Katheryn Elizabeth Hudson, professionally known by her stage name Katy Perry, was born on October 25, 1984 in Santa Barbara, California. She is a singer, songwriter, actress and an ambassador on one of the most popular companies of now, UNICEF.

She is also is one of the best-selling artists of all time. She won 4 Guinness World Records, 5 MTV Awards, 5 American Music Awards, 16'ASCAP Pop Music Awards, 5 Billboard Music Awards, 14 People's Choice, 1 Juno Award, 2 Myx Music Awards, 3 NRJ Awards, 6 Teen Choice and a Brit Award.

Katy, herself was once a Christian-genre singer and was only known at Santa Barbara. She signed at Columbia Records but been dropped but got hired at Capitol Records.

In 2008, she released her first single I Kissed A Girl which got mixed reviews but became a successful hit. In the same year, she also released her second single Hot n Cold which got nominated for Best Female Video of the Year but lost to Taylor Swift's You Belong With Me.

In 2010, she released 3 singles (California Girls, Teenage Dreams and Firework) that got nominated in the Grammy but lost to other singers. Also, at the same year, she was one of the judges in American Idol.

In 2011, a remixed version of E.T. became the 4th single off Teenage Dream, topped the Billboard Hot 100 for 5 weeks. Teenage Dream became the ninth album to produce 4 number ones. Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F) became a single and topped Number 1. She became the first female singer to achieve 5 number one singles at the same album and second after Michael Jackson's Bad. She married Russell Brand but got divorced after 14 months of marriage.

In 2012, she ventured into business and made her first perfume, Purr and her second perfume, Meow. She was also named the Woman of the Year by Billboard.

In 2013, she released Roar as the lead single from the album Prism on August 10. She also released Unconditionally as the second single on October 16, and then released the album Prism after two days and got positive reviews. She also released her 3rd fragrance, Killer Queen.

In 2014, Dark Horse was released as the 3rd single and the ninth number-one single from Katy Perry. Her music video made her the first female artist to have 1 billion views but also found offensive to Muslims and Egyptians and been banned in most parts in Africa. Birthday and This is How We Do followed as the fourth and fifth single in the album and at the same year, she released her 4th fragrance, Royal Revolution

In 2015, she headlined the Super Bowl Halftime Show which was the most-watched performance of all time. In the same year, she was one of the cameos in Bitch I'm Madonna and in the same month, she released Mad Potion

In 2016, she appeared as herself in Zoolander 2. Also, in the same year, she released the song "Rise" which was supposedly became the anthem for the 2016 Olympics which was featured in Brazil.

In 2017, she decided to switch her hair color from the long black hair to the current short blonde hair.
