Breakdown I The Clone Wars Trilogy

In this new series has me breaking down Movies, Video Games, and more to come. Today debuting the series I shall start with the Star Wars franchise. Especially the movies that got us hooked into the mega franchise that it is to this day. Granted the original trilogy that started the whole thing was A New Hope, and there after, but let's do this as George Lucas would start it from easily the most cringeworthy trilogy. Two decades later after a long hiatus of not making movies they came back in 1999 with a whole new war.

The Phantom Menace

Now this might be the movie most point to as the worst. Its right there i'm not gonna lie. The acting is easily the worst of all of them. They do not show that much emotion at all except Jar Jar and Young Anakin. The story is a weird narrative approach from the start. We're greeted in the trade federation gunship with both Obi Wan Kenobi and Qui-Gon Jinn just there as the separatists have betrayed them. On the way you learn of the leader Darth Sidious and apprentice Darth Maul are behind this. Our heroes than travel to planet Naboo and meet one of the most polarizing characters in Star Wars history. The Jedi's also rescue Queen Padme taking her to Tatooine for now until the next plan which is said throughout. Anakin pretty much does nothing expect at the near end which many say was one of the more bigger highlights of this episode (the pod racing scenes). I find it ironic though Yoda senses the great evil in Anakin that would turn out to be the case. Being annoyed by the newly elected Chancellor, Queen Padme decides to go back to Naboo in which case Kenobi and Qui-Gon would confront Darth Maul in this final confrontation. Just hearing that John Williams score for Darth Maul is ungodly. Anakin who goes in a starship to cover inadvertently takes off. In this epic lightsaber duel Qui-Gon is meant his end to Maul's hand. To Obi-Wan's shock he is all that's left to defeat the powerful sith lord. Somehow able to overwhelm Darth Maul cutting him in half and using the force to push him off the dark pit. With a little life left Qui-Gon told Obi Wan to train Anakin. Back at the jedi council he is promoted forever a jedi knight, and let him train he's padawan.

Pros:
- Darth Maul was a good villain, John Williams score is awesome. Pod-racing scene is cool.

Cons:
- Horrific dialogue and expressions, Jar Jar Binks can top some of these highly recognized actors/actresses.

F, 3.5/10 (Atrocious movie to watch again and again as time goes by this one is the least to look forward to. As much as I like the addition of Darth Maul he is not enough to save this movie and its emotionless acting.)

Attack of the Clones

Just when you think the acting was bad in the first movie. This one is right up there and what I should mean more a bottom pole as well. The story is completely moronic it revolves around Senator Padme getting murdered all because she opposes what the chancellor wants. The pattern though its so hysierally bad its good type plots. Chancellor goes and talks to Count Dooku who then talks to Jango Fett than talks to his acquaintance shape shifting friend to go do it instead. What's more hilarious about the early portion of the movie is Jango Fett just goes ahead and kill the shape shifter for whatever reason. Obi Wan goes to Kamino where in theory he could have put an end to the whole war if he knew ahead of time that's where the clones were being made. Obi Wan sits there with the two fetts like ''sure i'll play along with.'' The republic clones are all based around one of the main antagonists of this movie. How do you not see that? They fight for a small bit the Fetts get the advantage escaping back to Geonosis. On the other side though is the love connection that is Senator Padme and Anakin Skywalker. This is brutally hard to watch how bad their trying to connect with one another. If you want a great to describe the acting is specifically Hayden Christensen ''AAAUUUUUUUUUGGGGHHHHHHH!''

Our heroes eventually find their way into the final battle on you guessed it Geonosis. For me the only good part of the movie is when the entire republic force come to the aid of Padme, Anakin, and Obi Wan. Suddenly the arena is filled with an all our war. They make their way of the execution arena, and try to track down Count Dooku in a nearby cave. Mace Windu disposes Jango Fett head sliced right in front of a young Boba Fett witnessing his father's death. Obi Wan and Anakin are able to find Dooku, both got bested real easily by the Count in near seconds. Yoda puts up a decent fight though as they escape. So really nobody really died expect Jango Fett who was actually a very good addition to the film. They say this is just the beginning... yeah sure it was. Anakin and padme get married which is probably the worst ending to a Star Wars movie I could ever remember sitting down through.

