1 Mr. Perfect Curtis Michael Hennig (March 28, 1958 – February 10, 2003) was an American professional wrestler. He performed under his real name for promotions including the American Wrestling Association (AWA), the World Wrestling Federation (WWF; now WWE), World Championship Wrestling (WCW), and NWA Total Nonstop Action, also using the ring name Mr. Perfect in the WWF/E. Hennig was the son of wrestler Larry "The Axe" Hennig and the father of wrestler Curtis Axel.

Originally was suppose to win the 1990 Royal Rumble until Hogan used his backstage power to change all that.

2 Kurt Angle Kurt Steven Angle is an American professional wrestler, actor and former amateur wrestler currently signed to professional wrestling promotion WWE, where he was the on-screen general manager of the Raw brand and an occasional wrestler.

The closes he came to winning the Rumble was back in 2002 after making to the final two before being eliminated by Triple H

3 Andre the Giant André René Roussimoff, known as André the Giant, was a French professional wrestler and actor. André He most famously feuded with Hulk Hogan, culminating at WrestleMania III, and his best-remembered film role was that of Fezzik, the giant in The Princess Bride. He was a giant in every way possible, his exposure to entertainment was great, and yes he was a very short lived WWE champion in 1988, but he never won the Rumble. In 1989, after he threw Jake "The Snake" Roberts over the top rope, Jake came back (or in Jesse "the Body" Ventura terms illiegally) to the ring and threw Damian in the ring causing Andre to eliminate himself from the Rumble. In 1990 he was out of the Rumble thanks to Ax and Smash from Demolition (double teaming IS allowed in the Rumble).

4 Ted DiBiase Theodore Marvin "Ted" DiBiase Sr. is an American former professional wrestler, manager, ordained minister and color commentator.

Made it to the final two in the 1989 Rumble was eliminated by Big John Studd.

5 Macho Man Randy Savage Randy Mario Poffo, better known by his ring name "Macho Man" Randy Savage, was an American professional wrestler and color commentator best known for his time in the World Wrestling Federation and later the World Championship Wrestling.

The closest he came to winning was in 1993 got eliminated by Yokozuna after he awkwardly launched him self over the ropes.

7 Booker T Booker Huffman Jr., better known by his ring name Booker T, is an American professional wrestler, promoter, and color commentator who is currently signed with WWE as part of the pre-show team on Raw.
8 Rick Rude Richard Erwin "Rick" Rood, better known by his ring name "Ravishing Rick" Rude, was an American professional wrestler who performed for many promotions, including World Championship Wrestling, World Wrestling Federation, and Extreme Championship Wrestling.
9 Ultimate Warrior Warrior was an American professional wrestler, who most famously wrestled under the ring name The Ultimate Warrior for the World Wrestling Federation from 1987 to 1991 and again in 1992 and 1996. During his 1998 stint in World Championship Wrestling, he was known as The Warrior.

Although he never won the Royal Rumble, he'll be best remembered for the 1990 edition. Here's what happened. He was drawn number 21 and ellimnate 3 wrestlers. Hulk Hogan who was to win was drawn number 24, and then when the 2 collided it was a moment frozen in time. The Warrior rules forever.

11 Eddie Guerrero Eduardo Gory "Eddie" Guerrero Llanes, was a Mexican-American professional wrestler and a member of the Guerrero wrestling family.
12 Tito Santana Merced Solis is a Mexican-American semi-retired professional wrestler, better known by his ring name, Tito Santana.

Although Tito appeared in a few Royal Rumbles, 1992 was the year that he and 29 others we're challenging for the vacant World Wrestling Federation Heavyweight Championship. In that Rumble, he drew number 7, eliminate one wrestler and lasted 13 minutes and 55 seconds before being eliminated by Shawn Michaels. The same Shawn Michaels who would later faced Tito in the opening match of WrestleMania VIII won by yes Shawn Michaels.

13 Koko B. Ware James Ware, better known by his ring name Koko B. Ware is a retired American professional wrestler who made his professional wrestling debut in 1978. He rose in popularity during the mid 1980s, while appearing in the World Wrestling Federation, where he was initially a strong mid-carder before he eventually became a jobber to the stars.

A superstar with the talent to sing as well as he can wrestle. But he never won a title or for that matter the Royal Rumble, In 1990 he was drawn number 2 and was no match as Ted Dibiase eliminate him in just 96 seconds. But he's forever remembered for his flying drop kicks from the top rope and his ending ghost buster move that was a regular thing on Super Stars and Wrestling Challenge. Truly, one of wrestling's highest flyers.

14 Bob Backlund Robert Louis Backlund is an American retired professional wrestler with an in-ring career spanning over 30 years, best known for his tenures in the World Wide Wrestling Federation/World Wrestling Federation, where he is a two-time WWWF/WWF Heavyweight Champion/WWF World Heavyweight Champion, as well as being inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2013.

In November, 1992 Mr. Bob Backlund decided to return to the WWE for one reason to once again become the Heavyweight Champion of the World, that would come 2 years later. But we're here to talk about the Rumble. 2 Months after his return, he drew number 2 and in a great underrated moment, he stayed in the Rumble match for one hour, one minute and ten seconds, but in the end he was eliminated by the soon to be Champion Yokozuna. Truly an amazing moment by Backlund.

This was the closest any wrestler to come to winning the Rumble but didn't. The 1995 was the perfect case for this 2020 WWE Hall of Famer, where he thought he eliminate Shawn Michaels to win the Rumble only to hear another WWE Hall of Famer Howard Finkel said "Ladies and gentlemen, the referee has informed me that ONLY ONE of Shawn Michaels feet hit the floor." Later Michaels eliminate The British Bulldog to win the 1995 WWE Royal Rumble.

16 Mick Foley Michael Francis "Mick" Foley Sr. is an American retired professional wrestler, writer, color commentator, actor and voice actor.

Mick Foley, a hardcore legend made W W E history by appearing at a Royal Rumble match three times, it happened in 1998. How's it possible? True that in Royal Rumble rules, once you're eliminate you can't go back in, but officials think that they're 3 Mick Foleys, not one. First he appeared as Cactus Jack who dueled with Terry Funk in an hardcore Royal Rumble. Then Jack got eliminated, enter Mankind. But that was short lived when he got eliminated, then enter Dude Love and he was one of the final four left before he too got eliminated. Three Strikes and he's well that's Mick Foley.
