Top 10 Best Linkin Park Deep Cuts

Deep cuts are rarities or songs that are not commonly heard from a well-established artist. This list will focus more on their bonus tracks, demos, and general rare songs, not their well-established radio hits. Generally speaking, that being said, some of their more niche songs are interesting.

The Top Ten
  1. Blackbirds

It still doesn't make sense to me why this song was removed from the album. I think it could have replaced one of the interludes and improved A Thousand Suns by giving it a stronger tracklist structure. It also features one of Mike's best rap verses in a Linkin Park song.

  2. No Roads Left

The fact that this was left off the original version of Minutes to Midnight is mind-boggling, especially since it is one of Mike's best songs and has a solid melody. Including it would have improved the album's structure. Honestly, it could have replaced In Between.

  3. Across the Line

I can't quite grasp why this song was removed from Minutes to Midnight, especially since it features some of Chester's most dynamic and powerful vocals. The story it tells is also really compelling. The fact that this and No Roads Left are just bonus tracks instead of being included on the album still baffles me to this day.

This is a beautiful track that captures pain and loss. Amazing.

  4. And One

  5. More the Victim

  6. Pictureboard

The existence of this song was debated for decades, and it is actually pretty interesting. It features some of Mike's most aggressive rap cadences and was one of the earliest songs Chester recorded with the band. I wonder if it would have been released on Hybrid Theory. It might have had the potential to be a single.

  7. In the End (Demo)

  8. Massive

I hear some people compare this song to Deftones, and yes, I can hear that influence for sure. It also features some of Mike's most interesting vocals in a Linkin Park song. There aren't too many Mike-led tracks, but this one is definitely a highlight and one of the best additions to the 20th-anniversary edition of Meteora.

  9. She Couldn't

  10. Could Have Been

No one knew about this song until it was released for the Hybrid Theory 20th-anniversary edition. It is also one of the only Linkin Park songs I know of that features a bass solo toward the end. Out of all the demo tracks from Hybrid Theory, this is one of the most fascinating.

  11. The Newcomers
  12. ?

    What We Don't Know

  13. ?

    Cumulus

  14. The Contenders
  15. Shifter

This is the original version of From the Inside with different lyrics and a noticeable lack of Chester. The lyrics are somewhat fascinating, although it's clear the song lacked the punch of the final version. Still, for a demo, it is solid and has a certain charm.

  16. Blue

This was the first version of Crawling. The bridge melody is almost identical. From what I've heard, the band didn't like this version and decided to change it, which led to the creation of Crawling. Honestly, I kind of prefer Blue, especially the lyrics.

  17. Dedicated

This is a solid gem and one of their best deep cuts. I think Mike even performed it live once around 2018. He forgot a lot of the words, but considering it's an old demo, that isn't too surprising.

It has solid momentum overall. It is a song with a crescendoing atmosphere that builds as it progresses.

  18. Fighting Myself

  19. So Far Away

I would say this is the closest Linkin Park ever got to grunge. It has an Alice in Chains feel, with its dark tone and atmosphere.

It is one of their most intriguing demo songs and offers a lot, making it one of their best. The chord progression and melodies complement each other wonderfully.

  20. Resolution

  21. Sold My Soul to Yo Mama

  22. Lost

  23. High Voltage

  24. Healing Foot

  25. Carousel

  26. Step Up

  27. Standing in the Middle

  28. QWERTY

  29. Reading My Eyes
