Top Ten Worst Things About Audio Ads

The Top Ten

1 They lag the page

Just to play the audio, it uses up memory in the browser and slows the page down. - NuMetalManiak

2 The sound comes out of nowhere

You are viewing a page and all of a sudden you hear sound? From where? It's a good thing that Chrome tells you if sound is playing on a tab though. - NuMetalManiak

3 More and more websites that support ads use them

Even this site. But at least this site doesn't have multiple ads everywhere, unlike a few others where there could be two or more ads playing. - NuMetalManiak

4 Some of them don't have pause or mute buttons

It's a saving grace to have a pause button on certain ads, but not all of them have a pause or mute button. - NuMetalManiak

5 They play on music streaming services

And I'm not talking about audio "commercials" like the ones on Pandora, I mean these ads could play WHILE the music is playing! - NuMetalManiak

6 Audio ads practically divert your attention to them

You can ignore most ads that are placed on webpage sidebars, because they can easily be ignored, but the sound from audio ads makes you wonder where it's coming from. - NuMetalManiak

7 The ads in question aren't appealing to the majority of people who view the site that has them
