SpongeBob's Truth or Square is a 2009 made-for-television comedy special and an hour-long episode of the American animated television series SpongeBob SquarePants Liked the celebrities, but the Patchy segment wasn't that good.

This episode could've been amazing. SpongeBob and his friends going to Atlantis? How does that sound like a bad episode? What makes this idea so bad? Well... filler.

Frustrating episodes are worse than boring ones. Truth or Square is boring. This episode is frustrating. So it's worse than Truth or Square. We really should raise this episode to #1, because it's clearly the worst. And Atlantis Squarepantis is easily worse than Truth or Square, so this is my list (worst to best):

2. Atlantis Squarepantis
3. Truth or Square (only this high because it wasted 1 hour of my life, with the other episodes wasting less time)
4. Ghoul Fools (extremely underhated special)
5. Squirrel Jelly (Sandy at her worst)
6. The Clash of Triton (extremely cringey)
7. Back to the Past (a complete mess, stupid episode)
8. Spongebob Squarepants vs. The Big One (just boring)
9. Spongebob You're Fired (boring and annoying)
10. Have You Seen This Snail (too sad and painfully slow pacing, a couple of good jokes keep it at a solid spot)

This is the worst episode on the list. Episodes from the miniseries The Legends of Bikini Bottom and Spongebob's Runaway Roadtrip are on this list, although they aren't specials, and they're way too high on this list. The Battle of Bikini Bottom and Spongebob vs the Patty Gadget are on here, although they aren't specials, and they are great episodes. A VIDEOGAME is on this list, although Spongebob Squarepants vs the Big One is awful. Also, some GREAT specials are on this list, like A Squarepants Family Vacation, Frozen Face - Off, The Great Patty Caper, Party Pooper Pants, Ugh, Dunces and Dragons, Spongebob's Last Stand, It Came From Goo Lagoon (which is NOT titled Goo Lagoon) and Pest of the West are on this list. I'm not mentioning the good episodes from the two miniseries, Spongebob vs the Patty Gadget and The Battle of Bikini Bottom because they aren't specials. The worst special in my opinion. Lazy writing, unlikable characters, check!
I think the "face" scene is the worst part of this episode.
The whole Legends of Bikini Bottom special was just a let down.
A relatively new episode, and my least favorite special of all time. Sandy is HORRIBLE in this one, and after that part ends, the second part of the episode is even more creepy. The whole episode is a mess and I just waited for it to end. In post sequel Spongebob, the characters are even worse, especially Sandy and Spongebob. Sandy is portrayed more as a scientist and gets no more karate episodes, and when the writers try to give Sandy a non science episode, they make her cruel, abusive and worse than Patrick and Mr. Krabs ever were. In Sportz, she was also extremely abusive and cruel, but it worked there because she was getting revenge on Squidward for torturing Spongebob and Patrick. In this episode, Spongebob and Patrick are again tortured, but this time by Sandy, and she has no redeeming quality at all. I personally have no problems with this episode, except for one thing: the whole cast is using Gary, the equivalent of a house cat, as a sled dog.
The worst character in this episode was Patrick.

Pieguy called it his 2nd least favorite in the season, and I understand why. I have no idea why did I have to put it on here? It's terrible. The painful pacing, the lack of good jokes, and it's a complete mess with all that time travelling and stuff. This shouldn't have been a 14 minute special, this probably should have been an 8 minute short. Vote for this!

I'm confused I first watched this episode than saw all the love it got and I'm just confused.
Ending was both weird and bad.
I remember that the original plot was that the Flying Dutchman appeared at the beginning and told SpongeBob about the houseboat with gold, but warns of a ghost, named Lord Poltergeist. The plot is then similar to the actual episode: SpongeBob goes to the Krusty Krab, tells everyone, and Mr. Krabs decides to steal the gold. After Lord P. says "Stop right there!" they walk through him, and SpongeBob is annoyed at their selfishness. When coming back to the Krusty Krab, Lord P. and his crew appear to retake their gold.
I kind of like this plot better.
An underhated episode. It is terrible and it should be higher. It's not funny, it's creepy and I hate the ending. Review of other specials on the list:
Truth or Square - horrible. Not the worst, but it's probably #1 because it's a bigger waste of time
Whobob Whatpants - terrible. Probably the worst special on this list
Party Pooper Pants - a great episode with great jokes, great pacing, a great song, great Patchy segments, great SpongeBob segments, everything about this episode is great! Why is it on here?

This episode is so underrated. Weren’t the songs just beautiful and relaxing?! And patchy scenes were hilarious! That plot twist at the end! OLD MAN JENKINS! I thought the fact that the bikini bottomites thought he owed them favours was apart of the comedy in the episode. This episode never gets old, seriously guys watch it again and you will see how wonderful it is

I'm watching the laziest 2-minute special with the cheesiest dialogue of spongebob history.
This was supposed to be a 30-minute special, but the writer was so lazy that he made it 2 minutes.
This isn't a special, it's a season 5 short but it's amazing.
