Top 10 Worst US States to Live InReganTheBeast This is the 10 worst US states to live in, if you ever consider moving to the US don't move to these states. Period, Trust me...
The Top Ten
Corrupt government all taxes too high off the charts. There is even a exit tax when you leave. Run away government spending union controlled. don't move here!
New Jersey has gangs and violence and terror and organized crime starting to kids and school and getting worse, so bad people can't believe it, search 'Cherry Hill Nazis' to see where the worst one in US lives. Judges and DCPP kidnap children for $10k per month and use history's worst medical terror on parents and the children, Bergen County recent example, lookup New Jersey Child Welfare Kidnapping and see how they are so bad people can't believe it until they talk to others in the neighborhoods or it happens to them, dcpp comes in the night illegally abducts children screaming as they are taken ripped away from parents arms by corrupt rotten and killer police - whose police chief shot his wife in the head in Englewood, Bergen County, claiming suicide and when they came to get him he killed him self - when they're not shooting kids in front of schools with their hands raised (Teaneck). Anyone who likes New Jersey has simply never had experience with the corruption, crime or terror ...more
It really depends where is New Jersey. If you're talking south and Camden, then of course, but the north is nice because it's quiet and close to New York.
HEY! NEW JERSEY IS THE BEST!V 19 Comments
I heard it is the most racist state, some of these states might be bad, but America is the best thing ever in the history of the universe, no matter what any weird foreign people say. America has 30% taxes, which is pretty good, the government makes enough money, and we get enough money for food and a house. Also, France has 70% taxes, which is insane.
I live here and it's depressing as hell. To put it simply, either everyone is okay continuing to settle for mediocrity, or they're too ignorant to know there's better out there.
Ok I love in Rhode Island and we drove through here on our way to New Orleans. So, as you know, Rhode Island (and most of the Northeast for that matter) have some old factories, but dang, this was really bad. We drove through Jackson and the only things we saw were smog, homeless people, and white people beating up black people. Come on! This is pathetic...
There are too much killing in MS and we do have racist black and white people.V 21 Comments
Really? I need to clear something up. When people think of California, they assume the WHOLE GIGANTIC STATE is like Los Angeles. Their mind automatically goes to South LA, which is known for being trashy, dumpy, ghetto, full of traffic and illegal immigrants, polluted and full of famous people with plastic surgery.
That couldn't be further from the truth. That's like saying all of Michigan is like Detroit and Flint. When I think of California, I think of the snowcapped mountains, pristine beaches, Disneyland, towering redwood trees, sunsets, In N Out, and other things that make California an awesome state. I live in the city of Orange, CA (it's in North OC) and it is clean, family oriented, extremely safe, etc. I'm a 10 minute drive from Disneyland, and the schools in Orange are great. No traffic issues. I love living here.
I've only visited California once, but that was enough for me. It's truly the worst U.S. state! There's too many young families and gangsters around here. Everyone is the same. They all dress urban and the women all have blonde hair and a small child in a stroller. The valley girl accent is the worst accent ever! Californians are so arrogant. Everyone there is a stereotype. Too many creeps on the streets too. I was in a "nice" part of California too (on vacation in Anaheim) and I still hated it. I don't see how anyone can like this materialistic, overpriced, bad ass state. It used to be the best state in the country, but that was before the hippies took over. California, I HATE YOU! - olliv
California is full of a bunch of weirdos and illegals, and all the celebrities live there too, for some reason. Sure, there's a lot of opportunity and business there, and it's a beautiful state in most places, but earthquakes are a larger problem then people think. Sooner than later, California will be obliterated by the looming super-earthquake that could happen at San Andreas fault. - JustAnAccount
California has the lowest quality of life in the U.S. Its cities are among the most polluted in the country, too.V 20 Comments
What desert wasteland? There is no such thing if you look past Phoenix. I've lived here for three years plus, and I love it. I've lived in New York, Maine, Nevada and California and each and every state have wonderful treasures to share with everyone. I have been in all the states of the lower 48 and love each state of our beautiful country. Have a wonderful day exploring our beautiful country. God Bless America.
