Top 10 Best Music Artists to Listen to When You're Stoned

If you're stoned or high, here are some music artists to listen to.

The Top Ten
  1. System of a Down

System of a Down, formed in 1994, is an Armenian-American alternative metal band from Glendale, California. The band name is sometimes shortened to System or SOAD. They're known for their politically charged lyrics, often addressing topics such as genocide and war, in songs like Holy Mountains, Prison... read more

Most notably for This Cocaine Makes Me Feel Like I'm On This Song, Cigaro, Bounce, Bubbles, Chic 'N' Stu, Violent Pornography, and a couple of other songs I've probably missed, I'm sure.

System of a Down's wackiness and absurd lyrics probably do appeal to stoners, so I'm not surprised if stoners listen to their music.

  2. Snoop Dogg

Cordozar Calvin Broadus Jr. (born October 20, 1971), known as Snoop Dogg, is an American rapper, actor, record producer, and television personality from Long Beach, California. He first achieved fame in 1992 on Dr. Dre's debut solo single Deep Cover and the album The Chronic. Snoop has since sold over... read more

Aside from being known for the smoke weed every day meme, a lot of his music probably does appeal to stoners. This doesn't surprise me, and his number one spot, while predictable, is completely warranted.

If you're high, his music is probably already on your radar to begin with.

  3. Pink Floyd

Pink Floyd are an English progressive rock band formed in 1965 in London, England. While their music isn't just for stoners, I wouldn't be surprised if stoners also listen to their music. Comfortably Numb, for instance, has been assumed to be about drug use, so it wouldn't surprise me if stoners dig their music as well.

Their music was always the favorite of stoners.

  4. Nirvana

Nirvana was an American grunge band formed in Aberdeen, Washington, in 1987. The band consisted of Kurt Cobain (vocals, guitar), Krist Novoselic (bass), and Dave Grohl (drums), who joined in 1990. Nirvana disbanded following Cobain's death by suicide in 1994.... read more

A lot of their nonsensical lyrics probably do appeal to stoners in some capacity. Krist Novoselic even referred to the members of the group as pothead philosophers, so their inclusion makes sense as far as I'm concerned.

Plus, Negative Creep alone is a very kinda out-there song.

  5. The Doors

The Doors were an American rock band formed in Los Angeles in 1965, comprising vocalist Jim Morrison, keyboardist Ray Manzarek, guitarist Robby Krieger, and drummer John Densmore. One of his songs is called Must Be the Ganja, a slang word for marijuana, so stoners have probably listened to his music before. A lot of his songs include references to drugs, especially his earlier music, so I'd say including Eminem is also valid.

Andre Romelle Young (born February 18, 1965), known professionally as Dr. Dre, is an American rapper, record producer, and entrepreneur. This was an artist I knew I was going to include, especially given how one of their songs is called Wavin' My Dick in the Wind. So, their position just makes sense, and I knew from the get-go I had to include them on this list without question.
