   That one was totally unexpected and heartbreaking. This Canadian-American actress is best known for her roles in After Hours, Beetlejuice, Home Alone 1 and 2 and Schitt's Creek.

   She also voiced characters in various animated movies such as The Nightmare Before Christmas, Chicken Little, Over the Hedge, Monster House or Elementary. She was 71. RIP (1954-2026).

   This was a huge loss for Hollywood entertainment. She was known as the mother of Kevin McCallister in Home Alone 1 and 2, and she's also known for her roles in The Nightmare Before Christmas, Beetlejuice and Schitt's Creek. She had a pulmonary embolism caused by rectal cancer. RIP (March 4, 1954 - January 30, 2026).

   This Hollywood legend was best known for his roles in To Kill a Mockingbird, The Godfather Pts. I and II, Apocalypse Now and Tender Mercies, for which he won the Academy Award for Best Actor. He died at the age of 95. RIP (1931-2026).

   He was in many movies, including The Godfather, Apocalypse Now, THX 1138, To Kill a Mockingbird, Tender Mercies, and M*A*S*H. RIP.

   Bradley Kirk Arnold was an American musician and the lead vocalist of the rock band 3 Doors Down. He was also one of the founding members of the band, which was formed in Escatawpa, Mississippi. Arnold originally served as both the band's drummer and its lead singer.

   The lead singer from 3 Doors Down just lost his battle with kidney cancer. Currently there are no original 3 Doors Down members left since Todd Harrell left the band in 2013 after being convicted for involuntary manslaughter and Matt Roberts died of a drug overdose in 2016. Brad was only 47. RIP (1978-2026).

   This is a sad loss for television. This American actor was best known for portraying Dawson Leery in the highly-successful teen drama series Dawson's Creek (1998-2003). He died from colorectal cancer at the age of 48. RIP (1977-2026).

   He needs to be much higher. No disrespect to others, but his death and Renee Good's are much sadder than Catherine O'Hara's or Robert Duvall's.

9. Oliver Tree

   

   This was a truly devastating loss for music. The artist known for songs such as Miss You, Cash Machine, Alien Boy, and Life Goes On was killed when two helicopters collided in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, killing six passengers. What's worse was that he was less than 15 days from his birthday. R.I.P. (June 29, 1993 - June 14, 2026).

   Like everyone else, I did NOT see this death coming at all. The singer, known for hits like "Alien Boy," passed away unexpectedly in a helicopter crash while on tour in Brazil. RIP.

   I did not see that coming. He was my childhood.

    Another sad loss for cinema. This actor from New Zealand who played in multiple movies and series is best known for portraying Dr. Alan Grant in the Jurassic Park franchise. He had been diagnosed with blood cancer 3 years earlier. He was 78. RIP (1947-2026).

    This was out of the blue.

    The actor known for Jurassic Park and TV shows died after recovering from cancer.

She died presumably of complications induced by an emergency intestinal surgery that put her in an artificial coma one month earlier. She was 75. RIP (1951-2026).