I live here and agree. - WWEfanJayden
There's Phoenix, and the rest is boring, rural wasteland and desert, except for maybe the Grand Canyon and Hoover Dam or something. - JustAnAccount
Worst place ever. Lived here all my life and it's a ghetto desert wasteland.V 10 Comments
High crime rate, High taxes, Too hot and hardly anything to do. 2nd least friendly state for children and is only getting worse. - ReganTheBeast
It's basically a gigantic swamp.
It's the toilet of America, in my opinion. After all, it flushes out our largest river. - JustAnAccount
I think this sounds like the stupidest place to live everV 4 Comments
I have lived in 2 other states. I could not wait to come home to the greatest state in the union. It is a multicultural state. Sure it is hot during Summer and late Spring. Our late Fall and early Springs are beautiful! Best time to visit is March and April. The landscape in central Texas are covered in Bluebonnets. Texas also provides various landscapes. We have the Hill Country, the Gulf Coast, east Texas has an array of tall Pine Trees. Our cultures run from Mexican, German, Czech, and many more. Texas is a melting pot of people. Yes, Texas as well as any state has its problems. But I would not want to live any where else.
So much arrogance and hate. Definitely wish I lived anywhere else.
I'll tell you, from experience because I've lived here all my life that this is a place to pass up. There are a few nice things about this state but they are overloaded by the bad. It is way too hot, growing number of people can't speak a word of English, yet expect you to learn Spanish to accommodate them, can't buy alcohol at certain times, drivers are some of the worst, Dallas and other areas are quickly turning into ghetto trashbags, and this state refuses to change for the better. I can't wait to move - Johnnyt800
Hurricane Harvey is why!V 18 Comments
Alabama is redneck, dirty, ugly, and you're lucky if you see people wearing shoes. There is nothing to do.
I live in Alabama, this is rude! We are NOT redneck, dirty, ugly, and YES, we wear shoes! WE ARE CIVILIZED PEOPLE! Same to other states: Every state is beautiful in it's only way!
Alabama: dive headfirst into the gene pool here and you'll crack your skull open
Mississippi, Alabama, Louisiana - That whole area is one big piece of crap. Georgia might be ok, but the rest is full of crime, pollution, and ugliness. - JustAnAccountV 3 Comments
Alaska is a beautiful state with the northern lights and very wealthy in natural resources but also has a very high crime and suicide rate. So not a great place to live but it's a definitely great state to visit. - countnightdark13
Lot's of personal space in the summer - not many people live there. But in the winter you'll be under several feet of snow... - JustAnAccount
What do you expect people? An amusement park? It's Alaska for pete's sake... - TopTenHaters
Alaska is a terrible state with rape and stuffV 5 Comments
Absolutely! Highest taxes in the nation, so much crime, unionism, disappearing jobs, Democrat mayors in Chicago, Democrats running the state, no wonder Illinois is such a craphole! More people in Chicago are being murdered than any other state! More people are leaving this state than any other state in the nation! Illinois sucks!
Chicago basically runs the entire state politically and financially. It'll always vote for the Democrat in presidential elections because Chicago's population outnumbers the rest of the state combined. Absurd taxes, the insatiable teachers' union of CPS that blames the inefficiency of their crappy schools on not having enough money, laughable corruption, ridiculous amounts of gang violence, etc. If current trends continue, Illinois will be economically ruined thanks to Chicago.
Nevada should be in the top 10, its pretty dangerous in las vegas - Heyo_Simba
Really gets old living here after a while. - olliv
Other than Vegas this place is dreadful. So dry and brown. No vegetation or anything pretty. But hey Vegas is great place to cum to
Florida as a travel destination (in the fall or winter)? Great! To live? OH HELL NO! Humidity and storms, worst education system, worst people (rednecks and old people), flat, lots of crime and poverty...who would want to live here?
