomend it

The comparison of emo fans (mice) with metalheads (men and women). - Metalhead1997

26 A Day to Remember A Day to Remember A Day to Remember (often abbreviated ADTR) is an American rock band from Ocala, Florida, founded in 2003 by guitarist Tom Denney and drummer Bobby Scruggs. They are known for their unusual amalgamation of metalcore and pop punk. The band currently consists of vocalist Jeremy McKinnon, rhythm guitarist ...read more.

I don't even understand why people think that this is a metal band, sure they have growls but just cause it has a little screaming doesn't make it metal. There leads singers voice is whiny and annoying and this band would fit more into the pop-punk scene not at all metal.

I like the band a lot but they are not metal the only song that can confuse people to think is metal is Paranoia which is not one of their popular songs sadly cause it's their best song and closest to metal - TheUltimateNavigator1

Paranoia is the only song remotely related to metal... They are more a punk band (blink-182, Sun 41, etc...)

And also the band never said they we're metal so it should not even be on here - TheUltimateNavigator1

27 Nickelback Nickelback Nickelback is a Canadian rock band formed in 1995 in Hanna, Alberta, Canada. The band is composed of guitarist and lead vocalist Chad Kroeger, guitarist, keyboardist and backing vocalist Ryan Peake, bassist Mike Kroeger, and drummer Daniel Adair.

Nickelback isn't metal at all, so why are they even here to begin with?

I feel like Nickelback isn't even trying to be metal.

Nickelback is not metal.

Nickelack never says they are metal... they are always rock, not very good rock, but rock. - Lucretia

28 Dragonforce Dragonforce DragonForce are a British power metal band based in London, England. Formed in 1999, the group are known for their long and fast guitar solos, fantasy-themed lyrics, and electronic sounds in their music to add to their retro video game-influenced sound.

They are very talented - Sabbath

This list is horrible. DragonForce is one of my favourite bands and they're really talented.

Alright. ZP Theart's not a metal vocalist. But would you say Herman Li's guitar riffs are not metal? If not what is it then. Rapid chord progressions, fast alternate picking, some tremolo picking, sometimes some tapping, heavily uses of metal power chords, his scales, his complex arpeggios, legatos. All these are not metal? He may be a poser fast guitarist. But not poser metal. At least give me one reason what is not metal in his guitar riffs/solos? - zxm

Shouldn't be on this list. they are amazing, and they aren't metal! Idiot.

Whinny poser emo crap not metal at all

They're not even metal! But they're amazing and honestly, I'm happy I discovered them. - Catacorn

Posers? One of the best death metal bands ever

What posers these guys are death metal gods dumbasses

What in God's name? Cannibal Corpse music is awesome (not the lyrics) and they're not posers. - GREYBOYY

Confused. Explain why the pioneer of death metal after Death is a poser band. I'm waiting. - Metalhead1997

32 Escape the Fate Escape the Fate

Whoever put Escape the Fate on this list, is a stupid idiot.

33 Evanescence Evanescence Evanescence is an American rock band founded in Little Rock, Arkansas in 1995 by singer/pianist Amy Lee and guitarist Ben Moody.

Terrible emo

They are half I guess I like their songs but they do not feel like metal - TheUltimateNavigator1

I'm not sure how to classify them, but they aren't posers. - Metalhead1997

Evanescence is alternative rock, honestly. - Lucretia

35 Five Finger Death Punch Five Finger Death Punch Five Finger Death Punch is an American heavy metal band from Las Vegas, Nevada. Formed in 2005, the band's name is derived from a fictional martial arts maneuver in the 2003 film Kill Bill.

They try to act extreme and hardcore, from their name to the brass knuckles on every album. The lyrics and guitar is in no way innovative, I mean come on. Mainstream crap producing punks.

Dude, on a scale from 1 to 10, 1 being not so extreme and 10 being extremely extreme, I give this a 9.5!

Not metal, more like trailer park rock.

There's only 1 good song by them - TheUltimateNavigator1

38 Manowar Manowar Manowar is an American heavy metal band from New York City, New York. Formed in 1980, the group is known for lyrics based on fantasy and mythology.

No, no no - they AREN'T posers. They invented battle metal and were pioneers of power metal.
They called themselves "true metal" in the 80s to differentiate from glam metal and I agree because glam metal is a definition of poser metal. Manowar didn't play glam metal so they played 'true metal'.
I agree that the expression "true metal" may sound annoying today if you don't know the context and the reason why Manowar used it. - Metal_Treasure

Manowar started off as metal but on their later albums it seems like the majority of songs are melodic ballads & not really metal.

They try so hard to be "true" that they become the most false, most poser band of all time.

They started power metal! Whoever made this list is an idiot. - Metalhead1997
