Top 10 Worst US States to Live InThis is the 10 worst US states to live in, if you ever consider moving to the US don't move to these states. Period, Trust me...
New Jersey has gangs and violence and terror and organized crime starting to kids and school and getting worse, so bad people can't believe it, search 'Cherry Hill Nazis' to see where the worst one in US lives. Judges and DCPP kidnap children for $10k per month and use history's worst medical terror on parents and the children, Bergen County recent example, lookup New Jersey Child Welfare Kidnapping and see how they are so bad people can't believe it until they talk to others in the neighborhoods or it happens to them, dcpp comes in the night illegally abducts children screaming as they are taken ripped away from parents arms by corrupt rotten and killer police - whose police chief shot his wife in the head in Englewood, Bergen County, claiming suicide and when they came to get him he killed him self - when they're not shooting kids in front of schools with their hands raised (Teaneck). Anyone who likes New Jersey has simply never had experience with the corruption, crime or terror ...more
JDL too, 40 hate groups most in Bergen County and many neo-Nazi and reverse hate groups, ISIS and al Qaeda arrests, FBI Targets Hackensack schools to stop ISIS infiltration and videos (search Web), regular bomb threats to schools and Bergen County Court House against worst judges in US (leave schools out of it! ) corruption with 40 arrested including 3 mayors, several assistant mayors, 5 Rabbis and selling body parts, Bergen County police almost kill State Police officer who came to help people from them on State Highway on you tube. To be caught in the middle of all that hate is not a good place to be and it starts young in NJ schools. All those office posts 'it's such a nice place with nice schools' getting old. Chrsitie disliked *even more* than the last NJ Governors even though they set set historic lows in the polls. 80% think Christie doesn't care about them because the other 20% KNOW Christie doesn't care about them.
This state is run by Democrats, almost a million of its residents live in poverty, most cramped state in terms of traffic (4th smallest state in the nation! ), and Camden looks like a ghost town! I don't live here, but I don't think I wanna live or even move here! Hell no way!
Corrupt government all taxes too high off the charts. There is even a exit tax when you leave. Run away government spending union controlled. don't move here!
The fact that the confederate battle flag is part of the state flag might just indicate what to expect from living in Mississippi.
Ok I love in Rhode Island and we drove through here on our way to New Orleans. So, as you know, Rhode Island (and most of the Northeast for that matter) have some old factories, but dang, this was really bad. We drove through Jackson and the only things we saw were smog, homeless people, and white people beating up black people. Come on! This is pathetic...
I heard it is the most racist state, some of these states might be bad, but America is the best thing ever in the history of the universe, no matter what any weird foreign people say. America has 30% taxes, which is pretty good, the government makes enough money, and we get enough money for food and a house. Also, France has 70% taxes, which is insane.
Why do we even have to question this? Not only does this state has a confederate flag on their state flag, but they voted overwhelmingly to keep it. Not to mention, just like every other southern state, Mississippi is full of racist, homophobic, transphobic, idiot rednecks.
I've only visited California once, but that was enough for me. It's truly the worst U.S. state! There's too many young families and gangsters around here. Everyone is the same. They all dress urban and the women all have blonde hair and a small child in a stroller. The valley girl accent is the worst accent ever! Californians are so arrogant. Everyone there is a stereotype. Too many creeps on the streets too. I was in a "nice" part of California too (on vacation in Anaheim) and I still hated it. I don't see how anyone can like this materialistic, overpriced, bad ass state. It used to be the best state in the country, but that was before the hippies took over. California, I HATE YOU!
Really? I need to clear something up. When people think of California, they assume the WHOLE GIGANTIC STATE is like Los Angeles. Their mind automatically goes to South LA, which is known for being trashy, dumpy, ghetto, full of traffic and illegal immigrants, polluted and full of famous people with plastic surgery.
