Top 10 Worst US States to Live In

ReganTheBeast
This is the 10 worst US states to live in, if you ever consider moving to the US don't move to these states. Period, Trust me...

The Top Ten

1 New Jersey New Jersey New Jersey is a state in the northeastern and mid-Atlantic regions of the United States. It is bordered on the north and east by New York, on the southeast and south by the Atlantic Ocean, on the west by Pennsylvania, and on the southwest by Delaware.

New Jersey has gangs and violence and terror and organized crime starting to kids and school and getting worse, so bad people can't believe it, search 'Cherry Hill Nazis' to see where the worst one in US lives. Judges and DCPP kidnap children for $10k per month and use history's worst medical terror on parents and the children, Bergen County recent example, lookup New Jersey Child Welfare Kidnapping and see how they are so bad people can't believe it until they talk to others in the neighborhoods or it happens to them, dcpp comes in the night illegally abducts children screaming as they are taken ripped away from parents arms by corrupt rotten and killer police - whose police chief shot his wife in the head in Englewood, Bergen County, claiming suicide and when they came to get him he killed him self - when they're not shooting kids in front of schools with their hands raised (Teaneck). Anyone who likes New Jersey has simply never had experience with the corruption, crime or terror ...more

JDL too, 40 hate groups most in Bergen County and many neo-Nazi and reverse hate groups, ISIS and al Qaeda arrests, FBI Targets Hackensack schools to stop ISIS infiltration and videos (search Web), regular bomb threats to schools and Bergen County Court House against worst judges in US (leave schools out of it! ) corruption with 40 arrested including 3 mayors, several assistant mayors, 5 Rabbis and selling body parts, Bergen County police almost kill State Police officer who came to help people from them on State Highway on you tube. To be caught in the middle of all that hate is not a good place to be and it starts young in NJ schools. All those office posts 'it's such a nice place with nice schools' getting old. Chrsitie disliked *even more* than the last NJ Governors even though they set set historic lows in the polls. 80% think Christie doesn't care about them because the other 20% KNOW Christie doesn't care about them.

It's the biggest of gay

This state is run by Democrats, almost a million of its residents live in poverty, most cramped state in terms of traffic (4th smallest state in the nation! ), and Camden looks like a ghost town! I don't live here, but I don't think I wanna live or even move here! Hell no way!

2 Mississippi Mississippi

The flag has a confederate flag

This should be the most voted since it is poor and the walmarts are built in terrible condition

3 California California

It's full of communists and anti-Americans, that's a no go for me. - Stalin

Really? I need to clear something up. When people think of California, they assume the WHOLE GIGANTIC STATE is like Los Angeles. Their mind automatically goes to South LA, which is known for being trashy, dumpy, ghetto, full of traffic and illegal immigrants, polluted and full of famous people with plastic surgery.

That couldn't be further from the truth. That's like saying all of Michigan is like Detroit and Flint. When I think of California, I think of the snowcapped mountains, pristine beaches, Disneyland, towering redwood trees, sunsets, In N Out, and other things that make California an awesome state. I live in the city of Orange, CA (it's in North OC) and it is clean, family oriented, extremely safe, etc. I'm a 10 minute drive from Disneyland, and the schools in Orange are great. No traffic issues. I love living here.

I went to CA to study. Guess what? That was the worst decision I made in my life literally. Expensiveness, crime, pollution, homelessness...Honestly, I you think CA is the ideal place, you are not mature or do not travel to outside world.

Yup. All the wildfires, earthquakes and droughts make the state hell. Not to mention the corrupt liberals and government? Need I say more? This state is crap, and when people call this the best state, they tend to think of only vacation spots.

4 Louisiana Louisiana

High crime rate, High taxes, Too hot and hardly anything to do. 2nd least friendly state for children and is only getting worse. - ReganTheBeast

I think this sounds like the stupidest place to live ever

It's basically a gigantic swamp.

It's the toilet of America, in my opinion. After all, it flushes out our largest river. - JustAnAccount

5 Arizona Arizona Arizona is a U.S. state in the southwestern region of the United States. It is also part of the Western and the Mountain states.

What desert wasteland? There is no such thing if you look past Phoenix. I've lived here for three years plus, and I love it. I've lived in New York, Maine, Nevada and California and each and every state have wonderful treasures to share with everyone. I have been in all the states of the lower 48 and love each state of our beautiful country. Have a wonderful day exploring our beautiful country. God Bless America.

