Worst Things About "Parental Advisory: Explicit Content" Labels On Music

RustyNail

The Top Ten

1 Parents don't want to buy it because it has explicit lyrics

Are you kidding, people think music is the worst thing to have kids here curse words. There is so many other things that kids will here bad words ( my parents don't care if its got explicit or not, I buy the albums anyway) - RustyNail

2 You have to be 21 or older to buy it in some stores

I know this from experience, I wanted to buy The album" Undertow" by alternative metal band Tool. I knew it had curse words. And the girl took it and put it under the counter, told me I couldn't buy it without a parent or guardian. And I knew that undertow had risky artwork in it. So what did I do, I went to a store next door and bought it, no problem asked - RustyNail

I bought blood sugar sex magik when I was 9 and some lady at the counter said my mom was bad. She curse her out and I was happy red hot chili peppers rules and I bought explict albums ever since so

I brought megadeth killing is my buisness when I was 5 and the employee didn't care

I actually got carded for buying a Biggie Smalls CD.

3 People think that if it has that label, it has tons of explicit stuff even though that may not be true
4 People start to stereotype the band, artist or genre of music and think that explicit lyrics is all it is

Rock, metal, hip hop, mainly - RustyNail

5 People buy the clean version of that album

Nothing worse than censored music. The artists put a lot of thought into every word of their songs, and taking parts out is hugely disrespectful - Shake_n_Bake13

This is what would do. Either that or the instrumental version. I've never been fond of explicit lyrics. - RiverClanRocks

I hate those, I want to hear the music untouched, what if the chorus has a curse word. The whole damn song is ruined. Examples are Slipknots " People=shit", and Puddle of Mudds " She Hates Me" - RustyNail

6 There are way worse ways kids and other people can hear explicit content

T.V., on the street, family, school, work, home, you get the point - RustyNail

7 They are a waste of time

Look I get it, why they have them I mean. But in this day in age people curse all the time in music - RustyNail

My family and friends cuss more than slipknot

8 When people buy the clean version, they buy an altered version of the song

I hate it when that happens. A waste of 10 bucks

9 They cover up a part of the album cover
