Monthly analysis: Worst Things That Happened in 2020: February

NuMetalManiak Did anyone think that this month lasted forever? I certainly did. Anyways it's the end of February which means it's time to look at this list once again and sift out things that belong and things that don't belong.

What deserves to be at the top 10?

1. Coronavirus Outbreak
2. Australian Bushfires Continue
3. Taal Volcano eruption
4. Death of Kobe Bryant
5. YouTube COPPA Update Released
6. Support for Windows 7 Ended
7. The Assassination of Soleimani
8. Thailand Mall Shooting
9. Warehouse of Relief Supplies from 2017 Found in Puerto Rico
10. Ukrainian Boeing 737 Plane Crash in Iran

Well my list from the last monthly analysis won't change apart from Coronavirus now hitting the top spot. Australia got record-breaking rainfall this month, which contributed to the wildfires being put out, meanwhile Coronavirus has hit Europe and is all over the news as usual. UPDATE: I have decided to replace the Impeachment thing with the Thailand Mall Shooting. It is the newest addition to the Worst Things remix I would eventually make, and since the impeachment is officially over we can move on from that. I have also decided to rearrange a few other things as they fell out of favor.

Famous deaths now on the list:
Pop Smoke: Rapper who was apparently murdered during a burglary, 20
Caroline Flack: Host of Love Island, 40
Fred Silverman: TV Executive, 82
Diego Farias: Guitarist from Volumes, 27
Kirk Douglas: Screenwriter and actor, 103
Raphaël Coleman: Actor and climate activist, 25
Harry Hains: American Horror Story actor, 27
Hilarion Vendégou: French politician, 78
Orson Bean: Veteran actor, 91

Pop Smoke and Diego were the two ones that were surprising, at least to me. Harry Hains also died young. Kirk Douglas is probably the most revered of these people, and he did live a very long life. Now let's see the tragedies that happened this month.

Tragedies that happened:
Thailand Mall Shooting - 29 dead, 58 wounded

What? Only one? Yikes. Although it was the deadliest mass shooting thus far this list does not have any more major tragedies added to it. And that's quite surprising. Although I could've bumped this new event to my eventual top 10 too.

Still though the rest of this list has things that really don't matter. Astros Cheating Scandal? People outside sports really do not care at all. Patriots being eliminated from playoffs? Maybe try again next year? And we don't need stories of online breakups. Anyways, see you guys in March.

No offense, but I feel like the YouTube Coppa rule isn’t the worse thing that could’ve happened in 2020. There’s been worse this year - Manlypants

I put it up there because I know of all the outcries against YouTube (which is still ongoing, seems the higher-ups refuse to listen to most of their userbase). And yes there's definitely going to be worse to come. February in truth was a surprisingly tame month aside from the coronavirus thing.

Let's hope I survive March. - NuMetalManiak
