Worst Rock/Metal Albums of 2018I also made Worst Pop/Rap Albums of 2018, but I'm not going to pretend that it's just Pop, and Rap, because Rock had some awful albums as well this year.
The Top Ten
Terrible! TERRIBLE album! - LightningStrike
Whatever happened to Fall Out Boy in between their hiatus is a mythic question to this day.
I will say that their pre-hiatus work was generally solid for Pop Punk. Post hiatus, they switched to Pop Rock and while they had some decent tracks, they simply weren't as good as they used to be back then. With this album, there's no turning back now. Fall Out Boy have made an album that is terrible and meaningless in regards to its content. - CrimsonShark
30 Seconds to Mars were never one of the best bands of their time, but at least in their defense, they had some novelty and uniqueness in their first few albums and works via some Progressive and Space Rock elements. Whatever the hell happened from their fourth album onward, they've fallen hard, switching their sound to appease a wider audiences on a flop.
This album cements it. 30 Seconds to Mars is hardly a Rock band now. I;m usually fine with bands changing their sounds, but this is just not only devoid of inventiveness, but there's no sense of drive put into it. - CrimsonShark
This album makes Mania look like Dark Side of the Moon and Pray for the Wicked look like Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band. - NickelbackLinkinPark4Eva
I only like Machine, Bad Liar and Natural. - Userguy44
So bad that I put it at number one on both lists.
It’s technically not a rock album. It’s electropop. - Userguy44
(Screams internally) whoa! I live Simulation Theory! It's not their best album, and not all the songs are good, but still. Origin of Symmetry is worse and overrated.
I actually like a lot of Muse's 2000's work, which was mainly Alternative Rock, but also had elements of Space Rock, and Prog Rock. But 2010's Muse is just awful. They went in a accessible direction, which has gone horribly, and this album is just trying to cash in on the whole 1980's nostalgia thing, and it fails, miserably.
I thought it was good, but I'm a bit dissapointed with this album. Muse completely changed their sound. This will never be as good as Origin of Symmetry or Absolution. - Userguy44
I really hope to see this band improve in the future, but this album is really lackluster.