I love it the wildlife isn't bad actually and its low tax great beaches and not crowded
Lot's of homeless people and weirdos. The sunshine state is actually stormy 364 days out of the year as well. - JustAnAccount
It’s awful. Super hot, lots of rude people, rains all the time, no snow, no fireflies, bad drivers, and it’s just a giant swamp.V 5 Comments
I live here, and I hate it. The amount of rednecks and poverty is high. Also, the humidity is unbearable. There is absolutely nothing to do AT ALL. No theme parks, no beaches, no mountains, no forests, nothing. Little Rock is full of murder and crime, and it's severely ghetto. Finally, Arkansas is EXTREMELY depressed.
Poverty, rednecks, crime, heat, earthquakes is enough for Arkansas to make it. - ReganTheBeast
A boring rural patch of nature, high poverty, populated by white trash.
Worst place to rent in the USA. Bad thunderstorms and cold, icy springs and winters.
Worst state - DogeFan132V 1 Comment
I Have been to all 50 states at least TWICE in my adult life and can say without reservation that Wisconsin is one of the best run, most organized, cleanest, and enjoyable parts of the country. Even the weather is not too bad 9/12 of the year (no hurricanes, small earth tremors, seldom drought, only humidity and the occasional blizzard). Wisconsin is on the cutting edge of education, economics, tourism, politics, cheese, and beer. No other state in the union has as much going for it!
Wisconsin is nice. it is just weather the weather is kinda bad
Wisconsin still has nice spots but Walker has definitely hurt the education system and work environment. Their SAT scores went from 2nd highest in the nation to 41st in one year! Losing jobs at an alarming rate.
Safe, civilized and moralistically sound. The nation’s negetive urban subcultures haven’t yet infiltrated the charm of one of America greatest states.V 3 Comments
It's like there isn't a single parking space in the entire state. NYC isn't the only problem. Upstate is ok, but really there isn't much to see but hills and woods - it's pretty quiet. NYC is awesome in some aspects, but horribly terrible in others. Long Island has overpopulation and some pollution and stuff, but they have nice beaches and other landmarks. But to be honest, Connecticut is the cleaner, less populated, more peaceful version of New York. - JustAnAccount
If you've seen the movie "Escape From New York", NYC is actually worse than that. As for "upstate", you can't really tell when its under 14 feet of snow.
I live in New York, and the way the sate tells the schools how to teach the students... Its terrible!
Way too much traffic. Plus it is very expensive to live in, almost no one can afford it. - TopTenHatersV 4 Comments
It's beautiful, my wife and I honeymooned there. Loved visiting there, not so sure I'd want to live there. So far away from everything! Also, it's very expensive and many places are tourist traps. That said, Hawaii's positives are pretty obvious. Plus, the people were super-friendly (we were on Maui)...
There are spots to avoid. Those places are Waianae, Wahiawa, and Makaha. There are some more to name, like Honolulu if you're super impatient. Then, there are awesome places like the northern side of Oahu, and other places in the competition. There is one massive problem, it's always expensive here. Trust me, I'm a local from Hawaii.
The bull education system! Crimes committed by school executives, high taxes on middle class, ass drivers, wanna-be teenagers, I can go on! Only upside is the breathtaking sunsets! I'd rather live in Kentucky than have to put up with Marylands bull!
Ugliest flag along with Colorado! - olliv

JUST LIKE Mexico. Corrupt government, police force, high crime rate and least kid friendly state is enough to put New Mexico on the list for sure. - ReganTheBeast
Everything is in Spanish. Corrupt government. Loads of crime and murder. No theme parks. It's also the least kid friendly state. I live here, and I WANT TO GET OUT. THERE IS NOTHING TO DO, AND I DON'T FEEL SAFE!
