Top 10 Best Motorhead Songs
Motörhead. Even just seeing the name conjures images of roaring motorcycles, massive amplifiers, and that iconic, gravely voice of Lemmy Kilmister tearing through speakers with unapologetic force. This band defined an era of heavy metal and rock 'n' roll rebellion, bridging the gap between punk energy and hard rock power with a raw, stripped-down approach that made them legends in both genres. For over four decades, Motörhead stayed true to their sound - uncompromising, loud, and unrelentingly aggressive - becoming a symbol of the 'no nonsense' ethos in music.Formed in 1975 by Lemmy after his exit from the space-rock band Hawkwind, Motörhead quickly built a reputation for their ear-splitting volume and fast, thrash-like sound. What really set them apart though, was their simplicity - no pretense, no gimmicks - just straightforward rock 'n' roll that hit like a freight train. Over time, they became known as much for their live performances as for their studio albums, with iconic tracks like Ace of Spades and Overkill becoming anthems for the rough-and-tumble fans of metal, punk, and everything in between.
I was just thinking (it happens occasionally) that Lemmy has a dinosaur named after him. Not very... him, is it? A more appropriate thing would be to name a rock/biker bar in his honor and call it Lemmy Inn. That would be much better, I think.
Anyway, the greatest Motörhead track ever! Legendary metal song, a tough challenge for any other band, and it has got speed and spark in it to recharge people. This song and Fade to Black by Metallica are the best metal songs ever.
Speed metal is the best genre in heavy metal, period. No question about it. There is a reason it is number one because this song really describes the band itself.
Scared the hell out of me the first time I heard it, back in the day when I was 12. It was like a message from a dark alien invasion force.
By the age of 14, I was part of the force myself, at the Apollo Manchester for the Bomber tour. Overkill, with Fast Eddie at his best, almost had them ripping the place apart. It was and is that exciting.
Nothing can really be said about this classic apart from "The final solo, you know it's coming. You wait for the drums to start and...
Every time, no matter how many times I listen to this song, I think it is finished, yet it starts up again. Amazing how my brain tricks me.
Surprisingly, the first Motörhead song I heard was Triple H's entrance song. Still, I think it's one of the best Motörhead songs and suits well for the King of Kings, H!
One can only think of such a classic when they grow up hearing such a song. A great song, it makes you feel like the king of the world. Also, I have to admit that I first heard it from H's entrance song!
Every Motorhead song is epic! Can't wait to see them again for the second time on this tour. Truly an awesome band!
Written as one of the four tracks to make up the No Remorse compilation, Lemmy peaks. This is the song that is Motörhead. The best metal song ever.
Great ending solo harmonized with vocals. Gives you shivers. The song ends and I just repeat the ending solo.
Nice intro solo as well.
The opening solo dares to say, "We'll be doing just fine without Eddie Clarke, thank you very much."
This song is so cool. It's my favorite song because it has a catchy groove and still manages to stay heavy metal.
To everyone that thinks this should be higher... it's an Ozzy cover, and it's not their song. Still amazing though!
Seriously, cover or not, this should be higher!
Badass song, awesome solo, and pure metal. This song earned being in the top ten. My favorite.
I'm going to put some boogie in your ear! Take it or leave it!
It's hard not to rock out to this one. It's so catchy!
I don't know why this isn't in the top 5. It's a really awesome song!
Should be higher on this list. The bassline is full of power and awesomeness.
Nothing really to say other than this awesome song should be higher than 12! This should easily be in the top 5! Please vote.
POWER... no other words needed to describe this song. The bassline is fantastic, and it's so fast that it kills.
I think this song is as fast as Ace of Spades. It just gives another feeling but is as nice as Ace of Spades.
How is this not in the top ten? It's a hell of a lot better than some of the tracks on that list.
Fantastic song, my personal favorite. It's like Ace of Spades, but faster.
Best of Motorhead. Should be on top with Ace of Spades and The Game!
How is this not top three? This is one of the best metal grunge songs I have ever heard. It really deserves to be in the top three, people.
It's a great song, but I haven't been able to find which album it is on.
