Top Ten Worst Warrior Cat Mates And/or Parents
Well... a list of worst mates and/or parents in the Warriors series. The reason why there's the and/or thing is because mates sometimes have kits. Oh, and one more thing: Millie will not be on this list.
Bad mate, /horrid/ parent. She disowned her adopted kit, and was even seen nipping, hissing, growling, and depriving him of milk to remind him of how she didn't want him. She sighed with relief when all her kits became apprentices, and unwillingly agreed to nurse Brokenkit. Lizardstripe is the reason why Brokenstar is in the Dark Forest, and now faded. She cared more about ambition. The only good side to her is that she wanted to help her Clan, but then again, ambition... But my question is... /why/ did she go to StarClan?
Tom was made to be a horrible parent. Harassing his mate, kidnapping his kids and then being happy over his mate's death. I'm shocked the erins didn't kill him off. He should be.
Really hate this guy. He STOLE his kits and forced them into his own home and not where they were truly happy. He got Turtle Tail killed. He is truly horrible

I actually sort of feel bad for Mapleshade. Appledusk ended up blaming her for their kits' deaths, and then goes and mates with another cat. He's just like, "Hey Mapleshade, I will love you and only you," and then the next is like, "Did I mention I got a new mate? Her name is Reedshine and she's expecting my kits."
I actually liked reading about Appledusk. And he is one of my favorite characters.
Appledusk is the worst. Mapleshade is crazy because of him!

Okay, I won't get into detail about the parenting stuff, but for mate... She was a horrible mate. How was Silverstream the better mate? In fact, how was she a /good/ mate? She was completely selfish in the relationship, and thought that Crookedstar could defend her because she was his daughter. If you ask me, she's also a mary-sue. I have to give her a bit of credit, because she didn't want to /intentionally/ fall in love. But honestly, she was a very static character and bad mate, and even caused Graystripe to be a complete jerk to Fireheart. Millie is better. Period.
The WORST father! He rejected Thunder when he knew that Thunder was his kit, all because he was "mourning" Storm's death! If you wanted to honor her, why don't you take in her kit?! He got mad at STORM like it was HER fault that the building collapsed on her! And THEN, after he realized that Thunder was a good cat, he tried to take Thunder from the spot where he had been raised since a kit and had friends to his place of blood and suffering where he tries to destroy everyone and murders a mother with kits for being on his territory! What a jerk! I don't get why StarClan gave him nine lives if he just cared about boundaries. And then he kicked his own BROTHER out of the his camp because his leg was broken, and he treated Storm like she was a piece of crud! And then during the battle, he killed Rainswept Flower and didn't even CARE. And then his brother from earlier, Jagged Peak, had to grow up in another camp with his OTHER CARING brother! And then Clear Sky acted like he did nothing and basically said "Well, I only rejected you because you were weak, no hard feelings" and then IGNORED him. And then he fell in love with the lying weasel that Thunder was in love with, which is GROSS, and that pretty much sums up Clear Sky. - Dovepaw
Oh, please. There are far worse parents than Stormtail on this list. 1. He chose Dappletail AFTER Moonflower died, like the whole Graystripe and Millie thing. 2. I'm sorry, but their kits were snobby brats. 3. His mate is so sweet and kind and caring that it makes me sick, and I'm sure it was the same case for him. 4. Their relationship was definitely more of a Spiderleg and Daisy relationship in Bluestar's Prophecy, but in Goosefeather's Curse it is obvious that Stormtail was crushing on Moonpaw BIGTIME and vice versa, so it makes their relationship a little bit confusing. Overall, Stormtail was actually a rather okay parent when compared to others, but I don't blame him for ridding of Moonflower. Unsure about parenting, but not a good mate. He just didn't seem to care much about Mooflower, and the whole "kit" thing just... happened. However, I can see how he was trying to console Bluepaw/fur when Moonflower died.
I can't believe he chose dapple tail over moonflower! After all you guys have been through storm tail just leaves her...
