How the Chiefs can Beat the Titans in the AFC Championship

Well here we are again. The AFC Championship at Arrowhead. No we don’t have the Patriots or Ravens but instead the Tennessee Titans. Because everyone saw that coming.... The Titans are White Hot at the moment but here’s some keys for the Chiefs to win the AFC Championship
Kansas City is favored by 7 and has about a 75% chance of winning but If there’s one thing you should beware of Tennessee has beat Kansas City 3 times in a row. Including Week 10 in Patrick Mahomes Return. 2 of those 3 wins were at Arrowhead including the 2017 wild card game. Overall I expect this to be a close call with a margin decided by less than 10 points. The Titans' head coach Vrabel, a member of the Bill Belichick coaching tree, is very defensive minded and has faced off with offensive genius Andy Reid multiple times in his career, both as a player and coach. Through all these meetings, Vrabel likely has a game plan set for how to attack an Andy Reid built offense, and likewise, Reid has developed a sense of Vrabel’s defensive game plan. Remember Baltimore was deemed “virtually unstoppable” and the Titans Punched them in the mouth and the Ravens never truly recovered from it as Tennessee gave them fits all game long. The same could happen again

Dominating the Line of Scrimmage:
One of the reasons Derrick Henry has been tearing apart Defenses and has been called “unstoppable” is because he becomes a more dominant runner when he builds momentum. The Chiefs have to control the line of scrimmage, building a brick wall with no gaps causing Henry to hesitate and force plays out to the sidelines. The more Derrick Henry must work laterally instead of down the field the better chance the Chiefs defense has to stop him from running for 10+ yards per carry and making big plays

On the flip side, the Chiefs’ O line needs to win their battle and keep Patrick Mahomes safe from sacks so he can shred the Titans’ defense. The Titans will bring a variety of blitzes from their talented front seven testing Mahomes' protection. If they can protect Mahomes it’s more likely that he will be able to make big plays which will be critical for running this electrifying offense

Contain Derrick Henry:
It’s no secret that Tennessee has been riding Derrick Henry this entire postseason. The Patriots and Ravens couldn’t contain him causing them to throw fits on defense. If the Titans have any chance at winning they will have to rely on their one man wrecking crew Derrick Henry. Let’s be honest we won’t be able to completely take him out and keep him as a non factor but we can’t be Falling victims to his deadly sidearm. They have to keep him in check at all times

Beware of Trick Plays:
Titans are a 6 seed who has nothing to lose and everything to gain by being aggressive. I Expect them to be a feisty bunch who won’t give up on a drive. Even if it means going for it on 4th down or if they’re at the goal line you better believe they have something tucked up their sleeves ready to pull out at any time. This is a team that is capable and KC has gotten burned by trick plays before from time to time.

Limit Turnovers and Big Plays:
Earlier when we met the Chiefs had a few miscues which led to the Titans winning. Last week there were several miscues early on leading to Houston pouncing on a 24-0 lead. We can’t make those type of mistakes. Like I said the Titans have nothing to lose and everything to gain here. They will take advantage

So yeah with that said I think we’re in for a good one. I’m not gonna jinx anyone but first we must pray

Please do not allow Derrick Henry to make big plays
Please do not allow the Chiefs to choke
We have been cursed for many years and the Titans have owned us as of late.
We pray that thy Arrowhead demons of old shall not return upon us
We ask for no injuries to our team
We ask for no refball to happen upon us
Let Mahomes’ throws be pure and plentiful and let them be caught by Chiefs receivers for touchdowns
And may the runs be long and plentiful and also score for touchdowns
We pray the Madden Curse May be broken once and for all
Chiefs Kingdom is ready. We have been ready for almost 50 years now
Please let us advance to the Super Bowl and hoist thy Lombardi Trophy in the air