There's Phoenix, and the rest is boring, rural wasteland and desert, except for maybe the Grand Canyon and Hoover Dam or something. - JustAnAccount

Worst place ever. Lived here all my life and it's a ghetto desert wasteland.

I live here and agree. - WWEfanJayden

6 Alabama Alabama Alabama is a state located in the southeastern region of the United States. It is bordered by Tennessee to the north, Georgia to the east, Florida and the Gulf of Mexico to the south, and Mississippi to the west.

Worst state in America trash and the redneck stereotype there is not really a stereotype it's true

I'm from Alabama myself. Honestly, what people have said about this is just. RUDE. We're not all INBRED and DISGUSTING. A lot of us are actually good people.

This state is known for incests and all that. And even Sweet Home Alabama was even a thing now. Let's hope FBI will going to arrest the whole state.

Alabama is redneck, dirty, ugly, and you're lucky if you see people wearing shoes. There is nothing to do.

7 Texas Texas Texas is a state in the USA. It is the second largest by area and population. Its largest city is Houston.

I cannot stand texas! I was born and raised here, had a few bad experiences and I definitely can't wait to leave here. It's just not for me, sorry people that live in Texas that have Texan pride.

Texas is the greatest state in the country. Great food, places to visit, and a nice place to live despite the weather. - KeyboardHero

Wanna hear a joke? The people who voted Texas to be in the top ten HAHAAHAHAA

Like California, it seems that most of the hate that Texas gets is based on politics, and hating a state for simply because it leans right or left in regards to politics isn't a good reason to hate it.

8 Illinois Illinois Illinois is a state in the midwestern region of the United States. It is the 5th most populous state and 25th largest state in terms of land area, and is often noted as a microcosm of the entire country.

Crime, taxes, debt, corruption, Democrats, Cub fans. Should I go on?

Stalinist police state. Need I say more?

If Chicago seceded from Illinois (not going to happen) then the state would be the most boring in America. - Smash64

9 Florida Florida

Criminal, corrupt, terror, 100 times worse than fascist Nazis, 100 times worse than Stalinist police state, 100 times worse than 1984, 100 times worse than Hunger Games whenever can get away with it - and that's just your boss! This isn't pre-civil war! New Jersey sends people to kill Floridians in both North and South Florida. Actually those killers are already in Florida including the 1/2 from New Jersey that are so bad can't stay there. New York's worst --goes to New Jersey's worst --goes to Florida. They don't like that in North Florida. Not just corrupt NJ Senator Menendez or the NJ Menendez brothers who moved to Beverly Hills. A few other snowbirds just want warmer weather and now Florida is just South New Jersey when North and Central New Jersey didn't have room for them and terrorized them out.

Bipolar weather, full of old people, crime ridden cities, not the most ideal place to live in the US but at least we have theme parks. - UberHamster

Florida is overrated. The beaches in Alabama are so much better. - Smash64

Hurricane is so DUMB!

Nevada should be in the top 10, its pretty dangerous in las vegas - Heyo_Simba

Other than Vegas this place is dreadful. So dry and brown. No vegetation or anything pretty. But hey Vegas is great place to cum to

11 Alaska Alaska Alaska is a U.S. state situated in the northwest extremity of the Americas. The Canadian administrative divisions of British Columbia and Yukon border the state to the east; it has a maritime border with Russia to the west across the Bering Strait.

Alaska is a beautiful state with the northern lights and very wealthy in natural resources but also has a very high crime and suicide rate. So not a great place to live but it's a definitely great state to visit. - countnightdark13

Lot's of personal space in the summer - not many people live there. But in the winter you'll be under several feet of snow... - JustAnAccount

What do you expect people? An amusement park? It's Alaska for pete's sake... - TopTenHaters

12 Ohio Ohio Ohio is a state in the midwestern region of the United States. Ohio is the 34th largest by area, the 7th most populous, and the 10th most densely populated of the 50 United States.

I've had the misfortune of living in this open-air dump called Ohio all my life. The job market sucks, as does the weather. The politicians are greedy and incompetent and the people are worthless, fat, ugly inbred trash of all colors. They should rename it Blowhio.

Boring as hell and the weather is so wacky here. Come here if you want to experience all seasons at once. - UberHamster

Three words.