Stormtail should be at least in the top five he is an a full father and worse mate to Moonflower! Guess what? Moonflower wouldn't be DEAD if he helped her instead of Dappeltail but all he was like was oh Dappeltail your fending off a weak cat but u need some help oh Moonflower you'll be FINE. Like what
Bad mate to Sandgorse, and for parenting, unsure. A good side to her parenting was that she was glad Tallstar didn't become a tunneler, mostly because she couldn't bear to lose another cat she loved. Besides, she had postnatal depression, so it's more understandable. However, she took on a mate almost immediately (immediately in this case does not mean "No! Sandgorse suddenly drowned in the tunnels! Hi Woolytail! You are now my mate," but in moons time. It was about two moons after Sandgorse's death when Palebird got a new mate. At some times, it seemed as if Palebird didn't care too much about Talltail. As put by one user: She mopes around all day while her kit gets bullied. She sits around whining about her dead kit whom never really was born. Then, when her mate dies, she goes right around and has kits with his tunnel-mate, not even caring about Tallpaw's warrior ceremony.
She's annoying in my opinion. She just mopes around all day about her dead kit that wasn't exactly born while Talltail suffers and when Sandgorse died she just moved right on way too fast. And when she had her second litter of kits, the litter with Woolytail, she blamed every bit of the kits' bad behavior on Talltail, which is just cruel. She paid no real attention to him and was not that good of a mother, in my opinion.
I mean, wow. About two moons after her first mate Sandgorse died, she has a new mate. Then after she has kits, she barely pays attention to Talltail. Who does that?
Oblivious to Tallpaw's suffering, and was arguably one of the most selfish mothers in the Warriors series.
Leafpool is a character in the Warrior Cats series. She's the daughter of Firestar and Sandstorm, sister of Squirrelflight, mate of Crowfeather, and mother of Jayfeather, Lionblaze, and Hollyleaf She gave up her kits because she wanted to keep the warrior code intact. Hollyleaf's the idiot who didn't realize Leafpool cared for her.
Yeah, Why would she have kits? Yet, she obviously is forbidden.
She isn't a good-parent' Eh, she's mostly like palebird...
Hey, why isn't anyone thinkin about the storyline?! Leafpool was supposed to have mates, so the three were born.
Horrible parent to Tallpaw, didn't even acknowledge his own son as his son, " A dumb flood scared one of the apprentices." Page 188 of Tallstar's Revenge. This is when he's talking to Sparrow. He wanted Tallpaw to follow in his footsteps and when Heatherstar decided that his mentor would be Dawnstripe he first argued with his leader even do she was right in every way and then snapped at Tallpaw. At least Palebird acknowledged Tallpaw as her son and did what was good for his happiness and heath and didn't allow him to become a tunneler.
Mate is... meh, terrible parent until he went to StarClan. He completely disowned Tallstar the moment he said he wanted to be a moor runner. He even accused his own son of being a coward and was just so horrid. He was too proud of the tunnels and wanted Tallstar to follow in his pawsteps.
Forces his son to follow in his footsteps, then blames him for shutting down the tunnels when WOOLYTAIL spilled everything, then rejects him, blames him for Brackenwing's death, and Tallpaw/tail still loves him. One faithful son he had.
This cat is such an awful parent! He abandoned his kits and family because he wanted to give up on Clan life to become a kittypet! Which is against the warrior code! And then Tigerstar grew up with only a mother, who was probably stressed and the other queens were mean to him all because Pinestar left the Clans and DESTROYED his kit's life! His mate gave birth to kits and he's like "Oh, but I want to go live like a kittypet because I don't want to starve" and he was EATING kittypet food! And then he decided to run away and after that Sunstar only had 8 lives! - Dovepaw
Maybe you should start learning math. Last time I checked, Crowfeather had three mates, and only four kits. Compared to...oh, I dunno, Dustpelt, Brackenfur, that's hardly anything, honestly. And he didn't just TAKE a mate. This is his process:
1. He loved Feathertail. Feathertail died. He was heartbroken.
2. He nearly watched Leafpaw fall to her demise. Instead, he imagined Feathertail, saved her, and fell in love.
3. To prove his loyalty to WindClan, he forced himself to take Nightcloud as a mate.
Not to mention he gets more hate than his phsycopathic son. ~Rocky
He practically ignores his kits, making him a bad father, and doesn't pay any attention to Daisy after the kits are born, making him a TERRIBLE mate.
