Best Songs from Spinal Tap's This is Spinal Tap
This Is Spinal Tap (or simply Spinal Tap) was the soundtrack to the film This Is Spinal Tap, released in 1984. The cover art is identical to that of the fictional album Smell the Glove featured in the film.
For those who don't know, Spinal Tap is a parody of rock and heavy metal groups.
Some tracks from the film are missing from the official soundtrack. These include "All the Way Home," "Lick My Love Pump," "Jazz Odyssey," "Saucy Jack," and the band's a cappella performance of "Heartbreak Hotel." "All the Way Home" later appeared on the Break Like the Wind album, while "Jazz Odyssey" and "Saucy Jack" appeared on the Back from the Dead album. "Lick My Love Pump" and "Heartbreak Hotel" have not been officially released. Conversely, the song "America" appears on the soundtrack but not in the film, except for a brief scene where Nigel and David are shown attempting to record the guitar parts.
