Violator

I mean. "Personal Jesus" is my favorite song by the band overall, so this album being number one makes sense to me. However, "Dangerous", "Halo", "Memphisto", "Sibeling", "Sweetest Perfection", and "Clean" are all amazing tracks as well. It's just that "Personal Jesus" is the greatest piece of DM composition to me, and it happens to be one of my top 10 songs of all time.

Music for the Masses

In response to llllllllllllllllll, yes, I agree about this being one of their greatest albums, and I personally hold it higher than most tracks on Violator, minus Personal Jesus, which is the greatest masterpiece, in my opinion. This album had many more songs I liked, such as Strangelove, Little 15, and I Want You Now.

Not surprised. Music for the Masses is an '80s masterpiece. Despite the album's title being ironic, the record caught on, becoming a cult classic internationally. Its success is very much deserved.

Songs of Faith and Devotion

In response to llllllllllllllllll, this album is not one of my favorites. I happen to like "I Feel You" okay on the album, but for the most part, it doesn't do for me what the other albums do. It isn't particularly an amazing complete collection of tracks all by itself, but I understand it's highly regarded by some fans. I just felt it lacked the kick and oomph when it came to the overall feel of the music delivered in the other DM albums.

Black Celebration

In response to llllllllllllllllll, this is definitely not a bad album, but I happen to like the short piece "It Doesn't Matter Two" the best on the album for its composition, with "Dressed in Black" close after. I do like the remainder of the tracks, but for this to be a hot seller above all these others? I feel there are many better albums than this one. It's probably because of "Stripped", although I like the Rammstein rendition of the track too.

Ultra

In response to llllllllllllllllll, "Barrel of a Gun" is amazing, in my opinion. The rest of the tracks aren't spectacular to me. "It's No Good" is okay, but for the most part, it's not too fantastic of an album.

Playing the Angel

In response to llllllllllllllllll, "John the Revelator" is an incredible knockout and definitely in my top 3 tracks by the band overall. "Damaged People", "Lilian", "Macro", and "A Pain That I'm Used To" are also great tracks, so this album is definitely one of my absolute most favorite DM compilations overall.

Arguably their best post-heyday album. PTA features several quality songs, including the well-charting single "Precious". And their tour to promote this album actually saw them performing for more people than they did during their commercial peak, despite the album not selling as much as their "classic" records.

Exciter

In response to llllllllllllllllll: Freelove, I Feel Loved, and The Dead of Night are all exceptional tracks, in my opinion, for their compositions.

#8 seems predictable for Exciter. It's often regarded as being among their weakest albums, unfortunately, and this was past their heyday. Not to mention, there was no more Alan Wilder for them at this point.