The 1997 Remastered version is better than the original for me. I can't explain why, but the original just seems a little out of tune to me. Maybe it's because I like the remaster so much that when I hear the original, I can't help but feel that the remastered version is better.
Oh my God! Only number 15! Jesus! This is tied for #1 for me. I can see why somebody would like Ace of Spades better, but this one is far more energized and has more meaning. Ace of Spades, however, has a better guitar solo, which adds bonus points.
The Newcomers
Surprised it's so low in the rankings.
You must be kidding me, guys. Is this the worst Motorhead song?
If you don't care about this, at least have a little respect for Lemmy. This song should be in the top 20.
This song... I cannot describe how great it is. It just sounds so cool. The gritty guitar and disturbing lyrics are a combination that can never be matched. Rest in peace, Lemmy. You were the best of the best.

Rest in peace, Phil "Philthy Animal" Taylor. Rest in peace, Würzel. Rest in peace, Lemmy. Even though they're dead, they're in that kingdom of rock in the sky as we speak.
The fact that this song is at 18 is a tragedy. It should be at the top of the list. Greatest metal song of all time.
42?! Really, guys! That's one of the best metal songs out there! Great lyrics, great melody. Just GREAT!
This has the most triumphant backing of any Motorhead song. This should be top 10, in my opinion.
Awesome song. Listened to it all the time in Brutal Legend. Not my favorite Motörhead song but very near. Probably beaten by Bomber or Ace of Spades.
Absolutely my favorite song! The other songs are great (duh) but this one has something special to it. Remember, Lemmy was a roadie for Jimi Hendrix!
The ultimate roadie song! This is what I'm talking about right here! Ace of Spades was a godly album, and this song was the best.
I really like this song as my main, and then King of Kings, Ace of Spades, and finally Iron Fist.
YES, it's a new one. But YES, it's really one of the best ones. Come on, hear it.
Sick song, sick solo. Man, that song is pure rock and roll. You go full crazy listening to this.
This song is really underrated. It is a wonderful tribute to our soldiers. It literally makes me feel nauseous listening to it because it's so sad. RIP soldiers, and RIP Lemmy.
One of the most underrated Motorhead songs. A great tribute to the soldiers that fought for us.
Really, 65? This has to be at least #5! This is without a doubt the most devastating song ever written.
No Class should be in the top 5. I think this is one of the best Motörhead songs ever! A short song, but very good. I can listen to this song all day long! It's so badass. The short solo is also pretty nice. Vote for this song!
This song relates to someone you know. Who better than Lemmy to tell you that you got "No Class"?
Got to know about this when I was watching a Metallica concert where they played. This song kicks ass!
Absolutely love the riff and chorus to this song. But it's obvious that Ace of Spades is going to be first.
This song should be higher. It should be in the top 10. My favorite song on the Overkill album.
This is Motorhead at its prime. Powerful, fast, and awesome. The sound settings brilliantly blend in an electric storm of rock and roll noise.
Lyrics, melody, and the amazing Lemmy-Poison-Cry at the end are all awesome. My favorite song for now 37 years! Motörhead forever!
I think this song has one of the best lyrics of all rock 'n' roll songs ever written. Very complex, yet nicely written. Plus, the awesome guitar riffing. Altogether, for me, this is the best song Lemmy has ever produced.
It's different. Lemmy's voice, the theme of the song. Every little detail just makes this song absolutely epic.
Must be far higher on the list. Lemmy's voice has become my drug.
This is, in Motörhead's whole career, their greatest song. A finely tuned, focused song that has a really catchy drumbeat, magnificent basslines, and lyrics and singing that are in a league of their own.
The song sounds like the band really wanted to make it a hit, or they just happened to get everything right with it. Nevertheless, I put this even higher than Ace of Spades because it's really well done and has a certain mood to it.
The Ace of Spades album was their best. This is a really cool song.
The best song off possibly my favorite album.
I can't believe this is #62. It should be in the top 10 at least. If you haven't listened to it, then please go ahead. It's an awesome song with brilliant lyrics.
Evolution is a mystery. Full of changes that no one sees. Clock makes a fool of history! Come on, you know it! Greatest Motörhead song for sure!
My favorite Motorhead song. The lyrics are amazing.
