Browsing YTV XX ''Top 10 Worst Saturday Night Live Cast Members''

With a new premiere of the long lasting variety sketch show going on 45 years now SNL has had its share of hits and misses. Long ago I made a list on this site of the worst cast members so for them to have final done this makes feel good strangely enough. Let's see what comedians Watchmojo puts on the list will determine how on or off it maybe seen.

Reactions:

#10 Jim Belushi - One that I would of left off the list considering there are worse than Jim. Granted he had a hard act to follow brother John of course. He was decent not great or terrible, but still near the bottom of all time rank of cast members.

#9 Tony Rosato - Rosato was the low end of the other three brought in (Robin Duke, and Martin Short) from another variety sketch show called Second City Television. Well he is best known for being Luigi on those god awful Super Mario shows. Can't say I remember any stick of his from the one year blunder other than SNL made a tribute to the forgotten alumnus in early 2017 when he passed away.

#8 Gilbert Gottfired - Its hard to believe somebody with great talent like Gottfried managed to not even last long. Well that was the case when Jean was the executive producer. Seeing there was dump cast spree in the early 80's I can see why he would be on this list seeing everything after this he just exploded on the scene.

#7 Rob Riggle - Oh yes, and frankly I can't tell if he had any memorable characters to speak of. After leaving SNL Rob Riggle's name got more out there thanks to help of Step Brothers, and being on Fox's NFL Sunday Pre-game show taking over for longtime comedian Frank Caliendo and doing the job with justice nice rebound for a forgettable cast member.

#6 Jay Mohr - He is a very okay comedian honestly, but not when he was on in the midst of the 90's. I remember a few times looking at clips of impressions he did were pretty shockingly bad.

#5 Colin Quinn - Me personally Colin Quinn is my number one simply for that he was brought in to replace the very hilarious Norm McDonald after the constant nailed O.J. Simpson jokes controversy. The delivery he brought on weekend update is easily the worst of anybody possible. When Jimmy Fallon and Tiny Fey took over that was a breath of fresh air.

#4 Randy Quaid - Mr. National Lampoon was one of the bigger blunder on SNL ever, and of course we dive into the infamously god awful 85'-86' season where Lorne Michaels returned to the network. Quaid was just very odd to watch here with many awkward moment when making impression of pop culture satire.

#3 Jim Breuer - I strongly disagree, Jim Breuer was underrated on SNL. Yes he had Goat Boy, but he also had the Joe Pesci show those sketches were pretty funny. I feel like he got the axe too soon, and should of been given a few more seasons than the little run he had.

#2 Victoria Jackson - This might be the case where maybe woman weren't funny in the late to early 90's when it came to Victoria Jackson. The only thing I fought she was decent of was that she had the look of Rosanne Barr, but that's about it.

#1 Robert Downey Jr. - Yes Tony Stark is on this list, ''I... am Iron Man (*snap).'' Before going on to be Iron Man he was very cringeworthy in the forevermore 85'-86' season. They say he did get on the right track well to me that was not until the Avenger movies where he turned around for the better in his acting career.

That's the list for the most part I see where everyone is placed aside from maybe two I would of left out. One thing I noticed is no dishonorable mentions? There is a ton of former cast members I could list that had a shot for sure let's examine who I mean.

Sarah Sliverman - She was just hot eye candy that was not that funny pretty similar to Victoria Jackson in a lot of ways. Only she had found some starting roles eventually.

Michael Anthony Hall, Terry Sweeney, & Joan Cusack - Basically the other names not mention from that infamously awful 85'-86' Season. Of these three at least Joan was able to do fairly well later on while Terry was pure cringe, and Michael Anthony Hall's career was no more after this one big bomb he had from immediately superstardom to massive drop off.

Janeane Garofalo - To be honest I feel like she was only brought in as filler than of comedian talent at the time thus worthy of a mention at best since I read a book of her time on SNL.

Ben Stiller - Yeah that's right Stiller was once a cast member, the reason he was axed quickly was because of the dispute he had with Lore over music videos concept that would later be used for Andy Samberg huh oh well they seem to be on good terms since, but still as a regular nothing sticks out.

One thing I was surprised to not see more of the recent decades blunder cast members ones like...

Tim Robinson - He never had a signature sketch of note, and at least in my eyes for a guy who came from Michigan was a huge disappointment.

Luke Null - I had low expectations for him coming into the 43rd season of SNL. When new featured players like Heidi Gardner, and Chris Redd have more to show than you play an annoying kid in one sketch your done for.

Jon Rudnitsky - In the 41st season there was only one new cast member, and he was just not very good. Only skit he is noteworthy for is a rare weekend update clip where he is having a parody of Dirty Dancing.

John Milhiser - Milhiser is the second ''openly gay'' cast member (the other being Terry Sweeney) who was mostly a dud. Mediocre impression include Mini Me, Jon Cryer, and Matthew McConaughey was one of many casualties of many new featured players that 39th season.

There's my long thoughts about the show that does not die unless Lorne Michaels wants it to be. Let us hope for a more consistent season and for the newbies to be very good since one has already gotten canned until next time let's get some laughs to cheer you up. ''Forty Five, Forty five, and if Lorne Michaels is still alive. There will be a Saturday Night Live!''
