Top 10 Most Overplayed Songs in 2021
There were lots of overplayed songs in 2021. They don't have to have been released in 2021 exactly. Maybe they were released last year, or in 2019, or something. But in all y'all's opinions, what were the most overplayed songs of 2021?
-
Levitating - Dua Lipa
DaBaby ruined it a bit. It should have been Levitating Remix feat. Black Eyed Peas and Rita Ora.
Do I even gotta say anything?
-
drivers license - Olivia Rodrigo
Yeah, this is one of the most overrated things ever. Levitating and Montero got overplayed, sure, but at least they are actually good songs. This, on the other hand, I have literally zero idea why or how it got so much praise, let alone the fact that I used to like it myself.
This is a good song, but it's really overplayed. It was released in January, and now it's August, and it already has 1 billion streams on Spotify. That's how overplayed it is.
Olivia is decent, but this song is super overhyped and overplayed as heck.
-
good 4 u - Olivia Rodrigo
This song is decent, but it is easily one of the most overplayed songs of 2021. I've been hearing it everywhere.
It was good at first. Then I listened to it again and again, but then it started to sound bad.
This song's good, but it was way too overplayed last year.

MONTERO (Call Me By Your Name) - Lil Nas X
Another one of those songs I have heard everywhere, especially on IG Reels and TikToks. I kinda liked it at first, but now it's pretty mediocre.
I've heard it so much to the point that it's annoying.
-
Bad Habits - Ed Sheeran
I mean, of course. Anything with Ed Sheeran is gonna get eaten up by the radio. Y'all should know this by now.
And no, I ain't saying his new music is good. It's far from groundbreaking, but he's established a loyal fan base now, so he ain't even gotta try anymore. He knows his obsessive fandom will eat it up. We see this with Drake too.
Many radio stations and others seem to refuse to stop playing this song, which is pretty annoying. Maybe it'll be as overplayed as Shape of You.
It feels like they play this song almost every hour. I find this to be one of his weaker songs.
-
Blinding Lights - The Weeknd
-
Up - Cardi B
They play songs like this?
-
Butter - BTS
Y'all attack me, idc, but I don't see the hype, ngl. It's mid. Same with PTD. Just Dynamite replicas.
-
Save Your Tears - The Weeknd
-
Peaches - Justin Bieber
Just too overplayed.
-
?
Head & Heart - Joel Corry
-
?
Heat Waves - Glass Animals
-
Mood - 24kGoldn
Overplayed in November 2020 as well.
"Why you always in a mood"
-
Kiss Me More - Doja Cat
"Can you kiss me more"
-
Abcdefu - Gayle
This song is plain immature and annoying. I want to bang my head against a wall whenever I hear it, not gonna lie. Neither the vocals nor the lyrics impressed me, and neither did the instrumental. This song sucks.
So annoying. Nobody cares about your ex.
That song is overrated anyway.
-
Stay - The Kid Laroi & Justin Bieber
Or this, and I was so annoyed with it.
-
Astronaut in the Ocean - Masked Wolf
Everybody knows this song, so.
-
Shivers - Ed Sheeran
How come nobody has added this yet, lol?
-
34+35 - Ariana Grande
-
Easy on Me - Adele
This came out not too long ago, and it already is pretty overplayed, but it's still pretty good, though.
-
Beggin - MÃ¥neskin
It's nice that there is a rock band in the mainstream now, but I have been hearing this everywhere, and it's a bit repetitive. (And yes, I know this is a cover song by someone whose name I don't know.)
-
Without You - The Kid Laroi
Every time I get in the car, the radio has to be playing this.
-
Forever After All - Luke Combs
-
Bohemian Rhapsody - Queen
Classic rock stations play this every two hours, 24 hours a day.
-
Rapstar - Polo G
-
Leave The Door Open - Bruno Mars, Anderson.Paak & Silk Sonic
-
Positions - Ariana Grande
