Top Ten Best Pop Ballads

The Top Ten
1 Purple Rain - Prince & The Revolution
2 Someone Like You - Adele

Such a beautiful, famous song that even non-Adele lovers know it. Gorgeous and should DEFINITELY be voted the number one ballad song of all time. Takes your breath away how pretty it is, doesn't it?

This song just gives you insight into Adele's painful past. She sings with such pain and grace. The thing that makes me love it is that she wrote it. AMAZING.

It's a great song by a great singer-songwriter. It reminds me of a song I wrote for my ex-girlfriend.

Do yourself a favor and watch the live performance of this song on BBC Old Grey Whistle Test 1978.

One of the best songs ever, no doubt! Kelly's vocals are perfect, the lyrics are touching, and the instrumentals are superb.

He sings with such deep emotion, and his voice is sexy and beautiful.

The Contenders
11 You're Still The One - Shania Twain

WOW! There are so many great songs on this list. But this beautiful ballad comes from one of the best female singers of all time. It deserves recognition for being the lead single of one of the best-selling albums of all time!

Also, Mum walked down the aisle to this song, so it's very special in our family.

Shania for the win! Where is she now? She needs a comeback! Come on, guys! She never fails to give REAL music!

I love Shania, and I love her voice. When she sings a ballad, it sounds like a lullaby.

12 Wuthering Heights - Kate Bush
13 Listen - Beyonce

Beyonce's voice in this song is just absolutely incredible, especially when it gets to the third chorus and she just belts it out. I love her voice.

Beyonce, girl, that song is unreal. Amazing vocals and words. I'm doing a project for English class, and that's my song!

I love this song so much.

This song is the one I chose for my homework on pop ballads. I really think the richness of Beyonce's voice in this song will wow my class when they hear it. Really lovely song!

17 Looking In - Mariah Carey
18 The Power of Love - Jennifer Rush

A classic, a bit forgotten. It touches the heart and soul. Jennifer Rush's voice masters every high and deep note in perfection!

Brilliant song. It tells us all about love, adds the feelings at its best, and the solid, strong, and warm voice of Jennifer Rush penetrates the soul.

What a song, what a sound, what a voice. The one and only original. This song means so much to me! Thank you, Jennifer Rush.

God only knows how Listen is in front of this!

Take a Bow has been named by many organizations as one of the best ballads ever. It's beautiful.

Madonna's vocals are warm and strong.

Madonna does the best ballads to me, even though she doesn't have the fifth octave like Mariah. Who cares?

Crazy for You, Live to Tell, Spanish Eyes, Rain, Take a Bow, The Power of Goodbye. The list goes on and on. Madonna is the Queen of Pop but also the Queen of Pop Ballads.

All hail her majesty, MADONNA.

This song is beautiful as heaven. Madonna does the best ballads: Live to Tell, The Power of Goodbye, I'll Remember, You'll See, and one of my favorites, The Look of Love.

23 Eternal Flame - The Bangles
24 Everytime - Britney Spears

Just listen to it, and you'll feel something happening to your soul, to your heart. Now, do you understand why Britney is so loved? Because her voice isn't so strong or so powerful, but it has an amazing intensity, the capability to break a heart in two words.

Heartbreaking was the only word I found when I first heard it. I fell madly in love with this song of fragility, and I still love it very much. Power comes from the weakened soul singing a song of sorrow.

I had to add this song because it wasn't even here. Every time makes me cry. It's such a beautiful song.

25 Bridge Over Troubled Water - Simon & Garfunkel

Without a doubt, one of the best songs ever written.
