Top 10 Worst Things About Geeks + Gamers YouTube Channel

The Youtube channel known as Geeks + Gamers is a fairly well known channel, mostly for putting out tonnes of rant videos related to Disney's Star Wars amongst other things. I myself am not a fan of this channel (I prefer watching real reviewers myself), so here's ten reasons why I think it's a dreadful channel that belongs in the bin.
The Top Ten
1 He makes dozens of videos just to hate on modern day Star Wars

It's OK to dislike a movie and to be vocal about it, but to put out multitudes of videos on pretty much the same topic? We get it, you didn't like The Last Jedi. Please stop shoving it down our throats. At the end of the day it shows a degree of over-obsessive hatred and spreading constant negativity towards a franchise he supposedly loves. Does that sound like something a "Fan" would do?

2 He treats his opinion like it's fact, and thinks those who disagree are idiots

This level of arrogance really bugs me. A lot of reviewers state their opinion on something, but also allow others to discuss what they thought, whether they agree or disagree. G+G thinks his opinion is the only one that matters, regardless of what any fan or critic has to say, and if your opinion is different he thinks you're an idiot with an inferior opinion. I mean not liking something is fine, but why spoil it for those who do like it? Why can't other people be happy with something just because you're not happy with it? What the hell makes you the highest authority?

3 He's an enabler for a lot of negativity in the Star Wars fandom

We all know that the Star Wars fanbase can be very loud and vocal, however that can sometimes mean spamming abuse towards those who like the newer movies and just being generally unpleasant. While he may not abuse people to the extent that the trolls do, he still doesn't seem to have a problem with them. By instead ranting on those who call out these bad eggs, he makes them feel welcome within the community, thus allowing them to continue spreading their hate-fueled bile without fear of consequence.

4 His victim complex

His opinions on movies may not be the most popular, but he plays victim to the Nth degree, acting as though he's being attacked for his opinion. Yet he's perfectly OK with other people getting attacked for having an opinion different to his. The level of selfishness in this one.

5 The immature way he responds to criticism

When people call him out for being overly-obsessive on hating the new Star Wars movies (which is I think fair to say) he gets all angry and defensive. I wouldn't mind so much if he actually responds to criticism in a mature manner, but instead he feels the need to act like an edgy online troll and throw around insults (honestly, the way he responded to John Campea made me want to throttle him).

6 His videos fuel confirmation bias

It's OK to be apprehensive about a movie before it comes out, but when you trash a movie to the degree that he does it gets to a point where he actively wants the movie to be bad, otherwise if it's good he'll look foolish, like "OK, the movie's actually good, please disregard my previous 20+ videos saying it will suck."

7 His refusal to condemn a lot of the toxicity in the Star Wars fandom

We all know a small portion of Star Wars fanbase can be toxic at times, especially those online trolls who harass and bully the cast members (like Jake Lloyd, Ahmed Best and most recently Kelly Marie Tran). He is so quick to trash Rian Johnson and the cast members for calling out the haters, but won't call out the abusive online trolls, because God forbid he ever go after someone on "His side".

8 He cares more about milking drama than actually discussing things he's passionate about

Why make dozens of videos ranting about Star Wars when you could only get the point across in a few videos? At this point it feels like he makes these videos not because he wants to unite the fanbase, not because he's concerned about the current state of Hollywood, but because he just wants to make as much money as possible by milking drama for all it's worth.

9 His click-bait rubbish

This one is pretty standard. Because of the way Youtube's algorithm works his type of videos often get pushed into the forefront. So the best way for him to stir up outrage is to make a video, give it a title that's loud and vocal, and sold off controversy.

10 He complains about Hollywood movies pushing agendas, yet he pushes his own agendas all the time

Says it all really. One of the main reasons he trashes modern Hollywood movies is he always sees some sort of insidious left-wing agenda (even when it's not there), and treats it as though it's being forced on everyone. Yet it's OK for him to push his own Anti-SJW agenda on everyone, as he thinks because he's "right" that makes this double standard OK.
