Their original name was Groundswell until they changed it to their current name in 1997. In 2003, the band's current guitarist Barry Stock was recruited to the band. In 2013 Gontier left the band due to creative differences. He was replaced with Brad's brother Matt Walst.

I enjoyed their 1st album and even some songs from carma and effect. but Seether slowly turned to crap on every album since then, Now they mostly make albums to see how many other songs from other respectful artist they can steel and rewrite as their own. vary disappointed in this band.
Absolutely the worst post-grunge band and one of the all time worst groups I've ever heard. That Broken song will be played when I'm in hell.
