Nothing against Kelly Marie Tran, she just did her job, and she did it well. In fact before this quote I actually really liked Rose Tico. Now, I'm kind of split on whether her character is good or bad, and I'm waiting for Episode IX.

Instead, they had Kylo gain "redemption", cause his mother's death, kiss Rey, and satisfy the cries of the people who romanticize this line.
