Steins;Gate is a 2011 anime television series created by the animation studio White Fox based on 5pb. and Nitroplus's 2009 video game of the same name, and is part of the Science Adventure franchise. A time travel sci-fi anime series with extremely thought-provoking themes. It's an emotional, bittersweet, philosophical, thrilling adventure through the eyes of self-proclaimed mad scientist Okabe Rintarou. The first half of the show is very slow, but the second half is fantastic and is what the series is known for.
Very, very, very well done. The dialogue and voice acting is excellent. This series tapped into some of the deepest aspects of humanity, in my opinion.

Portals to different time periods start opening up and creatures from the past and future start to come through. There are indications that the portals are man-made, but their exact origin is shrouded in mystery.
It's just such a fun show. The CGI is good, the acting is good, and the character development is great. It's just one of those shows you can't hate no matter how hard you try.
