Top Ten Worst Teams of the 2019-2020 NHL Season

This season has led to some very disappointing teams. And also some teams that were predicted to be crap, and are crap. Sadly, the Habs will make it into this list. :( At least they might get Lafreniere. Anyways (I'm getting sidetracked), what team is in your eyes the worst team of the 2019-2020 NHL season.

The Top Ten

1 Detroit Red Wings The Detroit Red Wings are a professional ice hockey team based in Detroit, Michigan. They are members of the Atlantic Division in the Eastern Conference of the National Hockey League and are one of the Original Six teams of the league.

They are brutally tanking in historic numbers giving up goals on consistent nights. It will take a little bit for the Red Wings to return to their glory days. - htoutlaws2012

I remember them losing so much this year and the 12 game, 8 game and 6 game losing streak they had this season - trains45

The Red Wings are on pace to have 50 points at the end of the season, which is an embarrassingly low number. I feel it's quite safe to say that they will finish last in the league. But who knows.
We might be looking at the future team of Lafreniere. I hope not, I don't need any more competition for my Habbies. - TheHabsFan

2 Los Angeles Kings The Los Angeles Kings are a professional ice hockey team based in Los Angeles, California. They are members of the Pacific Division of the Western Conference of the National Hockey League.

To think that 10 years ago they were Cup contenders and then Cup winners. It's not that hard to believe, but it is weird. I wonder what Drew Doughty would've thought back then. Lol. - TheHabsFan

3 Ottawa Senators The Ottawa Senators (French: Sénateurs d'Ottawa) are a professional ice hockey team based in Ottawa, Ontario. They compete in the National Hockey League (NHL) as a member of the Atlantic Division of the Eastern Conference. The Senators play their home games at the 18,652-seat Canadian Tire Centre, ...read more.

It's even weirder to think that the Senators almost made it to the finals three years back, and now their utter crap. So sad, I was hardcore cheering for them back then. The Sens would be a great fit for Lafreniere, but again, I hope that doesn't happen. - TheHabsFan

4 New Jersey Devils The New Jersey Devils are a professional ice hockey team based in Newark, New Jersey. They compete in the National Hockey League (NHL) as a member of the Metropolitan Division of the Eastern Conference. The club was founded as the Kansas City Scouts in Kansas City, Missouri, in 1974. The Scouts moved ...read more.

Even when they still had Taylor Hall at the beginning of the season, they were pretty bad. But now that they're without him, they are even worse. They've been bouncing around too much recently. But they did get some good picks in return for Hall. Let's see where they go from here. - TheHabsFan

5 Anaheim Ducks The Anaheim Ducks are a professional ice hockey team based in Anaheim, California. They compete in the National Hockey League (NHL) as a member of the Pacific Division of the Western Conference. Since their inception, the Ducks have played their home games at the Honda Center.

This is my least favorite nhl team, they gave me lots of anxiety since 2017 playoffs first by sweeping the flames in the playoffs, then having a comeback over oilers in game 5, and then they had 3 comebacks over oilers after that, gave me flashbacks to game 5, and became the team I dislike on nov 23, 2018, makes me happy to see them in 6th, 7th or 8th, of the pacific division, and being out of the playoffs spots - trains45

Anaheim is doing much worse than I expected so far this year, though they did trade Perry. It's really weird for me seeing them so crappy. But I'm happy, I hated them for dominating the Flames for so many years. - TheHabsFan

6 Montreal Canadiens The Montreal Canadiens (French: Les Canadiens de Montréal) are a professional ice hockey team based in Montreal, Quebec. They compete in the National Hockey League (NHL) as a member of the Atlantic Division of the Eastern Conference.

They had such a great start to the season, why did it have to go so wrong!? They're just way too up and down this year, 8 game winning streak, 8 game losing streak, and then repeat. It's so annoying! But I'm pretty sure that they're out of the playoff race. The Atlantic is just way too strong, you have to be a really good team to make the playoffs in the Atlantic at the moment. I'm hoping they keep losing games and end up getting Lafreniere. I know that that's major wishful thinking, but what else can you do when your team stinks. Sorry my Habbies, but you not doing anything this year. Go Habs Go! - TheHabsFan

7 Minnesota Wild The Minnesota Wild are a professional ice hockey team based in Saint Paul, Minnesota. They are members of the Central Division of the Western Conference of the National Hockey League.

There is a reason no Minnesota Sports team is good in the winter they get drunk I am pretty sure this team is drunk - RawIsgore

This one has been a long time coming. They definitely have some great talent on the team, but they just don't have enough, especially with Dubnyk not playing as well as he used to. Though, I feel in a few years they'll be back up and kicking. - TheHabsFan

8 New York Rangers The New York Rangers are a professional ice hockey team based in New York City. They compete in the National Hockey League (NHL) as a member of the Metropolitan Division of the Eastern Conference. The team plays its home games at Madison Square Garden in the borough of Manhattan, an arena they share ...read more.

They're doing a bit better than I thought, bit they're still doing pretty lame. Lundqvist is getting a bit too old to play like he used to, and they have lost a lot of great players over the past couple years. - TheHabsFan

9 San Jose Sharks The San Jose Sharks are a professional ice hockey team based in San Jose, California. They are members of the Pacific Division of the Western Conference of the National Hockey League.

Now, this is by far the most disappointing team of the 2019-2020 NHL season. What is up with them? Yes, I guess Martin Jones isn't the greatest goalie, but Karlsson, Burns, Couture, Kane, Hertl, Meier! That's a lot of great talent. I think this is just a temporary hump for them, they'll get over it, but they better do it fast if they want to make the playoffs! - TheHabsFan

10 Columbus Blue Jackets The Columbus Blue Jackets are a professional ice hockey team based in Columbus, Ohio. They are members of the Metropolitan Division of the Eastern Conference of the National Hockey League. The Blue Jackets were founded as an expansion team in 2000.

As of writing this, they're 17th in the league! How? I'm quite impressed, but how could it last. I don't think it will. But who knows? I just don't get how they can be doing so well after losing Bobrovsky and Panarin. I guess they do have Korpisalo, he's playing great. - TheHabsFan

The Contenders

11 Pittsburgh Penguins The Pittsburgh Penguins (colloquially known as the Pens) are a professional ice hockey team based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. They compete in the National Hockey League (NHL) as a member of the Metropolitan Division of the Eastern Conference. The Penguins are one of two NHL franchises in Pennsylvania, ...read more.