That couldn't be further from the truth. That's like saying all of Michigan is like Detroit and Flint. When I think of California, I think of the snowcapped mountains, pristine beaches, Disneyland, towering redwood trees, sunsets, In N Out, and other things that make California an awesome state. I live in the city of Orange, CA (it's in North OC) and it is clean, family oriented, extremely safe, etc. I'm a 10 minute drive from Disneyland, and the schools in Orange are great. No traffic issues. I love living here.
How could anyone make a choice on the top ten list? You would have to have lived in all 50 states. From the states I've visited, I would say California is the worst mostly because of the superficial and fleeting people, failing democratic supermajority, hot weather, etc.
California is full of a bunch of weirdos and illegals, and all the celebrities live there too, for some reason. Sure, there's a lot of opportunity and business there, and it's a beautiful state in most places, but earthquakes are a larger problem then people think. Sooner than later, California will be obliterated by the looming super-earthquake that could happen at San Andreas fault.
First of all, I'm with my other Louisiana brother or sister who commented on the bad comments about my home! I've stayed here my entire life, and yes we have crime and a few roads are bad. But what city don't have bad roads, but I've been working all around this country and all the so called big cities with all the so called best this and best that have worse roads than we do... And our food to ran ranked BEST in the country! And like ANY CITY it depends on where u live to have high crime rates! I love BATON ROUGE and love NEW ORLEANS and my state period!
This place SUCKZ! I been there on a family vacation one time, and I was nearly killed by a gang member patrolling the streets and I had to be helped out of a swamp, a SWAMP. The only food they had there was a crocodile burnt to death. Therefore I’m rating this steaming dump of a place -100,658,932/10
High crime rate, High taxes, Too hot and hardly anything to do. 2nd least friendly state for children and is only getting worse.
It's the toilet of America, in my opinion. After all, it flushes out our largest river.
What desert wasteland? There is no such thing if you look past Phoenix. I've lived here for three years plus, and I love it. I've lived in New York, Maine, Nevada and California and each and every state have wonderful treasures to share with everyone. I have been in all the states of the lower 48 and love each state of our beautiful country. Have a wonderful day exploring our beautiful country. God Bless America.
Desert wasteland, TOO hot, Nothing to do, Sparsely populated and unfriendly racist people. Scored horribly on many list of US state living.
There's Phoenix, and the rest is boring, rural wasteland and desert, except for maybe the Grand Canyon and Hoover Dam or something.
So there is nothing to do? You can't hike mountains or go snowboarding in flagstaff you can't go to sports games? That's bull
Mississippi, Alabama, Louisiana - That whole area is one big piece of crap. Georgia might be ok, but the rest is full of crime, pollution, and ugliness.
This state is known for incests and all that. And even Sweet Home Alabama was even a thing now. Let's hope FBI will going to arrest the whole state.
Alabama is redneck, dirty, ugly, and you're lucky if you see people wearing shoes. There is nothing to do.
Worst state in America trash and the redneck stereotype there is not really a stereotype it's true
I have lived in 2 other states. I could not wait to come home to the greatest state in the union. It is a multicultural state. Sure it is hot during Summer and late Spring. Our late Fall and early Springs are beautiful! Best time to visit is March and April. The landscape in central Texas are covered in Bluebonnets. Texas also provides various landscapes. We have the Hill Country, the Gulf Coast, east Texas has an array of tall Pine Trees. Our cultures run from Mexican, German, Czech, and many more. Texas is a melting pot of people. Yes, Texas as well as any state has its problems. But I would not want to live any where else.
I'll tell you, from experience because I've lived here all my life that this is a place to pass up. There are a few nice things about this state but they are overloaded by the bad. It is way too hot, growing number of people can't speak a word of English, yet expect you to learn Spanish to accommodate them, can't buy alcohol at certain times, drivers are some of the worst, Dallas and other areas are quickly turning into ghetto trashbags, and this state refuses to change for the better. I can't wait to move
I cannot stand texas! I was born and raised here, had a few bad experiences and I definitely can't wait to leave here. It's just not for me, sorry people that live in Texas that have Texan pride.
