Top Ten Music Artists People Hate Because They Think It's Cool to Do So

Remember when you were listening to the radio and that song came on you hadn't heard before and you thought to yourself, "This song is pretty catchy. I think I like it... I wonder who it is." Only to find out it was Miley Cyrus, or Justin Bieber? Of course you can't like them or their music, what would your friends say?

This list isn't saying these artists are good or bad, but it IS saying that people are often told what their opinions will be before they actually make them up for themselves. Whether people are swayed by peer pressure or just jumping on the bandwagon, if they are making value statements about a music artist without giving them (and their music) a fair chance, based solely on the opinions of others, then those statements need to be taken with a grain of salt.

It's time to make up your own minds. You may decide the artist truly IS crap, or you might decide to stand up for your opinion even if it's unpopular. One thing is for sure though: nobody thinks a person who can't make up their own mind is cool.
The Top Ten
1 Justin Bieber Justin Drew Bieber (born March 1, 1994) is a Canadian singer, songwriter, and record producer. He currently resides in Ontario, Canada and is Christian. He is the son of author Pattie Mallette. ...read more.

it's ridiculous how annoying and immature all these users insulting him are, they literally think they're cool, you're saying? This makes them look like idiots. Out of all the people who say they hate Bieber on this website, only 5% of them have a genuine and intelligent reason. The others? Not so much.

Social Media.
Did it happen to Aaron Carter, Jesse McCartney, S Club Juniors...NO
Because of social media he gets the hate because people think it's cool to do so.

Can we just agree once and for all that we all hate him for the same reason, so we don't need to go and convince everyone that he's terrible anymore?

He is actually a good singer, the hate he's gotten is truly unnecessary. He isn't awful, he's perfectly fine.

2 Nickelback Nickelback is a Canadian post-grunge band formed in 1995 in Hanna, Alberta, Canada. The band is composed of guitarist and lead vocalist Chad Kroeger, guitarist, keyboardist and backing vocalist Ryan Peake, bassist Mike Kroeger, and drummer Daniel Adair.

The most hated band ever, the hate on them can be really obnoxious. I think they are not as bad as people say, I don't understand why they get so much hate

I gave them a listen because I heard they were awful. I was surprised they were not that awful and I actually liked several songs, especially Burn It To The Ground - a pretty good hard rock song. Liking several songs didn't make me a fan of theirs but at least I know they aren't awful.

I really don't get why they deserve as much hate as they got. At least they put more effort into their music than most of today's pop artists who don't even write and produce their own songs.

I hate them because, as a Canadian, I'm forced to put up with hearing their music on the radio in every shop and restaurant.

3 Rebecca Black Rebecca Black is a YouTube personality and singer who's infamous for her 2011 single "Friday," which was the most disliked video on YouTube until "Baby" by Justin Bieber became the most disliked video in 2012. She has also released other songs, including "My Moment" and "Saturday".

Got way too much hate back in the day.

4 Nicki Minaj Onika Tanya Maraj, known professionally as Nicki Minaj (born December 8, 1982) is a Trinidadian/American rapper / pop music artist. Minaj is most known for her songs such as "Anaconda", "Super Bass", "Starships" and her feature on "Bang Bang". Despite her controversial songs, Brent Staples from "The New York Times" claimed her to be 'the most influential female rapper of all time', presumably distinctive for her fast flow and her use of alter egos with Cockney accent. She has endorsed Adidas, MAC Cosmetics and Pepsi. Minaj has received ten Grammy-nominations throughout her career, and has won multiple awards including the Billboard's Women in Music 2011 Rising Star award.

It depends a lot people hate her but there are also people who unironically call call her the queen of rap and the like. I am not a fan but I don't really hate her beyond a handful of songs.

She's the best, and y'all probably have only heard Stupid Hoe and Anaconda (and Only) she's very pretty, nice, she's great.

I don't hate her because of her music. I hate her because of her toxic personality.

I hate her because she is a mutated Barbie doll.

5 One Direction One Direction (commonly abbreviated as 1D) were a British-Irish pop boy band based in London, composed of Niall Horan, Liam Payne, Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, and previously, Zayn Malik until his departure from the band on 25 March 2015. The group signed with Simon Cowell's record label Syco Records after forming and finishing third in the seventh series of the British televised singing competition The X Factor in 2010. Propelled to international success by social media, One Direction's four albums, Up All Night (2011), Take Me Home, Midnight Memories and Four topped charts in most major markets, and generated hit singles including "What Makes You Beautiful", "Live While We're Young", and ...read more.

