Top 10 Worst Skills in the Borderlands Franchise

The Top Ten
1 Smirk (Mordecai, BL1)

Killing enemies with a headshot gives you slightly more EXP for a very short time. Situational, doesn't add much EXP and doesn't help you kill things.

2 Prize Fighter (Brick, BL1)

It only works during Berserking. It gives you some extra money (not that important). It doesn't really help you kill things, so no good.

3 Inspire (Jack, TPS)

Literally does nothing. At least it only costs 1 point and the dialogue is funny.

4 Venom Bolts (Wilhelm, TPS)

Gives Wolf a CHANCE of causing corrosion. Except corrosion is bad in The Pre-Sequel so it doesn't really do much.

5 Winter's Fury (Aurelia, TPS)

It causes the enemies to be knocked back, but it also hinders your ability to aim at them.

6 Salvador's entire Brawn tree

It increases your health, but the increases are not big enough to make a difference. Late game it scales even more poorly.

Salvador doesn't need this tree if he had the grog nozzle

7 Bloody Revival (Krieg, BL2)

It increases Assault Rifle damage during Fight For Your Life. Very restrictive, for only 1 weapon type. The boost is dependent purely on your stacks. And Assault Rifles generally aren't that great for FFYL.

8 Recompense (Maya, BL2)

It sounds good until you realize your health is only a tiny tiny fraction of all the enemies' health. And the skill gets worse as the game progresses.

9 Ranger (Axton, BL2)

Increases a lot of things by 1% per point spent. It helps a lot of things a little bit but it doesn't specialize in anything and it doesn't enable you to do any new kind of playstyle.

10 Ransack (Mordecai, BL1)

Gets you a little more loot but doesn't really do much.