You know a state's going to be bad when it has "Mexico" in it's name. - olliv
This has to be number 1. Too many Indians and hispanics, not much whites which stinks, very poor, too many residential areas in Albuquerque, has a dumb governor, high crime rate (especially in Espanola and Gallup), most of the cities are Spanish, and there are not much places to do. New Mexico is actually a lot more like Mexico than the U.S. though, but despite that though, I lived here and I'm white and loved it. I just think its time to move up to Colorado though, but still NM is a BAD state. Well, at least it's better than Texas and Arizona. For those of you that would want to visit New Mexico, please switch to Colorado instead. - Jackthetoptenguy5
Where do I start? Rednecks, Poverty, heat, 2nd most dangerous state next to Louisiana and one of the worst governed state next to California. - ReganTheBeast
Calm down Tennesse does suck but it shouldn't be number 9 maybe number 44
I live in Massachusetts. This state is the best state I lived in! I don't want it on 19. I want it to be at like number 50.
It's only bad to live in Massachusetts during the winter, because its cold, snowy, and disgusting! Otherwise, Massachusetts is amazing - kaitlynrad11
Massachusetts should be the best state. Please held me God to let it disappear from this list forever! Imean it for real!
I live here in Boston
Kentucky is the best state in the south. How dare you! - olliv
Oklahoma is full of inconsiderate idiots. You can see it in how we treat each other, in how we drive, and in our politicians. Only in oklahoma does Mary Fallin get elected twice! We can't pass education reform, but we can fight all day about religious monuments on the capitol grounds. I've been able to travel all over the US and no place sucks as much as oklahoma. Don't believe me? Visit once and find out! It does t matter if you pick the smallest town to OKC or Tulsa, the rest of the US should build a wall around it and let the purge happen.
Oklahoma isn't expensive, it's very inexpensive to live HERE-as I'm a resident of Oklahoma. Whoever wrote that is an idiot and doesn't know what they are talking about. It may be full of some poor people, but so is every state! Also it's not boring, and as for being a redneck society, I'd rather be redneck than inbred like you seem to be.
Yes, Oklahoma has plenty of small-minded people, but for the most part folks are friendly and will help you if you need it. Main problems lie with the state's corrupt government, very poor infrastructure, and poverty.
Only Kansas is worse than Oklahoma. - ollivV 5 Comments
Indiana somehow there worse than Arkansas.
White trash Nascar fans - olliv
As a Hoosier, I am glad this isn't top 10. I like it here!
I happen to love Indiana, it’s home. But it’s snowing one second and sunny and 75 the next. I was going home and it was sunny, then it was snowing! Man the weather here is crazy, bit it’s still awesome!
Cobb county sucks but some parts in Cobb county are good stay out of south Cobb county
Georgia is over rated crime have got bad since a lot of people come from out of town
Every time you turn on news crime.
If u move here don't stay in the city of Down town Atlanta. School System sucks
Nobody says that Georgia is the worst state.NOBODY! >:(
I love it here!
Saddest state according to numerous sources
Most depressing state in the nation
This is my state, and yep. It is extremely depressing, there is nothing to do...it's just like a wasteland. I will leave as soon as I can.

Washington is a beautiful country. It has great landforms and good cities. What's strange is that most of days are cold and rainy but not a lot of snow in the winter.
Washington is one of the most beautiful states in the country. Seattle is a great city, there are mountains, deserts, lakes, the ocean, caves, forests, plus lots of things to do. The only problem is the hipsters! - olliv
Washington is filled with beautiful landscapes, trees, and national parks, and it's filled with every type of land form
If you like terrible people, dreary weather and corrupt government officials (amongst many other things), then Washington is the state for you! - SamanthaWV 1 Comment
Beautiful but when I went to Wichita the Arkansas River was dry
There are lots of tornadoes. Kansas also needs to get out of the 1950s
Its horrible, boring, there's nothing to do AND IT HAS ONE OF THE WORST GOVERNMENTS IN THE ENTIRE COUNTRY
Kansas needs to elect a new governor that is not Sam BrownbackV 1 Comment
Less people is less problems.
