There are plenty of artists that can be branded sellouts after releasing one album that is different from the rest. Linkin Park and Metallica are two of the more obvious ones. One I definitely know is a sellout in my eyes is Finger Eleven with their album Them vs. You vs. Me and especially the song Paralyzer.

I, avoid it. I'm not really a fan of the genre, and I'm not sure if it is a darker version of death metal or something. The shrieking screaming vocals are a put off. I don't know if you're into grunge or not but I have a quick question. What is it that makes post-grunge different from traditional grunge? They say post-grunge is more radio friendly. Was traditional grunge too much for the mainstream radio back then? - visitor (8/4/2015)

Post-grunge got famous after Kurt Cobain died. That's kind of how I look at it. Actual grunge for me is usually before 1994, which was that year he died. Yeah, PG is a bit more radio friendly, but the more popular bands get it more. Traditional grunge was either too punk (like old Mudhoney) or too metal (like old Soundgarden). Also, it was budding at the time hair bands were still totally popular, until Smells Like Teen Spirit wrecked their reputation and brought grunge to mainstream. Uh no. I meant that how their music sounds is similar to other punk or other metal. Like Touch Me, I'm Sick has a very punkish sound, similar to punk bands from before, while Soundgarden's stuff from Badmotorfinger has a very heavy metal-like hook to it (like Jesus Christ Pose E.G.) - NuMetalManiak (8/6/2015)