Pros:
- Jango Fett, and Count Dooku are good villains, the geonosis battle was entertaining to some extent.

Cons:
- Hilariously dumb plot, Obi Wan is very clueless to what he seen at Kamino. Forgettable score, relationship scenes were tough to watch how horrible the expressions were (similar to the last episode). Politics in a Sci-Fi film?

F, 2/10 (Sure the first one has the worst acting, but there are some things I can appreciate more than this second episode. Right from the start you knew that the script of the plot was the worst of all the Star Wars films. A second half of a scene is not enough to save this film that being the Geonosis battle.)

Revenge Of The Sith

After the duo of awful films my expectations for the 3rd and final movie were low in the clone wars saga. Right away it started off interesting we see our two protagonists Obi Wan and Anakin trying to get aboard a commanding speristsi ship led by both Count Dooku and General Grievous. Using the chancellor as a hostage to lure the jedi's to get to the deck. Obi Wan is taken out all together it becomes a one on one duel. Dooku is defeated by a much more powerful Anakin Skywalker. Chancellor pleads to Anakin to give a fatality blow and end Dooku. He does so and the plant is seeded. They encounter General Grievous who it is never addressed how he just pops up for this one film alone. As Obi Wan says ''you will not escape again.'' battle scene ends as Chancellor, Anakin, and Obi Wan all get back down to Coruscant. Anakin and Obi Wan split, Chancellor than gets more closer to morphing Anakin more luring into the dark side. While that's going on Obi Wan goes to Utapau and end the way against the Separatists once and for all. Republic sends in reinforcements to even the odds than it turns into an exciting one on one duel between these two generals. Obi Wan was getting the best of him for the most part until he realized how to destroy Grievous in the heart that beats. He does successfully and takes control of the winning battle coming close to an end. On the other side Anakin is given the information that the Chancellor is indeed Darth Sidious (a sith lord) to Mace Windu. He gets three other jedi's to put him under arrest, and ''that its treason isn't it.'' Jumps into a killing frenzy where its down to he and Windu where he is nearly defeated until Anakin arrived to his eventual aid. As a result of this betrayed to the jedi council, and becoming one of the greatest villains in Star Wars history.

Lord vader would go on such a spastic angered mood to the point he murdered little jedi trained kids. Speaking of which Order 66 is the most dark scene in any Star Wars movie I don't know what else would top it. All the fallen Jedi's are dying before our eyes and the clones would turn on every single one in sight. Only Yoda, and Obi Wan survived and had to quickly get to the bottom of this back at Coruscant. In this final battle Obi Wan would confront Lord Vader on the planet Mustafar in which he slaughtered the remaining separatist leaders for good. Yoda would confront Darth Sidious in a very disappointing showing since he did not hardly do much against the evil overlord. On the other side though was one of the best lightsaber duels in Obi Wan and Lord Vader in the pit of Lava by their side. Before this though Vader chokes Padme in a coma putting her out awhile. This whole scene had me going ''yeah I have missed this excitement for awhile it felt like.'' Some say the fight went too long, but it was fitting to see the epic finish that has internet memes going to this day. ''You were the Chosen One! It was said that you would destroy the Sith, not join them. bring balance to the force, not leave it in darkness. I HATE YOU!'' Before Padme dies she named the two babies to be Luke and Leia. We then see Lord Vader in true form saying this ''Where is padme? In you anger you have killed her. NO!!!!!!'' Honestly if it ended like that would have been more fit. Instead we Obi Wan deliver the babies to set up the next trilogy.

Pros:
- Order 66, very memorable lines, One of McDiarmid best performances as Palpatine, Great Display of how Anakin turns more sinister, great score.

Cons:
- Some of the unnecessarily long scenes at the beginning half could of been trimmed, Yoda felt more inferior than the last movie. Again politics I could be without in a movie honestly.

B- 8/10 (Its a surprisingly good film that easily toppled the other two leaps and bounds. Everybody actually shows emotion to their characters. A couple of big moments really shine well that are still being memed today. Its a classic I always look forward to seeing every time I revisit it.)