The Paul Brothers.

Most depressing state ever
if you like clouds, ugly scenery and vitamin d deficiency than this is the place for you!

14 Arkansas Arkansas Arkansas is a state located in the Southeastern region of the United States. Its name is of Siouan derivation, denoting the Quapaw Indians.

I live here, and I hate it. The amount of rednecks and poverty is high. Also, the humidity is unbearable. There is absolutely nothing to do AT ALL. No theme parks, no beaches, no mountains, no forests, nothing. Little Rock is full of murder and crime, and it's severely ghetto. Finally, Arkansas is EXTREMELY depressed.

Poverty, rednecks, crime, heat, earthquakes is enough for Arkansas to make it. - ReganTheBeast

A boring rural patch of nature, high poverty, populated by white trash.
Worst place to rent in the USA. Bad thunderstorms and cold, icy springs and winters.

Where I from its lot murder and a lot of crime but I swear to god if I make my state gone shine shout of to little rock aka lil raq

15 Wisconsin Wisconsin Wisconsin is a U.S. state located in the north-central United States, in the Midwest and Great Lakes regions.

I Have been to all 50 states at least TWICE in my adult life and can say without reservation that Wisconsin is one of the best run, most organized, cleanest, and enjoyable parts of the country. Even the weather is not too bad 9/12 of the year (no hurricanes, small earth tremors, seldom drought, only humidity and the occasional blizzard). Wisconsin is on the cutting edge of education, economics, tourism, politics, cheese, and beer. No other state in the union has as much going for it!

Wisconsin is nice. it is just weather the weather is kinda bad

Wisconsin still has nice spots but Walker has definitely hurt the education system and work environment. Their SAT scores went from 2nd highest in the nation to 41st in one year! Losing jobs at an alarming rate.

Wisconsin is least corrupt!

16 Oklahoma Oklahoma

So many tornadoes! - Smash64

Rednecks and tornadoes reside here.

Oklahoma is full of inconsiderate idiots. You can see it in how we treat each other, in how we drive, and in our politicians. Only in oklahoma does Mary Fallin get elected twice! We can't pass education reform, but we can fight all day about religious monuments on the capitol grounds. I've been able to travel all over the US and no place sucks as much as oklahoma. Don't believe me? Visit once and find out! It does t matter if you pick the smallest town to OKC or Tulsa, the rest of the US should build a wall around it and let the purge happen.

Oklahoma isn't expensive, it's very inexpensive to live HERE-as I'm a resident of Oklahoma. Whoever wrote that is an idiot and doesn't know what they are talking about. It may be full of some poor people, but so is every state! Also it's not boring, and as for being a redneck society, I'd rather be redneck than inbred like you seem to be.

I live in Maryland I have to agree. Crimes are committed. Why do you think we have a lot more shootings (Not only school shootings) in MD? - Ilovestephanie

What the heck?! Maryland is one of the best states in the US! Plus, it's flag is beautiful and unique.

Maryland is the best!
Maryland > Massachusetts/New York

All those troubles can be blame on Washington D.C.

19 Hawaii Hawaii Hawaii is the 50th and most recent state of the United States of America, receiving statehood on August 21, 1959.

Worse than Iran or Mexico.

It's beautiful, my wife and I honeymooned there. Loved visiting there, not so sure I'd want to live there. So far away from everything! Also, it's very expensive and many places are tourist traps. That said, Hawaii's positives are pretty obvious. Plus, the people were super-friendly (we were on Maui)...

There are spots to avoid. Those places are Waianae, Wahiawa, and Makaha. There are some more to name, like Honolulu if you're super impatient. Then, there are awesome places like the northern side of Oahu, and other places in the competition. There is one massive problem, it's always expensive here. Trust me, I'm a local from Hawaii.

20 Massachusetts Massachusetts Massachusetts, officially the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, is the most populous state in the New England part of the northeastern region of the United States.

Reasons to like Massachusetts.

1) awesome history. Massachusetts was where the American revolution started and much of our historical heritage. The battle of bunker hill and the battle of concord bridge were fought here and many of the founding fathers were born and razed here.

2) there is no racism here. Most people in Massachusetts are of Italian or Irish descent, but there are large black, Asian and Hispanic minorities here. We all treat ourselves with respect regardless of race, religion or ethnicity and there has never been any major discrimination (which is more than some Alabamans and Mississippians can say).