Like California, it seems that most of the hate that Texas gets is based on politics, and hating a state for simply because it leans right or left in regards to politics isn't a good reason to hate it.
Criminal, corrupt, terror, 100 times worse than fascist Nazis, 100 times worse than Stalinist police state, 100 times worse than 1984, 100 times worse than Hunger Games whenever can get away with it - and that's just your boss! This isn't pre-civil war! New Jersey sends people to kill Floridians in both North and South Florida. Actually those killers are already in Florida including the 1/2 from New Jersey that are so bad can't stay there. New York's worst --goes to New Jersey's worst --goes to Florida. They don't like that in North Florida. Not just corrupt NJ Senator Menendez or the NJ Menendez brothers who moved to Beverly Hills. A few other snowbirds just want warmer weather and now Florida is just South New Jersey when North and Central New Jersey didn't have room for them and terrorized them out.
South Florida is really the only bad part of Florida. Most of the people here are extremely mean and rude (besides that there's lots of old people, teenagers here are the worst). In addition Miami is extremely ghetto, and the beaches here aren't really that nice. The culture is terrible too...
(tl;dr: nearly everything about south Florida is bad. However, central Florida and north Florida are okay in my opinion)
Florida as a travel destination (in the fall or winter)? Great! To live? OH HELL NO! Humidity and storms, worst education system, worst people (rednecks and old people), flat, lots of crime and poverty...who would want to live here?
Florida's like paradise, its got 20-foot snakes, 15-foot alligators, mosquitos the size of sparrows, flying coakroaches the size of pigeons, and the ocean is swarming with sharks. There are also the hurricanes.
Chicago basically runs the entire state politically and financially. It'll always vote for the Democrat in presidential elections because Chicago's population outnumbers the rest of the state combined. Absurd taxes, the insatiable teachers' union of CPS that blames the inefficiency of their crappy schools on not having enough money, laughable corruption, ridiculous amounts of gang violence, etc. If current trends continue, Illinois will be economically ruined thanks to Chicago.
Absolutely! Highest taxes in the nation, so much crime, unionism, disappearing jobs, Democrat mayors in Chicago, Democrats running the state, no wonder Illinois is such a craphole! More people in Chicago are being murdered than any other state! More people are leaving this state than any other state in the nation! Illinois sucks!
If Chicago seceded from Illinois (not going to happen) then the state would be the most boring in America.
Crime, taxes, debt, corruption, Democrats, Cub fans. Should I go on?
Nevada should be in the top 10, its pretty dangerous in las vegas
Really gets old living here after a while.
I've had the misfortune of living in this open-air dump called Ohio all my life. The job market sucks, as does the weather. The politicians are greedy and incompetent and the people are worthless, fat, ugly inbred trash of all colors. They should rename it Blowhio.
Boring as hell and the weather is so wacky here. Come here if you want to experience all seasons at once.
Most depressing state ever
if you like clouds, ugly scenery and vitamin d deficiency than this is the place for you!
The Paul Brothers.
Alaska is a beautiful state with the northern lights and very wealthy in natural resources but also has a very high crime and suicide rate. So not a great place to live but it's a definitely great state to visit.
Lot's of personal space in the summer - not many people live there. But in the winter you'll be under several feet of snow...
You also gave us Sarah Palin. Sorry that you live there, but your state deserves it just for that.
Sarah Palin. 'enough said.
I live here, and I hate it. The amount of rednecks and poverty is high. Also, the humidity is unbearable. There is absolutely nothing to do AT ALL. No theme parks, no beaches, no mountains, no forests, nothing. Little Rock is full of murder and crime, and it's severely ghetto. Finally, Arkansas is EXTREMELY depressed.
A boring rural patch of nature, high poverty, populated by white trash.
Worst place to rent in the USA. Bad thunderstorms and cold, icy springs and winters.
