On Atheism, Homosexuality, and Christianity (For TopTensFan)

LizardKing99 This post is directed towards what I've seen on the lists 'Reasons to Not Like Atheists' and 'Reasons to Not Like Homosexuals'. I'm not here to argue. I'm not here to get angry or try to prove that someone is right. I request that you, TopTensFan, just read what I have to say here. I have been going to church every time the doors open since I was a small child. I can't say that I'm a Christian anymore, but I know a lot about the religion. To be honest, I'm just disappointed by these lists. In the Bible, it says a lot of things, lifestyles and beliefs are sins; I recognize that. In the Bible it also tells us about how Jesus acted towards these people. He didn't say "you guys are all demons and nerds, you're going to hell". He always showed love toward the people he thought were in need. If he saw that someone was lost or needed spiritual guidance, he helped them. If someone rejected him or was mean to him, he turned the other cheek; that means he was loving to them regardless of how he was treated. THAT is what Christianity should be all about: loving everyone and turning the other cheek - not bashing and hating everyone that is different.
From a former Christian to a Christian, hopefully you'll take the time to read this.

Good post! While I do think homosexuality is wrong and that I disagree with atheism I do agree with this blog post. You shouldn't hate a person for being different from you even though you may disagree with their lifestyle, religion, etcetera. - RiverClanRocks (7/3/2015)