3) we are the second most tolerant state in the country when it comes to gay, lesbian and bisexual rights (California being number one)

4) best hospitals and medical facilities not only In the country but in the WORLD. We have Boston children's hospital, bargemen women's, Boston general hospital and almost ten other ones known around the world ...more

Filled with snobby bastards and hypocrites. Avoid! Go to Rhode Island instead.

Massachusetts > New York
- Come live in Massachusetts and avoid New York at all cost!

Massachusetts is more shunned than respected.

21 Tennessee Tennessee Tennessee is a state located in the southeastern United States. Tennessee is the 36th largest and the 17th most populous of the 50 United States.

Where do I start? Rednecks, Poverty, heat, 2nd most dangerous state next to Louisiana and one of the worst governed state next to California. - ReganTheBeast

Calm down Tennesse does suck but it shouldn't be number 9 maybe number 44

22 Kansas Kansas Kansas is a U.S. state located in the Midwestern United States. It is named after the Kansa Native American tribe, which inhabited the area.

Boring, flat, stupid, horrible weather. I'm from this state and wish I could move to a place like Missouri. It's so much better than this piece of trash state.

Its gay and sucks and is boring

Most boring landscape, nothing but prairies and flat land, worst weather ever, nothing to do and everything is tiring.

Athens is pretty nice town to live in, I've been here 42 years and it's always got something going on. Downside is that it's a liberal city, but that's what you get with college kids making up a huge portion of the population.

Cobb county sucks but some parts in Cobb county are good stay out of south Cobb county

Georgia is over rated crime have got bad since a lot of people come from out of town
Every time you turn on news crime.
If you move here don't stay in the city of Down town Atlanta. School System sucks

29 Washington Washington Washington is a state in the Pacific Northwest region of the United States located north of Oregon, west of Idaho, and south of the Canadian province of British Columbia on the coast of the Pacific Ocean. It is the only state named after a president.

If you like terrible people, dreary weather and corrupt government officials (amongst many other things), then Washington is the state for you!

Washington is a beautiful country. It has great landforms and good cities. What's strange is that most of days are cold and rainy but not a lot of snow in the winter.

Washington is one of the most beautiful states in the country. Seattle is a great city, there are mountains, deserts, lakes, the ocean, caves, forests, plus lots of things to do. The only problem is the hipsters! - olliv

Washington is filled with beautiful landscapes, trees, and national parks, and it's filled with every type of land form

Just like Montana, just not as pretty and even more boring. - olliv

Isn't there a reason why there's less people, though?

Yes there is. It's boring, expensive, and and everyone from there is weird. - olliv

31 Rhode Island Rhode Island Rhode Island, officially the State of Rhode Island and Providence Plantations, is a state in the New England region of the United States.

Overburdened state.

North Carolina is great...I've lived in the mountains my whole life and I love it, I've also gone out to the beach at Oak Island almost every summer, absolutely beautiful.

It's just a less populated version of Colorado. - Smash64

Utah is actually a great place to live and visit. Greatest snow on Earth for skiing/snowboarding. More National Parks than any other state besides California. Great place to raise a family. Low amount of natural disasters. Good economy. Good Universities. Gorgeous Mountains in the north and vast deserts in the south. Very diverse landscape.

Oh come on! What can you call a state that is unwelcoming to outsiders (especially of other religious beliefs - be it atheist or Southern Baptist) and has very strict alcohol laws.

Utah should be at number 50 because it's the best state. - Heyo_Simba

34 Delaware Delaware Delaware is one of the Mid-Atlantic states located in the Northeast megalopolis region of the United States.

Horrible state to live in. Small, crappy state! The school's are pathetic, the employment opportunities are limited and the drug epidemic is hitting Delaware HARD! No place to raise a family

There is absolutely nothing wrong with Delaware - Heyo_Simba

Basically Washington D.C. x20. Nothing much to see. - JustAnAccount

35 Connecticut Connecticut

Connecticut's own mayor Daniel Malloy has raised taxes when he promised not to, The states has closed down most of it's historical places just to generate money. Connecticut is one of the highest states with the worst crime. Even though it is wholesome and friendly it's just not a great place to raise children. The state itself is going broke, and It doesn't have religious value. It's the worst state t

Basically the better version of New York. But don't plan on living there too long - high taxes, crap real estate, and all that. - JustAnAccount

36 Virginia Virginia Virginia, officially the Commonwealth of Virginia, is a state located in the South Atlantic region of the United States.

