Top 10 Worst Things About Sonic X

If you are a person reading this and are thinking that Sonic X is awesome, then that’s great. Just remember that this is my dumb opinion on this show.

The Top Ten

1 Chris Thorndyke Chris Thorndyke Chris Thorndyke is a fictional character and the main human protagonist of the Anime series based on the Sonic the Hedgehog series created by Sega, Sonic X.

He is so not a bad character. He's a 12-year-old kid who has for years been unintentionally neglectd by his clueless wealthy parents, and Chris' huge desire for parental love and close companionship not being present much as a child lead him to developing emotional hang-ups and insecurity problems from years of parental negligence and loneliness. He may have been given a little too much focus in some episodes, but at least the other characters still got quite plenty of of spotlight to make this show awesome. - Jeff35122

He takes over more than Sonic, making Sonic seem like a secondary character. He also has an irritating voice, which really gets to me a lot. I’m sure that even some Sonic Fans can agree with me

2 Some of the voice actors have given the characters annoying voices

The original Japanese is obviously better, but the 4Kids voices are for me the main highlight on the English Dub. - Jeff35122

Two examples of this are Chris and Amy’s voices in the English Dub, and oh my gosh, is it annoying

3 Amy Rose Amy Rose Amy Rose is a fictional character in Sega's Sonic the Hedgehog series. She is a pink anthropomorphic hedgehog with a cheerful, competitive personality, and is infatuated with the series' main character, Sonic. She serves as the first playable female character in the series.

Amy is worse than Chris. At least Chris is more nicer and actually has character development of where he learns to stop being so dependent on Sonic, while Amy just gets worse as the show progresses, and she is overly-obsessive about Sonic. - Jeff35122

If you thought Chris was annoying, then you’ll hate Amy in this show. Seriously, she can’t just shut up about Sonic for one second. She’s very clingy and has the most irritating voice in the show. She also swings her hammer, almost hurting people just because she doesn’t get her way. She’s very immature and whiny

4 Sonic sits around and does nothing for most of the time

Chris is one of the reasons why this happens, he takes up lots of screen time. Sonic also is pretty lazy and kind of a show off, but still this is just my opinion

All Sonic mostly does in his free time is taking it easy and running around the planet exploring new places because that is another thing that defines him: his carefree and free-roaming nature. - Jeff35122

Not true at all. Sonic is always exploring new places on Earth, following his free-roaming nature, and stopping Dr. Eggman at all costs. - Jeff35122

5 It’s the same plot for the majority of the show: Get the chaos emeralds!

The show's practically adapted from the Sonic Adventure series, and it is the most faithful out of all the Sonic adaptations. And most of the Sonic games around the time had the Chaos Emeralds as a very important role in the modern games. - Jeff35122

I understand that it’s important for them to get the emeralds, but come on! Can’t they do anything else?

Yeah, they did do other things besides Chaos Emerald searching. But for a show that is adapted from a point in the franchise where the Chaos Emeralds played a key focus to the stories, what do you expect from them being part of the story so much. - Jeff35122

6 The show revolves around the humans too much

Not really. Chris' presence in the show may almost seem like that, but the true focus of the show is on Sonic and his friends battling Eggman and foiling his plans. - Jeff35122

7 Sonic never shows any emotion or personality

He does get mad, and he does cry. He just doesn't do it much because he's just simply always very positive about things, and he always tries to never let things slow him down. That's one of his main defining character traits. - Jeff35122

He always just says “I gotta run” or “it’ll be fine.” Not that this is necessarily horrible, but he never cries, he never gets super mad, and more. He doesn’t have any emotion or personality, he just smiles and runs which is pretty emotionless to me

8 Cream rarely does anything to help

Yeah. Cream is probably the character that does the absolute least of helping. - Jeff35122

I’m sorry, but she’s the most useless Sonic character in the main cast. She’s only fought for herself in one episode, but for everything else she just sits there and says “Sonic will save us! ” And people say Peach is useless, but have they seen Cream? At least Peach has a purpose, Cream is just THERE. I know that Peach has nothing to do with this, but I had to bring up an example

9 Sonic and Tails rarely talk to each other, and it’s because of Chris

Sonic and Tails' friendship is still used frequently in Sonic X, but Chris Thorndyke's main human protagonist and audience surrogate status kind of shows it less. - Jeff35122

I know that I’ve mentioned a lot about Chris, but I just needed to bring this up. Chris has taken Tails’ spot as Sonic’s sidekick. Heck, he pretty much took Sonic’s spot as the main character. So why not take Tails’ spot while you’re at it?

10 There are many useless characters

There are a lot of useless Sonic characters. Even in the games, other T.V. adaptations, and video games. - Jeff35122

To list off some useless characters, here are some that serve no purpose:
• Cream
• Charmy
• Eggman’s robots
• Chris
• Ella (she’s fine, but she’s kind of useless)
• Chris’s parents
• All the humans pretty much
These are just my opinion, so yea.

The Contenders

11 Animation lacks crispness and feels forced after the first two episodes of the whole series

The show must have had not much of colossal budget. - Jeff35122

12 Cosmo the Seedrian Cosmo the Seedrian

Not a bad character. - Jeff35122

13 It can get mean-spirited

Usually when Knuckles is a butt-monkey, or if Amy is acting like a spoiled brat. - Jeff35122

14 It’s not canon