Poverty, rednecks, crime, heat, earthquakes is enough for Arkansas to make it.
Upstate is beautiful for a lot of activities throughout the year, from skiing to boating, hunting to fishing, and many historical sites and camping too. And sure, we might have some snowy days here; but there's also days during the midst of winter where we may be warmer than parts of FL.
Sadly, a government who dictates against the opinion and best interests of the public and financially oppresses the working people and businesses of the state seems to ruin all the advantages we have. Nothing in this state escapes from a tax, fee, surcharge, or some other name devised to extort money from your pocket.
It's like there isn't a single parking space in the entire state. NYC isn't the only problem. Upstate is ok, but really there isn't much to see but hills and woods - it's pretty quiet. NYC is awesome in some aspects, but horribly terrible in others. Long Island has overpopulation and some pollution and stuff, but they have nice beaches and other landmarks. But to be honest, Connecticut is the cleaner, less populated, more peaceful version of New York.
When people think of New York, they often think of NYC. However at least when it comes to Upstate New York, that could not be further from the truth. They upstate NY area is very beautiful, with many forests, mountains, lakes, rivers, and waterfalls. Also the
people in upstate are very friendly.
Don't get me wrong I'm not a fan of NYC either, but at least take the whole state in account before you judge it.
If you've seen the movie "Escape From New York", NYC is actually worse than that. As for "upstate", you can't really tell when its under 14 feet of snow.
I Have been to all 50 states at least TWICE in my adult life and can say without reservation that Wisconsin is one of the best run, most organized, cleanest, and enjoyable parts of the country. Even the weather is not too bad 9/12 of the year (no hurricanes, small earth tremors, seldom drought, only humidity and the occasional blizzard). Wisconsin is on the cutting edge of education, economics, tourism, politics, cheese, and beer. No other state in the union has as much going for it!
Wisconsin still has nice spots but Walker has definitely hurt the education system and work environment. Their SAT scores went from 2nd highest in the nation to 41st in one year! Losing jobs at an alarming rate.
Literally referred to as "The Frozen Tundra".
Wisconsin is nice. it is just weather the weather is kinda bad
The bull education system! Crimes committed by school executives, high taxes on middle class, ass drivers, wanna-be teenagers, I can go on! Only upside is the breathtaking sunsets! I'd rather live in Kentucky than have to put up with Marylands bull!
I live in Maryland I have to agree. Crimes are committed. Why do you think we have a lot more shootings (Not only school shootings) in MD?
What the heck?! Maryland is one of the best states in the US! Plus, it's flag is beautiful and unique.
Ugliest flag along with Colorado!
Oklahoma is full of inconsiderate idiots. You can see it in how we treat each other, in how we drive, and in our politicians. Only in oklahoma does Mary Fallin get elected twice! We can't pass education reform, but we can fight all day about religious monuments on the capitol grounds. I've been able to travel all over the US and no place sucks as much as oklahoma. Don't believe me? Visit once and find out! It does t matter if you pick the smallest town to OKC or Tulsa, the rest of the US should build a wall around it and let the purge happen.
Oklahoma is actually one of the most inexspensive states to live in. We have the lowest gas prices, Voice mail was created here, has the worlds largest totem pole, right now the Witchita mountains wildlife refuge is number one in the country, tallest hill (mount cavanal), first parking meter, only state that produces iodine, also has 'center of the universe' look it up, Edwar Roberts, who was born and lived in Oklahoma, created the personal computer, and gave Bill Gates his forst job in the industry, and the ameteur softball association of america was founded in Oklahoma and is the strongest softball organization in the U.S.A
Oklahoma isn't expensive, it's very inexpensive to live HERE-as I'm a resident of Oklahoma. Whoever wrote that is an idiot and doesn't know what they are talking about. It may be full of some poor people, but so is every state! Also it's not boring, and as for being a redneck society, I'd rather be redneck than inbred like you seem to be.
