Most Overrated Metal Bands

Note: I actually like some of these bands. And I didn't include Linkin Park because they aren't a metal band anymore and I'm my opinion don't even deserve to be in a list that has the word "metal" in it.

  1. Metallica

    This band sold out big time. I loved their first four albums, but they went downhill in the 90's. Their Their 90's albums were ok but still nothing compared to their thrash metal masterpieces of the 80's. Death Magnetic and St. Anger aren't too bad either but still nothing compared to the 80's albums.

  2. DragonForce

    This band is extremely overrated mainly because of their "fast" guitarist Herman Li. They can't even play some of their faster songs like Through The Fire And Flames or Fury of The Storm live. It kind of shows that the studio versions are way too edited. They're overall a very overrated band.

  3. Black Veil Brides

    This band is insanely overrated especially among the scene kids. Their appearance annoys me simply because of the fact that they're trying to look like a modern Motley Crüe. They look more like little girls.

  4. Avenged Sevenfold

    Although they're my personal favorite band, they are a bit overrated. They became more commercial after City of Evil got released, but I still enjoy all of their songs and them being overrated doesn't change my opinion that they're the greatest band in the world.

  5. Slipknot

    When someone first thinks of heavy metal, Slipknot are likely to come to mind. They've become overrated mainly because of they're appearance. They also turned a bit more commercial with The Subliminal Verses. But they are still a very good metal band.

  6. Megadeth

    Just like Metallica, Megadeth sold out in the 90's. Just like Metallica, it's their first 4 albums that are considered their best. Just like Metallica, their 90's albums sound way more commercial. It would have been nice for either band to just stick with the thrash metal style.

  7. Iron Maiden

    These guys are a legendary band and one of the biggest heavy metal bands of all time, but face it, they are very overrated. And overtime their sound changed too.

  8. Judas Priest

    Also anther big name in heavy metal, but also very overrated.

  9. Pantera

    I don't like how they're number 1 on the Most Underrated Metal Bands List. Come on, really? They are not underrated. They're a very big name in groove metal and inspired a lot of modern metal bands. Many people who listen o older metal have heard of Pantera. So they aren't too underrated or overrated either.
