First of all, it is spelled with one N. Second of all, it was probably because Stephen King hated the movie. Third of all, WHY WOULD THIS MAN HAVE A RAZZIE NOMINATION IN THE FIRST PLACE? - 445956

The Shining was a masterpiece but I wish Razzies won't exist and the Razzies is the worst award by itself in history of cinemas.

2 Brian De Palma, Worst Director - Dressed To Kill / Body Double / Scarface
3 Ennio Morricone, Worst Musical Score - The Thing Ennio Morricone, Worst Musical Score - The Thing Ennio Morricone, Grand Officer OMRI is an Italian composer, orchestrator, conductor, and former trumpet player.
4 Michael Cimino, Worst Director, Worst Screenplay - Heaven’s Gate
5 Heaven’s Gate - Worst Picture

I just don't get the appeal of this movie. When it was released, it was panned, and I can see why: its storytelling is unnecessary slow (not to be confused with the creation of tension by reducing its tempo, like the masterful and atmospherically very rich "Once Upon a Time in the West" does, this one just appears very minimalistic in its content and aesthetics, yet shows much footage to lengthen it up) and has little to tell. There are period pieces who try to capture the zeitgeist of a certain era by adding minor scenes and details (again, Leone did both to mentally prepare the viewer for what is to come or to make a statement about the era the movie is set in), but "Heaven's Gate" just features endless shots of landscapes and people going from A to B without apparent reason other to increase the length of the movie. 10 Ben Affleck - Worst Actor, Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice Ben Affleck - Worst Actor, Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice

Even if you admit the film was below average for you, to nominate Ben Affleck for Worst Actor was a completely dumb move for the Razzies, considering he was actually among the best parts of the film. - CrimsonShark

He was easily the greatest part of this movie - 906389