Some but not all people probably hate on One Direction because they're popular and we have social media which makes people anonymous so they take advantage that by being over confident to insult people, the same thing would've probably happened to Nsync and The Backstreet Boys in the 90s if we had social media back then.

I am not a fan but I really don't think they are that bad. At least they are nice people

They've got some cool songs though.

6 Miley Cyrus Miley Ray Hemsworth (born Destiny Hope Cyrus), known as Miley Cyrus, is an American singer, songwriter, and actress. She was born on November 23, 1992, in Franklin, Tennessee, to Tish Cyrus and Billy Ray Cyrus. Her voice type is Mezzo-Soprano and has 4 octaves. She became a teen idol starring as the character Miley Stewart in the Disney Channel television series Hannah Montana in 2006. After that Miley had numerous worldwide hits, such as ''Party in the USA'', '' We Can’t Stop'', and ''Wrecking Ball''. On December 23, 2018 she got married to Australian actor Liam Hemsworth, but they divorced shortly after.

I honestly believe that her 2013 phase wasn't because she was crazy but she was intentionally trying to shake her image as quickly as possible.

I don't like Miley yet I think that Wrecking Ball is a good song.

She has changed so much!

7 Taylor Swift Taylor Alison Swift is an American singer-songwriter. She was born on December 13, 1989 in Reading, Pennsylvania. She is best known for writing personal songs and for having won 11 Grammys. She became interested in country music when she was around 9 years old, and after watching a documentary about Faith Hill, Swift felt that she should go to Nashville to begin a country music career. She then signed a contract with RCA Records and began to write songs.

She sings about romance a lot, but she still has some really good songs.

She has lipstick on her teeth. A fashion faux pas.

8 Rae Sremmurd Rae Sremmurd is an American hip hop duo, composed of two brothers, Khalif "Swae Lee" Brown (born June 7, 1995) and Aaquil "Slim Jxmmi" Brown (born December 29, 1993). They are best known for their platinum singles "No Flex Zone" and "No Type". They are signed to Mike WiLL Made-It's label, "EarDrummer Records", which is where their band name is derived from.

No. Rae Sremmurd is the worst band ever. They are talentless teenagers who can't even bother to get a good producer or make proper songs.

Deserves the hate.

9 Iggy Azalea Amethyst Amelia Kelly, born June 7, 1990 known professionally as Iggy Azalea, is an Australian rapper, singer, songwriter, and model.

Rolling Stone named "Radioactive", which holds the record for most weeks charted on the Billboard Hot 100, the "biggest rock hit of the year".

I think Imagine Dragons are slightly overhated.

14 Eminem Eminem, born Marshall Bruce Mathers III, is an American rapper, actor and music producer born on October 17, 1972 in St. Joseph, Missouri. 19 Creed Creed was an American post-grunge band, formed in 1993 in Tallahassee, Florida. The band's best-known line-up consisted of lead vocalist Scott Stapp, guitarist and vocalist Mark Tremonti, bassist Brian Marshall, and drummer Scott Phillips.

In the years to follow, he would go on to find his own label, Young Money, where he would sign popular artists such as Drake, Nicki Minaj and Tyga, and he would go on to be one of the most popular rappers of all time. ...read more.

It's funny that people actually hate Wayne, because he's the stereotype of a modern rapper. He actually started in the 90's and the Carter 3 is on the Rolling Stone top 500 albums of all time. He might have had a bad album (Rebirth), but having classics like the Carter 1 and 2, I believe he is underrated

23 Simple Plan Simple Plan is a French-Canadian pop rock/pop-punk band from Montreal, Quebec. The band has released six albums.

They might be a bit cheesy but they aren't that bad as people say in my opinion. Their not like the Creed version of Green Day. Simple Plan in a nutshell only gets hated because some of their songs are cheesy. This band has a few songs I like: Welcome to My Life, Your Love is a Lie, When I'm Gone, Perfect, Save You, Astronaut, Singing in the Rain, Opinion Overload and Grow Up. Still though I think their seriously overhated.

Paramore doesn't deserve to be hated, and they aren't cool to hate. Why are they on this list?

Their older stuff is pretty good their newer stuff though not as good...

I like paramore
