Worst Protagonist Anime Characters
Ever liked an anime so much but there was just that one lead character you couldn't stand? Well, now you can give your honest opinion about it. Please remember these are Protagonists and not side characters. We're talking about characters who are the central part of the narrative. Examples: Misaki Ayuzawa, Lelouch, Kiba (Wolf's Ran) etc.

Yikes, this guy. What could you expect from a character that was in an anime that was dubbed: One of The Worsts Animes of All Time? If only he didn't sleep around so much, maybe then he wouldn't be so unlikable.
I'm glad Makoto and Pico are on top. I actually like Kirito and I don't really hate Ash Ketchum that much. But I respect your opinions on them if you don't like them.

Yukiteru Amano (or 'Yukki') is the main male protagonist of Mirai Nikki, a show created by Sakae Esuno, on October 10, 2011. Yukiteru has dark hair, blue eyes and a quiet personality. He is the "First" Diary owner and he owns the "Observe Diary" He is one of the reasons why I don't like Future Diary. At the start I got bored with this character. Then, I got so annoyed. What does Yuno even see in him. I was hoping he would get some good character development. But NOPE. I just hated him more. SPOILER ALERT! He in Yuno banged. They are 14 years old. MAJOR SPOILER ALERT! Yuno killed herself then Yuki won. He became a god. He didn't even do anything. He just cry's and relys on Yuno to save his ass or kill people for him.
Only thing is a dart just wish he could at least been given something else overtime. Still he becomes likeable to me. I feel like somebody should have this spot.

Kazuto Kirigaya is a fictional character who appears in the Sword Art Online series of light novels by Reki Kawahara. Should be way higher. At least both Shinji Ikari and Ash Ketchum have to cope with the consequences of their actions. Kirito is just a special little snowflake who has NO obstacles to overcome. He just wins with no explanation. Looking at his picture irritates the crap out of me. He looks like such a girl! Such OBVIOUS otaku wish fulfillment. I can't stand this character. Worst protagonist EVER.

How dare u this show is the only yu-gi-oh show I love,but the first one is still the best he might be annoying to some people but he is hilarious to me and goofy and becomes a badass character later
Worthless as a Protagonist, especially for this series
Ash Ketchum, known as Satoshi in Japan, is a fictional main character in the Pokémon franchise owned by Nintendo. Ash is training to be a Pokemon Master, with his buddy Pikachu. Ash tries to stop the evil Team Rocket from stealing his Pikachu. 1. Forgets almost everything when he enters a new region. Always sticking to Pikachu all the time and forget his other pokemon. Imagine yugioh with yugi tearing up all of his cards except dark magician to replace it with a synchro or xyz deck. Say all you want about Yuma from YGO zexal but at least all of the YGO heroes had character progression and had a clear arc that has an end.
2. Even a dog has a bigger brain than him. He uses a pokedex on pokemon he already saw before. He still can't recognize team rocket in their terrible disguises and always fall on their every trap
3. A forever 10 year old who never grows up. Physically and mentally.
4. It's been a long ride after all those years. Naruto became hokage. Luffy became yonko. Goku obtained God powers, and Gon finally reunites his dad. Meanwhile, Ash just won only a single league (took him 22 years lol) and still nowhere near on becoming pokemon master. And I don't think he will.
5. Can't spell "trash" without Ash.
There's nothing like watching a character with no background or a freaking motive!

No offense to Natsu's fan, but I just hate him! He's so annoying and boring. He never achieves his powers on his own, always relying on Power of Friendship, and is just terrible in every way.
Not even the worst because she can't fight. The worst because she can't think for herself, she's not even traumatised after have been severely assaulted, she treat her abuser like they're friends or something with no explanation of a Syndrome of Stockholm or anything... she just exist to be a punching ball!
She just allows all the vampires to treat her like a walking soft drink and let's them verbally/physically abuse her. She basically has no personality or will of her own. No wonder the vamps think they own her and can do whatever they want. I think of her as more of a prop than a character.
The worst sort of character: one with no personality. She exists just for the viewer to project themselves onto since it was a dating game before being an anime.

The worst anime protagonist of 2016! In almost all action anime, the protagonist are capable of fighting with their amazing powers. Subaru on the other hand, literally is powerless!

It is not the fact that he did not choose the second girl. It is just that he is suuuper annoying. And stupid. He doesn't have a brain. He is like "OH! I'm in an unknown place. Worst among the sailor scouts. When her friends were dying, the only thing on her mind was how warm Tuxedo Kamen's hands are. Whiny, dependable, and she would have died long ago without the other sailors. Jupiter is tough and strong, Venus is charismatic, Mars is kind with spiritual powers, Mercury is intelligent,... and what does Moon have? She is so undeserving of all her powers, she didn't do anything to achieve them.
Very whiny at points. Just couldn't stand her, the other Sailor Scouts are better in my opinion.
