Worst SpongeBob SquarePants Season 5 Episodes

I still hope SpongeBob falls right into a burning ring of fire for what he did to all those innocent scallops in this episode!

I HATE this episode! Not just one of the worst of season 5, it's one of the worst of all seasons (in my opinion). He killed scallops! What if one of them was junior! This episode commits character assassination! What happened to the old spongebob who was kind and caring and didn't murder innocent animals! The scallop killing scene is enough to secure this episode a place on my top 10 worst episodes even without the rest of this awful episode.

Oh and the rest of the episode is just creepy. Sure I don't think it's out of character for Spongebob to befriend inanimate objects, he's done that before in episodes like "I had an accident" but never before has he been sexually attracted to another person never mind a sandwich...it's just so messed up!

That he has a fetish for the patty is not what bothers me, it's the fact how it was executed, with the worst possible use of disgusting imagery and a horrible killing in the middle. And I am not talking about your typical gross out or toilet humor, this goes further, it celebrates the disgust in such a detail and level that you will wonder if they had some sort of hatred against the character Spongebob. I mean look at this on a more psychological or metaphorical way: he kills clams quite graphically but it is presented as a side gag (clams are birds in the Spongebob universe, he kills birds basically, and we all remember he once cared for one), then later on he is forced to eat not a rotten burger but one with maggots, hair and other truly disgusting stuff. To me this looks like someone intentionally wanted to make Spongebob look as hateworthy as possible just to take revenge to him in the most sadistic of ways. I don't care about the fact that he loved it, Heres why I hate it:
1. Ill never watch "Rock a Bye Bivalve" the same way again because of this.
2. The gross close ups, and everything that happened with the patty.
3. After all that, he EATS it. I'm gonna wait a few days until I eat another burger...

At best, this special is yawn-inducing boring. At worst, it's one of the most obnoxious things ever. The whole reason that Patrick got lost is because he was being an absolute dumb-ass, and the special never seems to want to acknowledge his stupidity. For a majority of the special, there is so little happening, and even less to actually care about. The story, especially the characters, are so annoying that I actually want to go back and apologize to Squidward and Mr. Krabs. The music continue the trend of being horrible (yes, even the beginning's), the parrot is one of the stupidest characters in the special, and all the characters have nothing likable about them.

I honestly don't think this special and it's songs aren't as bad as people make it out to be. My main problem with the special is the slow pacing which makes it very boring to sit through. The songs are used to pad out the 44 minute run time. I think the songs are bland and forgettable. The different art styles leave a lot to be desired as well because they're only up on screen for a minute or two. Nick wanted to make what was suppose to be an 11 minute episode into an hour special, which makes no sense! David Bowie was a wasted celebrity guest due to LRH and the rest of the Atlantians being very forgettable characters. The Patchy stuff is worse than the main plot due to annoying me more than the actual episode did due to the obnoxious tone and terrible special effects which weren't funny as they were intended to be.

Biggest disappointment in SpongeBob history. There are no attempts at jokes, the plot is either ripping offf Willy Wonka, or repeating the same crap over and over, and the songs are cringe-worthy. Not even the Patchy segments are good, which was what I liked best in earlier specials. Seriously though, what dumbass casts David Bowie, a professional singer, and he is quite literallythe only character who doesn't sing

Definitely a let down and a really terrible episode but come on guys. I'd still prefer this over Whobob Whatpants, Spongehenge, and To Love a Patty any day.

This is the first and last episode in which I felt truly grossed-out throughout the entire episode. After I saw this, I reached my breaking point. I could barely even keep my lunch in my stomach. Warning, DO NOT watch this right before or after eating.

I hate to say this, but there's nothing even close to any sort of jokes being told. Even if you take the disgusting parts out of this episode, it is still nothing but boring and mean spirited.

This episode is so badly written and so disgusting it makes me want to puke every time. This plot could have been good, but the writers couldn't possibly do that.

I had to watch Band Geeks three times to calm myself down after seeing this episode.

After watching Spongehenge, I was 99% sure that will be the worst episode of the season. After watching this episode, I told myself: "Boy was I wrong." This episode is not funny at all (the apple joke was not funny), it had a terrible ending and a terrible beginning, it was so gross I'm glad I haven't vomited. Warning: don't watch this episode right before or right after eating, I watched it right after lunch and almost vomited. (Although this episode is so terrible and gross you can almost vomit even if you don't watch this episode right before or after your meal). And yeah, this episode is A LOT grosser than Fungus Among Us and should be #1. My top 5 worst episodes of the season:

A lot more gross than Fungus Among Us, when the fleas take over Sandy's house I want to smash the computer and pray to God I keep everything that I ate last 5 years in my body. Also, the apple joke is not funny, and the ending is stupid because EVERY BIKINI BOTTOM CITIZEN gets trapped in Sandy's treedome and CAN'T get out. This episode was bad from start to finish and put it at #1.

Come on! This one is A LOT worse than To Love a Patty and Atlantis Squarepantis. Fungus Among us and this one are horrible, I can't tell which is worse, some of them should be #1.

