The Top Ten
1 Dance the Night - Dua Lipa
2 Cupid - Fifty Fifty
3 Lost - Linkin Park

Finally, we haven't had anything good from Linkin Park in almost 10 years (One More Light was crap), but this song saved us. Long live Linkin Park.

Pretty awesome unreleased song from the Meteora era of Linkin Park. Very excited for the 20th anniversary of Meteora and what these unreleased songs/demos will be like.

Ah, it's so nice to hear Chester's voice again. Can't wait to see what the 20th anniversary edition of Meteora will be like.

4 Pastel Painted People in Candy Coloured Crowds - The Arcana
5 But Here We Are - Foo Fighters
6 Storyboard - The Arcana

Soaring in the stratosphere guitar.

7 Begin Again - Jessie Ware

I'm aware it only went to number 1 because of my remix, but PLEASE give this a listen. This is one of the most incredible, grand, and uplifting pop songs I've ever heard in my entire life. The album this comes from, That! Feels Good!, is probably the best pop album of the decade so far. If you haven't listened to it, give it a spin. You won't regret it.

8 Every Mountain - The Arcana
9 I Can See You Today - The Arcana
10 Lifetime - The Arcana

The Newcomers

? The Way - Manchester Orchestra
? Hurricane Party - Dessa
The Contenders
11 Vampire - Olivia Rodrigo

Following the smash success of her debut album Sour in 2021, Olivia Rodrigo is back with a new scorcher. It may sound like a "Drivers License 2.0" at the beginning, but it quickly transitions into a dramatic pop-rock number that delivers an emotional punch without bending under its own weight of pathos. As always, her vocals are stunning, and her songwriting is honest and straightforward. This is the lead single to her upcoming sophomore album GUTS. Welcome back, OR. I can't wait to see how you've grown since Sour.

12 C’est Comme Ça - Paramore

Another great song by Paramore. Looks like their album will be awesome.

13 Kisses - Slowdive

This hypnotic and dreamlike song is my current favorite of 2023 as of August. My love for this song took me down a hazy path into Slowdive's discography and other shoegaze albums.

14 Ghost - Ava Max

Easily the best track off of Diamonds and Dancefloors. I will never tire of themes that illustrate ghostly figures as premonitions of the lovely but fearful psychological terrors that torment the mind. The danger that they provide impacts you even when they're not around. It's a perfect mirror of Cold as Ice, with a shifted perspective of who's really the true hexing enchantress in the relationship.

15 A&W - Lana Del Rey

Lana Del Rey keeps on impressing me with this new track. It starts off as a folksy ballad before slowly morphing into a trap beat. It also features some of Lana's best lyrics to date. I can't wait to hear the album.

16 White Horse - Chris Stapleton
17 Can't Tame Her - Zara Larsson
18 Gossip - Måneskin

Another nice rocker by Måneskin with a catchy chorus. Tom Morello's solos are nice too, although they're kinda generic.

19 Pharaon - Alpha 9
20 King of Oklahoma - Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit
21 Michael Keaton - Ruston Kelly
22 Eyes Closed - Ed Sheeran
23 Learn How to Surf - Owl City

They only had two big hits and they're still relevant. Shows you the music industry likes to focus on what's trending because that's what pop music is.

24 You First - Paramore
25 Evangeline - Stephen Sanchez

He breaks the follow-up single curse with flying colors! A heavenly sample use that reimagines and augments its source material into a new context, harmonizes splendidly with Sanchez's retro-esque romantic entrancement sound, and incredibly loving protective allures to be enthralled in.

Deserves every ounce of praise and attention it could receive, period.
