Crossover Academy (Section 1- Introduction)

RaineSage It was dark in the cut off world of Crossover Academy. A light dusting of ethereal speckles of starlight lit up the opal black skyline way around them, as the academy itself stood forlornly in the very middle of a floating island made of only half visible light. The island was suspended impossibly above an abyss of nothing at all but sky and stars, with nothing across the edges to avoid people falling off and down to their impending doom. By outside appearance, the Academy was an almost boring looking rectangular white brick building, with three colossal quartz arches placed neatly across the black light pathway stretching from the pit towards the entrance in one long line. All in all the entire island but the school had the appearance of a badly rendered hologram, which somehow can be stepped on by the feet on any individual. The light even has the ability to withstand one hundred trolls.

There was something eye wideningly magnificent about Crossover Academy, however, and that was the inner appearance of the school. Which is something that nobody in their right mind would have guessed based on the outside appearance alone.

Three figures could be seen walking across the transparent ground along the side of the floating island, staring out onto the abyss with their own unique expressions gracing their faces. One of them looked calm and collected, one looked excited and one had the expression which basically screamed 'I never should have agreed to this.'

They were staring at another smaller light based island far in the distance, a long length away from the main island they were on, which has been the basis for many rumors among the Academy's many curious students.

"Castle, are you sure there is going to be something over there?" The only girl of the tiny trio said in barely concealed annoyance, seeming to not like the idea of this possibly fruitless nighttime trek outside the school's strict curfew hours. The younger boy, CastlevaniaFanboy, simply gave a small chuckle and waved one of his arms in the direction of the island.

"Well we wouldn't be able to prove the rumours false if we don't try, right?" The boy said in excitement and his usual eager amusement. The girl, RaineSage, or Raveness as she was known among the students, gave a small sigh and didn't reply to his exclamation, getting off the light that was making the floor and crossing her arms in thought.

The other member of the group, TurkeyAsylum, the youngest and the dark user of the small ragtag group, gave a small shake of his head. "Yeah, that is all well and good, but how exactly ARE we going to get over there from here?" He asked incredulously, hand itching to conjure his dark sickle back into existence at the slightest hint of danger or an upcoming teacher ready to send them back to their dorms.

Raveness moved over to stand just over the edge of the island, staring at the island carefully that seemed to be moving away from them. Castle, who seemed to have used the last of his glowing optimism, gave a small shrug and fingered the red symbol standing out on his hand. "I am not sure… Raveness, Turkey, any smart ideas from you guys?"

"It's your idea. I thought you had a plan when you asked?" Turkey bit back in annoyance, also unhappy about being torn out of bed for a limited reason.

"No! I thought we could have sorted it out when we got there!" The scythe user snapped back.

A gasp came from Raveness and she ran back over to the other two, attempting to breaking them out of their light hearted argument. "Guys" she hissed, and the two looked up rapidly. "I found something. No clue what it is, though."

That caught their attention. Castle looked up briefly, glancing over in the direction in which the young TopTenner was looking. "What is it?" He asked quietly. Turkey walked over as well, forehead creased slightly.

Lying on the ground was a small silver crystal in a dense orb shape, the edges seeming to be glowing fiercely so their eyes had to squint to look at it. It's appearance was oddly familiar however, and Raveness had to concentrate her mind to pinpoint where she recognised it from.

Turkey walked over to the Crystal warily, hovering his guantlet-clad hand on top of the fierce glow to make sure it was safe enough to touch. With a quick glance over to the island, he scooped it up in the palm of his hand, balancing it on the leather of his hard black gauntlet as he got up from the ground below with rapid precision. "It doesn't look safe. Let's take it to a teacher." He pointed out quietly.

"I guess we could, but how can you be SURE it is dangerous? Nobody knows what it is. It could be a healing item or something." Castle replied with slightly raised eyebrows, obviously intrigued with the sudden turn of events. "And also, then the teacher's will know we have been out after curfew!"

Turkey clasped the item tightly within his hands and slipped it within his pocket. "It just doesn't… feel right. We need to have it checked out. It could be anything."

All throughout this discussion, Raveness was staring in the distance with wide eyes. She was staring at something behind the talking duo's small line of vision, as she slid a small keyring out of her pocket and watched as it enlarged in size to become a massive silver staff. The staff was long and yet portable enough to carry easily, with a large blue diamond at the end with dangerously sharp metal wing shaped blades on either side. She was staring at the island that was the center of attention a few minutes ago. There was something there. "W-what?!" She rasped, stealing a glance at the talking students behind her. "Look over there!"

she only just managed to shout that last phrase before a figure was visible behind the duo, giving an unfamiliar piercing screech unlike anything else. A clang of matter against metal was audible in the darkened starlit night. TurkeyAsylum was parrying the shadowy figure's sudden attack, his sickle made of solid dark matter shivering in his hand before him as he summoned it into existence. Castle had vanished completely.

