Top Ten Worst Video Game Genres

This doesn't deserve first place, at all. This genre is easy to get into, and is one of the few where you actually need to think. It's even better if you use a text parser, because you really feel like you're actually part of the game

It is the least fun out of all other genres out there whenever it's a best game, worst game, average game whatever they all share exact same problem: slow, clunky, repetitive and lame

Like most of the genres on this list, it really depends what game you are talking about. Some Point and Click adventures are great, but some are incredibly dull.

What's the point in sports video games when you can just go to your local fields and play with your friends and get exercise?

It's like watching sport, but somehow even more boring and pointless.

It's the same thing: shoot a ton of zombies, wait for the next round, then shoot some more.

There's way too many of them, they dominate the market over much better games and they have awful communities. These embody everything wrong with the industry!

I will be honest here, FPS games are my least favorite video game genre.
Why? Because it gets boring REALLY fast. All you do is shoot people. That's it.

You need internet connection and if you don't continue you will lose progress. Also you can never complete it.

I am probably in the minority but I couldn't get into most games of this genre. They require a lot of decision making which stresses me out plus, a lot of RPGs are too long to pay attention to the story. I like a select few games of this genre like Solatorobo and the South Park RPGs but in general, they're not my cup of tea.

I don't get it why this is so popular, I hate all Clicker games except Time Clickers.

Clicker games get staler when you play them longer, and they are mind-numbing.

Who would put this here? Mario games are great. This genre even saved gaming.

These are dull. Gone Home is an amazing example, as not only is it boring, it has an SJW agenda.

For those unaware, this is a term used to describe games that have no gameplay, just cutscenes over and over again. "Oh, so like Telltale? " No, Telltale actually knows how to animate cutscenes. The ones in these games are just characters making different poses, like a slideshow. It doesn't help that the characters are hideously drawn. While I really hate RPGs (for being boring) and battle royale games (I don't like this sudden trend towards multiplayer-only), at least they have gameplay. These games have absolutely nothing and the only reason they aren't dominating the "worst games" list is because they're too damn obscure for people to care about.

Is it just me or are those games actually that boring or plain awful? The only thing good about some visual novels I heard of is that their anime adaptations are good.

For all you hating on visual novels, you need to keep in mind the word "novel" is there for a reason. You are supposed to think of them less as games and more as books.

I could never get into games of this genre they usually come with toxic playerbases.

The most boring games ever. They are the exact same thing; pushing buttons with packs of music. If you aren't fast enough it gets boring really quick.

The evilest genre. /e They trick you into spending heavy amounts of cash on virtual currency just for jpegs of an anime girls. Talk about a bigger waste of money.

Drop out of sky only to be killed by players who somehow have weapons 1 millisecond after landing or spend 20 minutes hiding and then win. Your choice!

All battle royales have objectively clunky combat compared to fps games. Easiest way to win is to hide and most of the game is spent looting.

A bunch of random classic games on a disc. The controls could be infuriating. Games like these should be put in a pet care app on the Playstore.

I dislike this genre