For some reason, I like pretty much every episode on this list except this and Atlantis. And I didn't even mind those to be honest. What's the matter with me?

I honestly don't find the close up to be that gross. I find the ending of SB TP to be a lot worse, so that might be the reason I'm not really uncomfortable with it.

At least there are some redeeming qualities.

That close up is the most disturbing I have ever seen. I can't even imagine how many young viewers got nightmares from that!

I like this one to be honest.

This SHORT is honestly one of the most infuriating things I have ever seen.

This episode has SpongeBob crying because he missed his birthday party five minutes off screen, and it has a joke about Patrick eating the cake.

But this episode has the fact that it just BARELY EVEN BOTHER WITH THE PLOT OR ANY SORT OF GAG! This episode is awful on so many levels and it's a SHORT! I never thought a SHORT episode could possibly make me so frustrated and angry, but it does!

You don't want to watch it! You never want to see this episode! It is tedious and boring and annoying and frustrating! But the best part of the episode is that Squidward appears in it, and nothing horrible happens to him. That's pretty bad.

The entirety of this episode could be set up as: "SpongeBob refuses to have a plot." He literally just stands there waiting for this toy, and anytime something looks like it's going to happen, like Patrick tries to start a plot, SpongeBob absolutely denies ...more

I'm probably the only person who actually likes this episode. I don't even find it to be that boring.

Ten minutes of BORING! Ugh, I could walk around in circles for ten minutes and feel less bored.

I respect the opinion who love this episode. But you need to check it again. I'm not going to be kidding here. Why SpongeBob getting scott of free while he doing a bad thing. And why Squidward getting mauled and crashed while doing the right thing. Is this a good moral to teach?

Squidward is being punished for proper safety. And this episode is trying to be educational.

I actually liked it. It was funny. But didn't get the story.

This episode puts SpongeBob through everything he does to Squidward, and I'm supposed to feel sorry only for ScumBob? No, that's not how morality works, writers. I was surprised the devils duo (Cervas and Alexander) weren't behind this mess.

This episode is boring, annoying, and has as many flaws and plot holes, (maybe even more), than SpongeBob You're Fired! Although To Love a Patty is a close 2nd, this episode is seriously bad.

I like the opening sequence in this episode where SpongeBob tries to sleep, and then he gets scared. That part really gets a laugh out of me. But then, the episode just goes right downhill, only to bring it up a little bit when Mermaidman and Barnacleboy show up. I don't believe this is a true Mermaidman and Barnacleboy episode.

This is flanderization at its finest. SpongeBob is completely childish, and they shoehorn in MermaidMan and BarnacleBoy for no reason other than to pad out the episodes length.

I like this one. It's sorta dumb, but pretty neat. It's interesting and has cool visuals.

Worst Season 5 SpongeBob episode so far!

I actually thought this was so stupid to the point where it's actually funny.

A stupid modern SpongeBob episode: idiotic plot, unlikeable characters (Ms. Grisslepuss and her police chief husband), the regular SpongeBob characters more flanderized and dumb than usual, and an unbelievably horrible song. Plus, the ending couldn't be much more insulting if they tried.

The nasty part is where plankton is right on the patty, not in, but kinda nestled. This happens right before Mr. grisslepuss eats him.

I actually liked this one. The characters were mostly likeable.

Why did miss grissul puss shut down the restaurant because of Krabby patty's I know that they can be dangerous said by watchmojo.com but there are better reasons for shutting down the Krusty krab

This episode was good. Just because it has the same sort of premise as 'Dunces and Dragons', that doesn't make it a ripoff. That's like saying that 'Dunces and Dragons' is a ripoff of 'UGH', which happens to be my least favorite in the Time Period Trio. Yeah, I gave it a name. None of these three episodes are ripoffs of each other. It's a sort of miniseries, like Family Guy's 'Road To...' Series or The Simpsons 'Treehouse of Horror' Series. And people give 'Pest of the West' crap (Mainly PieGuyRulz, not calling him out, slagging him off or insulting him by the way, I think he is a good Youtuber and Reviewer) just because it isn't as good, or doesn't reach the quality of 'Dunces and Dragons'. It doesn't have to. There is nothing really wrong with the episode and I think it doesn't deserve all the crap it gets.

Only bad thing is that Dead Eye isn't intimidating at all. He only had a whip and was 2 inches tall. Maybe give him a gang, have his eye be HUGE (like 6 feet tall,) or this (which I consider the best option,) In the beginning, Spongebob/Spongebuck gives Western Mr. Krabs at the Krusty Kantina some of his chile to try which is spicy. Chile is the Western Krabby Patty in Spongebob. Maybe make PLANKTON serve his OWN kind of Chile called "Chum Chillie." That would've been funny. And instead of that dumb old whip as a weapon, have the Chum Chile as his weapon. Also, that standoff could've been a LOT better if instead of Spongebuck beating Dead Eye by accidentally stepping on him, Spongebuck and Dead Eye have a war of the Chile by flinging it it. Since in old Western Movies there are guns, the Chile could've been a SUBSTITUTE for the guns. Other than that, a classic episode in my opinion. Highly reccomend watching it. Thanks for reading!
