INTRODUCTION: Short Story Series

RaineSage Hello fellow site visitors and TopTenners! I was thinking of maybe making an ongoing post series on this website, so that's what I am going to do!

The posts are going to be short stories that are going to be released randomly on my profile often under a novel list. There isn't going to be any "every Monday" time frames or whatnot, but they are going to be released when I have the time to write them.

They are going to include short stories (around 1000-2000 words) about pretty much every fiction and comedy I come up with, both fanfiction and original, so there is going to be quite a wide variety in the content of the stories included. Mainly fiction, however.

For those that are interested in the series then I have a short writing sample down below in the italics. Judge it how you can, and whether you like the sample or not then I thank you for reading it. :)

A blanket of rain was cascading down onto the sun kissed tarmac far below the creature's all seeing vision, the beautiful icy needles of silver water smashing down upon the hundreds of golden tendrils that made up the skeleton of what was visible to the naked human eye.

As the colourless white droplets splashed outwards at the brief impact of the rapid fall, any normal mortal eye that looked upon the incident would simply chalk it down to the water exploding as it hits the tarmac. However, what could actually be witnessed was far more significant than that. Just outside the league of the human eye to grab onto, like a beloved balloon lifting away from a child's fingertips and rising high into the deep azure sky, the beauty of the world was only half appreciated by those blind eyed creatures.

Water falling down and crashing into the ground with many song-like sounds of impact, corresponding noises rising up to make an elegant and mind blowing symphony of the angels, a beautiful fact of nature.

Birds chatting in earnest with each other in the trees far above with the sequence of a talented and renowed musical composer, a beautiful fact of nature.

Through the eyes of the ones like us, the world that we hover above shines in a completely different spectrum of the beautiful and breathtaking light of life. Countless they were, but they were still there. Golden tendrils of light secretly make up everything that is visible to the mortals, moving and shaking constantly in the same way that guitar strings ping when plucked by a slender hand.

This time, however, the strings play with the unwilling help of the humans they are invisible to. They are constantly being plucked at by the figurative hands of individuals and movement alike, zillions of breathtaking tendrils of light pulsing and releasing music up into the universe constantly every millisecond.

Who said being a professional music listener wasn't any fun? Well nobody in the context that I meant it by. People like us exist as well in the universe around you, silent observers of the delicate and powerful waves of musical harmony that rise up from the earth as the song of the world. Regular humans that are unfamiliar to the sound would say it sounded too clustered and it has too much going on to enjoy, but how would you deny the beautiful sound of life itself moving onwards from the crescendo of a life's beginning that always had a habit of bringing tears to my eyes and goosebumps to my skin?

Everything that lives on that world releases it's own sound into the universe, whether it is a negative low tone or a positive high tone that gets released depends on the positivity of the situation. With overpopulation almost constantly rising around the Earth, the massive variety between negative and positive has started to sound phenomenal and almost painfully loud to me. However these days such a song of existence has been slowly getting even more deeper toned.

It is scaring me in a way.

Negative musical tones are in abundance around the world at this point, and I have to wonder when everything will be peaceful once again. ISIS terrorists making innocent citizens live in constant fear, overpopulation issues that are forcing people to the corner of the Earth, and Zayn leaving One Direction… Aparrantly that is important to the negativity as well, not that it bothers me all that much.

Just like many other 'significant' bands on the planet they are nothing more than insignificant dots that live on trying to be (and are hailed as by many people) the best people in the world, and yet the music they release is as insignificant to ears like mine as that of an average human being. The musical masterpiece will pass them by, that group of people being replaced by yet another insignificant individual or group that has its own music as quiet as the group of average humans that they are. Not that I blame the humans, however. They are ants that can be entertained by pretty much everything the grand song of the world throws at them.

Everything and everyone that exists, no matter how significantly they are hailed as by the humans and general public, are nothing more than insignificant in the massive tune of existence that continues to play onwards with their guitar plucks being replaced by another when they die. Everything contributes to the grand scheme of life itself, but nothing can truly dominate and take over the experience that I am currently listening to from far above. But there is something I ask myself; When will everything at long last return to complete and utter silence?

There has been something I have been pondering about very recently, something that I can't help but feel a harsh and unforgiving lump in my throat whenever I think about it.

Every song has a grand finale.

What is it going to be like for the humans? Is their grand finale going to be a hauntingly deep audio slow down, the negative tones of fear and anguish composed by a zombie apocalypse similar to that of their common cinema?

Is the music simply going to vanish one day without warning, the life of everything that exists peacefully claimed by an unpredictable global disaster, wiping everything off the Earth and leaving only silence and quiet sounds of earthworms and surviving insects?

Is war and famine going to be the force that wipes all humans off the face of the planet, leaving behind nothing more than the faint song of the trees and maybe the strings of a few survivors?

The only think I have to say is that I don't know. Just like my nonexistent appearance and name that I will leave up to you to give me, the knowledge of the finale of the Earth is as disappointingly nonexistent. I listen, wary and fearful, at the beaurful music that is released by the creatures on the Earth.

When will such a beautiful masterpiece fade to the vague noises of a few trees and surviving wildlife?

Nobody will ever know.