Just like Montana, just not as pretty and even more boring. - olliv
Isn't there a reason why there's less people, though?
Yes there is. It's boring, expensive, and and everyone from there is weird. - olliv
Very populated for such a small state
Very small size state to live
Whats rhode island? nobody knows about it
Utah is actually a great place to live and visit. Greatest snow on Earth for skiing/snowboarding. More National Parks than any other state besides California. Great place to raise a family. Low amount of natural disasters. Good economy. Good Universities. Gorgeous Mountains in the north and vast deserts in the south. Very diverse landscape.
Utah should be at number 50 because it's the best state. - Heyo_Simba
Oh come on! What can you call a state that is unwelcoming to outsiders (especially of other religious beliefs - be it atheist or Southern Baptist) and has very strict alcohol laws.
Too many mormons, too many police, too many criminals...V 1 Comment
Connecticut's own mayor Daniel Malloy has raised taxes when he promised not to, The states has closed down most of it's historical places just to generate money. Connecticut is one of the highest states with the worst crime. Even though it is wholesome and friendly it's just not a great place to raise children. The state itself is going broke, and It doesn't have religious value. It's the worst state t
Basically the better version of New York. But don't plan on living there too long - high taxes, crap real estate, and all that. - JustAnAccount
North Carolina is great...I've lived in the mountains my whole life and I love it, I've also gone out to the beach at Oak Island almost every summer, absolutely beautiful.
WHAT? I live in North Raleigh. Family-friendly, suburban, no crime, no rednecks, lots to do, and no crime. It's also beautiful here.
North Carolina rules good weather cities beaches mountains state university etc
This state is the best and we have nice drivers - not too bad rank 20 below is badV 1 Comment
It may have Charleston and Hilton Head, but don't let that fool you; this place is an economic wasteland
SC is actually pretty cool
South Carolina SUCKS. NC is so much better. SC has an overwhelming amount of poverty, rednecks, crime, humidity, high taxes, and boring-ness.
Laugh out loud NN and SC are next to each otherV 1 Comment
I forgot Montana existed for a while and I lived there for 20 years! It's a lame and boring state full of drunken trailer trash and rich, old retired people. Billings is a poverty hellhole full of crime and drug addicts. Probably one of the worst major cities in The United States. Horribly laid out, with absolutely nothing to do or see involving the city itself.
The rest of the state isn't so bad as long as your FILTHY RICH. People here are also terrible drivers and incredibly boring! All they ever talk about is Montana, because that's all they know about.
The reason Montana has so many people in bad living conditions is because real estate is outrageously overpriced. A trailer costs about a jaw dropping $300,000 in some areas. Not a middle class friendly state. You're either poor or rich here. - olliv
Everyone here is weird, has a full tattoo sleeve and smokes marijuana. The Broncos suck! Colorado's flag sucks! Colorado sucks! - olliv
Come on, you have to admit that we have it better here, than in places like New Jersey or Kansas. - RogerWatersfan1999

Love living here! Minneapolis is great, and if you know how to dress for the cold and drive in it, you can have a great time here! Beautiful scenic bluffs along the Mississippi River in the southeast part of the state, and unmatched beauty along the Lake Superior shore that inspired native son Bob Dylan's Highway 61 Revisited! There's always something to do here, Minneapolis trails only New York and Chicago in number of theaters! Have all four pro sports teams in beautiful stadiums! There are no hurricanes, not too many tornadoes, and haven't even been too many snowstorms. Plus our road maintenance crews are second to none, especially in the Twin Cities. Really shouldn't be on the list. A great place to live.
Yay we aren't below 25! Although it's cold and all but once you live or stay there for awhile, you know until you get used to it you will be fine.
