Top 10 Best Movies of 2023
-
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3
It's a good, funny movie. I personally think ages 10 and up can watch this because it doesn't really have a whole lot of violence, but it does have some disrespectful words. It's still a movie with good action, adventure, humor, and a lot of other stuff too. It is also a great family movie to watch.
Even though Chris Pratt and the rest of the heroes saved the day once again, this is a great film.
Good work for Disney and Marvel.
Groot: I love you guys.
Funny yet dark. I like the song taste, especially Beastie Boys. Very cool, but kinda basic story though. A lot of good moments.

Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse
The highly anticipated 'Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse' is one of the few superhero sequels that is able to take the elements that the first movie excelled in and amplify them even further, making the second movie just as exhilarating as the first. The stunning animation alongside the compelling and carefully crafted storyline makes this movie beloved by all who watch it.
Every aspect of this movie sets a high standard for upcoming movies. The characters are intricate and realistic, attracting viewers to their unique and lovable personalities. The movie also does an incredible job of introducing new comic characters to mainstream media. The voice acting is incredibly well done, with all the characters given suitable and great voices to add to their already fleshed-out personalities.
The amazing animation done by Sony Pictures brings the story to life. The art style the movie showcases is one that everyone can enjoy, regardless of age. It is simple enough that kids can understand what they are looking at, but complex enough to appeal to adults. The art style does a fantastic job of animating the contrasting styles of different character designs and making them look appealing.
Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is the best movie to come out in 2023, and there is no doubt that 'Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse' will dominate when it releases as well.

Oppenheimer
Why is this so low on the list? An amazing movie with a top-tier budget and acting, and an absolute technical marvel. I've seen the movie three times now and still get chills around the two-hour mark with the Trinity test.
Harry Truman: The buck stops here.
Absolutely amazing movie, very well directed, great score, incredibly acted.

The Super Mario Bros. Movie
An animated adaptation of the iconic video game franchise, the film follows Mario as he teams up with Princess Peach to save Luigi from the evil Bowser. It features the voices of Chris Pratt, Anya Taylor-Joy, Jack Black, Seth Rogen, and more. The movie was a massive financial success, grossing over one billion dollars worldwide.
As a huge Mario fan myself, I absolutely loved it. It's pure, entertaining fun with none of that preachy, woke content Hollywood loves to include these days. It's the type of film people actually want these days but rarely get anymore, unfortunately. Those idiotic critics who are bashing the movie don't know what they're talking about, especially since they are generally biased and out of touch with audiences these days.
I have never seen a better-animated movie. Ever since I was 3 and played Mario Brothers Wii for the first time (and raged too much on it), I wanted this movie to come out. Now, being 17 and actually seeing it when it came out was a gift from the heavens. This movie was my second favorite, the favorite being Revenge of the Sith.

Barbie
"I'm a Barbie girl, in a Barbie world! Life in plastic, it's fantastic!" So is this movie! It features Barbie and Ken going into the real world for the first time. Watch what happens to them as they meet the person who is currently playing with Barbie and how they stop the Kens from taking over, turning Barbieworld into Kendom forever.
Funny, charming, and very self-aware, Barbie shines exactly because it knows what it's doing and blends tone and intention greatly. The cast is great, but Ryan Gosling deserves a mention! He is absolutely hilarious!
-
John Wick: Chapter 4
An action movie starring Keanu Reeves as John Wick, who uncovers a path to defeating The High Table and faces off against new enemies with powerful alliances.
John Wick: Chapter 4 is a must-watch. It has the best fight scenes I have ever witnessed in cinema history. Though the runtime might seem a bit long, it was fine for me. The fights in this movie last around 15-20 minutes each, and it's absolutely insane.
The choreography is second to none, and the set pieces are perfect. Great action, good humor, some fun characters, and a pretty decent story make up for a fantastic action film on so many levels.
One of the best action movies in the last 10 years! Epic, thrilling, fantastic action scenes and a great conclusion.
-
Shazam! Fury of the Gods
A superhero movie starring Zachary Levi as Shazam, who faces off against Helen Mirren as Hespera, the daughter of Atlas.
I honestly like the first movie better, but this was still a great movie!
This movie is straight-up over-hated.

Killers of the Flower Moon
-
The Little Mermaid
It's great for children around the age of five or higher. I like it because I am a big mermaid fan. It is very cool. You should watch it!
Beautiful voice and set/scenery overall. I think Ariel is black because an oil spill got her.

Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves
The best movie there was. No question. The best movie about the best game.

Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania
A superhero movie starring Paul Rudd and Evangeline Lilly as Ant-Man and the Wasp, who explore the Quantum Realm and face a new villain, Kang the Conqueror.
I watched this with my dad, and it was really good. Four and a half stars.
-
M3GAN
A young robotics engineer creates a highly advanced AI doll with the goal of helping children with trauma. When the doll becomes self-aware, it turns against the engineer and her family in a deadly game of cat and mouse.
This was the scariest movie I've ever seen. Plus, I bought the DVD of the director's cut, so I got to see even more blood and violence than what people saw in cinemas. This works out really great because I wouldn't be allowed in the screening room to watch it since I was 13 when it came out.
Not the scariest movie, but still really good. It also has a surprising moral message: technology isn't a solution to problems, it's just a distraction.
Love the movie! Great horror movie for people who just started watching horror movies (like me). Deserves to be in the top 10.

See my list on the subject of this film - actually, go and watch it! Do that first. It's so good!
-
Godzilla Minus One
Truly a fantastic film. One of my favorite theatrical experiences.
-
Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning Part One
This is such a good action movie with a captivating and exhilarating story, and it's filled with great action sequences. There were many twists where I felt gripped by this movie.
Came across more like a James Bond film than a Mission: Impossible - but still way better than Mission: Impossible 2 (whatever that was). A fantastic new installment to the series!
Does anyone not enjoy over-the-top action? Yeah, they are dumb, but they are original and not just remakes.

Wish
The vitriol this film has received is simply unfair. I was not impressed with anything Disney made in the past decade until I saw this. Now, if I could spend the rest of my days in Rosas, I would.

Cocaine Bear
A comedy movie directed by Elizabeth Banks and based on a true story of a bear that ingested cocaine from a drug smuggler's plane and went on a rampage in Kentucky.