High taxes, tolls, traffic light cams tickets everyone, rent and real estate. Inflated prices, lowest salary ever! Virginia will literally drive you to the poor house, then give you a parking ticket!

37 South Dakota South Dakota

This place would be deserted without Mt. Rushmore and Sioux Falls. - Smash64

Does have the Black Hills and Mount Rushmore. So, a small portion of the state is worth mentioning (plus it takes forever to get there).

South Dakota is slightly less worse than North Dakota because of Mount Rushmore. - olliv

38 Montana Montana Montana is a state in the Western region of the United States. The state's name is derived from the Spanish word montaƱa.

I forgot Montana existed for a while and I lived there for 20 years! It's a lame and boring state full of drunken trailer trash and rich, old retired people. Billings is a poverty hellhole full of crime and drug addicts. Probably one of the worst major cities in The United States. Horribly laid out, with absolutely nothing to do or see involving the city itself.

The rest of the state isn't so bad as long as your FILTHY RICH. People here are also terrible drivers and incredibly boring! All they ever talk about is Montana, because that's all they know about.

The reason Montana has so many people in bad living conditions is because real estate is outrageously overpriced. A trailer costs about a jaw dropping $300,000 in some areas. Not a middle class friendly state. You're either poor or rich here. - olliv

39 South Carolina South Carolina South Carolina is a state in the southeastern region of the United States. The state is bordered to the north by North Carolina, to the south and west by Georgia across the Savannah River, and to the east by the Atlantic Ocean.

It may have Charleston and Hilton Head, but don't let that fool you; this place is an economic wasteland

41 Oregon Oregon Oregon is a state in the Pacific Northwest region of the United States. Oregon is bordered on the west by the Pacific Ocean, on the north by Washington, on the south by California, on the east by Idaho, and on the southeast by Nevada.

Oregon is a good place to live. However, Portland, Or used to be a much better city 15 years ago. With the rise in crime, homeless, gang activity, and illegal immigration, and constant black lash/ protesting between the left right vs. ultra liberal groups has caused me to become disenchanted with the clean, beautiful, peaceful, and vibrant city Portland once was. 10 minutes you get off the Amtrack station and start walking downtown Portland, you run right across the homeless people sitting on the sidewalk. I have even found needles littered near Amtrack station right across from the commons appartmnent building for the homeless and low income people. If Portland doesn't watch out it will become another flop house like Los Angeles. Unfortunately, Portland is the only major city in Oregon and that only leaves you with two choices you either move to a different state or move to a smaller city or town in Oregon.

42 New Hampshire New Hampshire
43 North Dakota North Dakota North Dakota is the 39th state of the United States, having been admitted to the union on November 2, 1889.

47 Minnesota Minnesota Minnesota is a state in the Midwestern United States. Minnesota was admitted as the 32nd state on May 11, 1858, created from the eastern half of the Minnesota Territory.

Love living here! Minneapolis is great, and if you know how to dress for the cold and drive in it, you can have a great time here! Beautiful scenic bluffs along the Mississippi River in the southeast part of the state, and unmatched beauty along the Lake Superior shore that inspired native son Bob Dylan's Highway 61 Revisited! There's always something to do here, Minneapolis trails only New York and Chicago in number of theaters! Have all four pro sports teams in beautiful stadiums! There are no hurricanes, not too many tornadoes, and haven't even been too many snowstorms. Plus our road maintenance crews are second to none, especially in the Twin Cities. Really shouldn't be on the list. A great place to live.

Great people, friendly city, and cold but beautiful climate

50 Colorado Colorado Colorado is a state in the United States encompassing most of the Southern Rocky Mountains as well as the northeastern portion of the Colorado Plateau and the western edge of the Great Plains.

Worse than El Salvador

Colorado is not middle class friendly. It caters to the wealth of Californians and Texans moving here by the dozens with their fat checking accounts driving up the cost of living for the natives here. The job market sucks for quality paying jobs yet the rent is almost as high as living in San Francisco.

Mega gay

Everyone here is weird, has a full tattoo sleeve and smokes marijuana. The Broncos suck! Colorado's flag sucks! Colorado sucks! - olliv

Come on, you have to admit that we have it better here, than in places like New Jersey or Kansas.