Yes, Oklahoma has plenty of small-minded people, but for the most part folks are friendly and will help you if you need it. Main problems lie with the state's corrupt government, very poor infrastructure, and poverty.
This has to be number 1. Too many Indians and hispanics, not much whites which stinks, very poor, too many residential areas in Albuquerque, has a dumb governor, high crime rate (especially in Espanola and Gallup), most of the cities are Spanish, and there are not much places to do. New Mexico is actually a lot more like Mexico than the U.S. though, but despite that though, I lived here and I'm white and loved it. I just think its time to move up to Colorado though, but still NM is a BAD state. Well, at least it's better than Texas and Arizona. For those of you that would want to visit New Mexico, please switch to Colorado instead.
JUST LIKE Mexico. Corrupt government, police force, high crime rate and least kid friendly state is enough to put New Mexico on the list for sure.
I would move here if there was less crime and no nuclear weapons.
New Mexico is very very dangerous I DO NOT RECOMMEND LIVING HERE!
It's beautiful, my wife and I honeymooned there. Loved visiting there, not so sure I'd want to live there. So far away from everything! Also, it's very expensive and many places are tourist traps. That said, Hawaii's positives are pretty obvious. Plus, the people were super-friendly (we were on Maui)...
There are spots to avoid. Those places are Waianae, Wahiawa, and Makaha. There are some more to name, like Honolulu if you're super impatient. Then, there are awesome places like the northern side of Oahu, and other places in the competition. There is one massive problem, it's always expensive here. Trust me, I'm a local from Hawaii.
Worse than Iran or Mexico.
I've been to a gas station in downtown Memphis that sold hitching posts made to look like a guy in blackface holding a ring. Even without talking to anyone the racism can't be ignored.
Where do I start? Rednecks, Poverty, heat, 2nd most dangerous state next to Louisiana and one of the worst governed state next to California.
Calm down Tennesse does suck but it shouldn't be number 9 maybe number 44
Reasons to like Massachusetts.
1) awesome history. Massachusetts was where the American revolution started and much of our historical heritage. The battle of bunker hill and the battle of concord bridge were fought here and many of the founding fathers were born and razed here.
2) there is no racism here. Most people in Massachusetts are of Italian or Irish descent, but there are large black, Asian and Hispanic minorities here. We all treat ourselves with respect regardless of race, religion or ethnicity and there has never been any major discrimination (which is more than some Alabamans and Mississippians can say).
3) we are the second most tolerant state in the country when it comes to gay, lesbian and bisexual rights (California being number one)
4) best hospitals and medical facilities not only In the country but in the WORLD. We have Boston children's hospital, bargemen women's, Boston general hospital and almost ten other ones known around the world ...more
Good place has nice history, by the way I come from Boston it's the capital here good place to live it just has bad temperature in the winter.
It's only bad to live in Massachusetts during the winter, because its cold, snowy, and disgusting! Otherwise, Massachusetts is amazing
I live in Massachusetts. This state is the best state I lived in! I don't want it on 19. I want it to be at like number 50.
Meth and rednecks
Boring, flat, stupid, horrible weather. I'm from this state and wish I could move to a place like Missouri. It's so much better than this piece of trash state.
Most boring landscape, nothing but prairies and flat land, worst weather ever, nothing to do and everything is tiring.
There are lots of tornadoes. Kansas also needs to get out of the 1950s
Beautiful but when I went to Wichita the Arkansas River was dry
This is my state, and yep. It is extremely depressing, there is nothing to do...it's just like a wasteland. I will leave as soon as I can.
How is this not in the top ten? It's literally collapsing!
Saddest state according to numerous sources
Most depressing state in the nation
The humidity is insufferable...
St Louis and KC that's literally it outside of Branson.People here are just rude
The people writing this probably don't even live in Missouri because you all are complaining about the humidity then don't live next to the Missouri River if you're going to complain
New Madrid Earthquakes