"W-who are you?!" Turkey stuttered in shock as the tried to parry the figure's constant blows. It was impossible to tell what the figure's weapon actually was due to the darkness stealing most of the vision from their eyes. It seemed very large however and the figure constantly rotated his body to allow the attacks to hit, and it was something that could strike as quickly as he could block them.

A faint familiar female voice was heard from behind, and the unfamiliar voice gave a small chuckle. "course ya won't be bothered to know." He said simply, leaping away from the enraged sickle user.

The figure ran forward to attack once more to attack Turkey, but a voice stopped him in his tracks. "Radiant Waterline!" The voice roared in anger, and a narrow thread of pale blue light trailed from Raveness's staff over to the figure, causing a fierce splash of water and light to blow the figure away. As the line got closer to the body the figure gave a loud gasp as he crashed onto the ground farther away from the small duo, skidding to a halt and laying near the edge of the island.

Turkey was staring at the figure in amazement, and Raveness looked at him. "What's the matter? Notice anything?" She asked simply, readying her staff to charge up another water elemented attack.

"Yes… The weapon…." he stuttered quietly, and Raveness tilted her head as if to convince him to continue.

Suddenly the night was lit up massively as a house sized blazing inferno of pure red fire arched from a point away from the group and torpedoed away from a focal point, smashing through the ground and burning everything in its wake to nothing but cinders. The fire was a massive waterfall of red, and Raveness had to shield her eyes as best she could to avoid her going blind.

The light faded away soon afterwards and eyes could be opened. A massive section of the light making up the ground had vanished, and the mysterious attacker was nowhere to be seen. Nothing but ash and cinders remained. Turkey wasn't worried as he was aware who did it.

The dark user looked back at the source of the flame, a young human being with 3D glowing tattoos of radiant fire crawling across his arms and face, pulsing like they held magnificent power. A scythe made of flame was visible in his hands, not burning the boy at all.

"Castle, I thought I told you to be careful with your fire! Now half the floor is missing!" Turkey hissed incredously as the glowing "tattoos" crawling up Castle's face and arms vanished as fast as they came, the symbol on his hand making up the only lasting one.

The boy dismissed his scythe as well, the fire making up its mass flowing quickly from its form and into the red symbol on his hand. Raveness walked over to the two slowly, the staff still in her hand as she looked around for more of those mysterious people.

"Well I got him, didn't I?" Castle pointed out in amusement. Turkey sighed and dismissed his dark scythe with a wave of his hand.

"Actually you finished him off. You didn't beat him."

"WHAT?! Damn my fire for taking so long to charge up!" Castle hissed in annoyance, as the three of the students grouped together once again to make sense of what had just happened. Raveness dismissed her staff back into the keyring as it became apparant that the night was still once again.

"Maybe it is best if we go inside for now…?" Raveness pointed out as she glanced at the world around them for any movement ready to jump out at them. "Remember we shouldn't be out here in the first place."

Turkey gave a small nod and began walking back under the large white archways that mark the entrance to the school grounds, emerging into the mainly cream reception room. From the outside the school looked tiny, but the reception room was mysteriously half the visible size of the school itself. Raveness followed rapidly behind, mind turning over what had just gone down, as Castle came after them a few seconds later. As they had predicted there was nobody in the reception room at all but them, and they safely stood at the side of the room with wary eyes on the four doors strewn around the walls almost haphazardly.

"So… Turkey… I remember you noticing something about the weapon he had. If you still remember do you think you could mention what it was?" Raveness asked curiously, looking steadily into the boy's eyes.

Turkey stole a glance to look at the blue marble floorboards below them. "I know it sounds ridiculous but… Wings. I didn't see them well enough to be certian, but… METAL wings." Castle looked at him in amazement and shock, and gave a small tilt of his head as he listened on. "They seemed to have really sharp feathers that could slice through anything."

The dark user illustrated that fact by showing the two the palm of his hand. The gauntlet was sliced away badly revealing torn skin, with crimson blood trickling down his arm in a lop sided line. Raveness looked alarmed at the sight, stealing a glance at the door over to one of the hallways with narrowed eyes.
"We need to get you a Stardrop. There should be one at the school hospital, and as there tends to be someone working there at night…" she began in concern, and began walking as fast as she could over to the door. Turkey was complaining, telling her not to worry, but she didn't heed him at all.

"Wait! What about---" Castle shouted after them, but he was interrupted by his own sigh. He ran after them, closing the door quietly behind him as he ran.

(So…. There is chapter one. If you want to mention anything you want changer or amended in the future sections then please let me know. I wouldn't like you to be unhappy with it. Anything wrong with it then please let me know as well. Otherwise, I hope you enjoyed it :3)

THIS IS REALLY GOOD! - Turkeyasylum

I like this! You make it sound like a published book! :) Also, can I be in it? My weapon will be a sword made of Topaz, Emerald, Turquoise, and pink mineral. I'll use electricity. You can shorten my name if you think its too long, and sorry if I sound too demanding. - BlueTopazIceVanilla

Sorry for the late reply, I have been busy of late. However sure you can! - RaineSage