He ignored them like dirt he probably cares about dirt more then his kits
He wasn't loyal to Honeyfern and when a snake killed her she started dying in agony and Berrynose wasn't even sad. After that he walked up to Poppyfrost (her SISTER, gross, buddy) and then was like "Hey you want kits?" and Poppyfrost AGREED. And then Berrynose bragged about his kits being the smartest things since sliced bread and was a brat, so there. - Dovepaw.
As a mate is think she is fine, her and Dustpelt are adorable, and as a mother I don't really remember but she was very loving mother! (at least to her kits during her current pregnancy, apparently she ignores her previous litters, can't remember) I think she's got seven kits... so she must be doing something right, if at least 3/7 survived.
Great mother, unless you're now an adult.
I unfortunately had to put Gray Wing on this list as a bad mate, though a good (foster) parent. Honestly, with him taking on a new mate and having kits, it makes me feel like that his new mate is just a replacement for Turtle Tail. Seriously, Gray Wing, what happened?
Why is Gray Wing on here! Turtle Tail allowed him to have Slate as a mate in the fifth book!

Oakheart is a dark,reddish-brown tom with amber eyes. ...read more. I think he was a decent parent, he still cared for his kits as any father really would have when he brought them to RiverClan. He spent quite a bit of time with them. Mistyfoot and Stonefur liked him. He wasn't a bad father, at least in my opinion

Bluestar is a character in the Warrior Cats series. She was one of the leaders of ThunderClan. She is mother to Yellowfang and she accused her daughter of killing her second litter. However, she is a good and caring mother. She blamed Yellowfang, her own kit for the death of Marigoldkit and Mintkit. She even went to the Dark Forest because of the hatred that built up inside of her after their deaths.
Squirrelflight is a dark ginger she-cat with forest-green eyes. She has one white paw, short legs, a torn ear tip, glossy fur, and a long, squirrel-like, bushy tail. She lied to Brambleclaw about Lionblaze, Hollyleaf, and Jayfeather being their kits, ended her friendship with Brambleclaw at the end of "Starlight" just because he was wanting to get to know his half-brother, Hawkfrost, since she believed that Hawkfrost couldn't be trusted without anything to back it other than the fact he was Tigerstar son. She shouldn't even be deputy nor should she had been forgiven.
She is such a awful mate and mother! She practically DISOWNED Crookedstar after he broke his jaw, calling him an "ugly mess". What kind of mother does that? A REAL mother loves their children despite their looks. And renaming Crookedstar from Stormkit to Crookedkit was just absolutely cruel. I don't blame Shellheart for dumping her. She was a horrible character and (in my opinion at least) deserved the death she got. Serves her right.
I kind of disagree. She made up with Crookedstar in StarClan, and she also had a hard time admitting when she was wrong. Plus, unfortunately, mother cats will abandon their kitten when he may die. Plus, Crookedstar did the same thing with Silverstream for a while after Willowbreeze died because he thought that she would die, too.
I think that Lizardstripe is worse, though. She didn't even want kits!
Rainflower was a great mother to Oakheart but treated Crookedstar as a traitor just because he wanted to play and accidentally broke his jaw. What mother does that? Just simply disown their own child, take a step further and CHANGE their name to something unbelieve?
She was horrendous! She treated her child in an abusive since and ignored him after the accident. Did not care about him after that. The child then forgives the parent when the parent didn't deserve it? Should have gone to dark forest.
Terrible mate, terrible father. Seriously, he and Leafpool only mated out of lust. Not love. Once the two broke up, Crowfeather was rude to Leafpool, yet not to his half-Clan kits. He ignored Breezepelt and /used/ Nightcloud to prove his loyalty to WindClan. Poor Nightcloud... She deserves better.
Crowfeather didn't love Nightcloud or Breezepelt at all! He used Nightcloud! And made Breezepelt evil because Nightcloud wouldn't have spoiled him if he was in his life. And Crowfeather is just ANNOOYING!
I don't know why I'm adding this here, but Crowfeather is she-cat crazy. He likes Feathertail, than Leafpool, than Nightcloud. See what I mean?
All he cares about are his half-Clan kits. He treats Nightcloud horribly and completely /neglects/ Breezepelt.
They are the reason why Spider leg is such a bad father! Half of Thunderclan is their ofiguring so they neglect Spiderleg
