    Another icon is gone. Dolly Parton was not just a country legend. She was a cultural icon in the same vein as Elvis Presley and Michael Jackson.

    Best known for songs such as "Jolene," "9 to 5," "Islands in the Stream" (a duet with Kenny Rogers), and "I Will Always Love You" (which Whitney Houston turned into a worldwide hit), she was also an activist for causes such as literacy in America.

    As the American flags will be lowered, she is now reuniting with her husband, Carl Dean, who died last year, and with her loved ones in heaven. R.I.P. Dolly. We will always love you (1946-2026).

    That one was totally unexpected and heartbreaking. This Canadian-American actress is best known for her roles in After Hours, Beetlejuice, Home Alone 1 and 2 and Schitt's Creek.

    She also voiced characters in various animated movies such as The Nightmare Before Christmas, Chicken Little, Over the Hedge, Monster House or Elementary. She was 71. RIP (1954-2026).

    This was a huge loss for Hollywood entertainment. She was known as the mother of Kevin McCallister in Home Alone 1 and 2, and she's also known for her roles in The Nightmare Before Christmas, Beetlejuice and Schitt's Creek. She had a pulmonary embolism caused by rectal cancer. RIP (March 4, 1954 - January 30, 2026).

    Less than 24 hours after Dolly Parton's passing, another legend is gone. This British actor was known for his iconic roles as Frank-N-Furter in The Rocky Horror Picture Show (1975) and Pennywise in the It miniseries (1990). He also had roles in various movies such as Annie, The Hunt for Red October, Home Alone 2: Lost in New York, and Muppet Treasure Island.

    The cause of his death has not been specified, but it's likely due to complications from a stroke he suffered in 2012 that put him in a wheelchair. He was 80. RIP (1946-2026).

    Seriously? Less than 24 hours after losing Dolly Parton, we now lose Tim Curry, also at 80 years old? The iconic actor, known as the original actor of Pennywise, as well as his roles in many other iconic films like Clue, The Rocky Horror Picture Show, and Home Alone 2: Lost In New York, just passed away after having several health issues. RIP.

    Bradley Kirk Arnold was an American musician and the lead vocalist of the rock band 3 Doors Down. He was also one of the founding members of the band, which was formed in Escatawpa, Mississippi. Arnold originally served as both the band's drummer and its lead singer.

    The lead singer from 3 Doors Down just lost his battle with kidney cancer. Currently there are no original 3 Doors Down members left since Todd Harrell left the band in 2013 after being convicted for involuntary manslaughter and Matt Roberts died of a drug overdose in 2016. Brad was only 47. RIP (1978-2026).

    Hayden Panettiere

    Hayden Lesley Panettiere was an American actress, model, singer, and activist. She was known for her roles in Heroes, Ice Princess, I Love You, Beth Cooper, Remember the Titans, and Nashville. Panettiere also advocated for animal rights and participated in efforts to end dolphin hunting in Japan.

    Yet another sad and unexpected loss for cinema and television. This actress and former child star was best known for her TV roles such as Claire Bennett in 'Heroes' (2006-2010) and Juliette Barnes in 'Nashville' (2012-2018), and for portraying Kirby Reed in the Scream franchise (2011-2023). As a child, she also had a recurring role in Malcolm in the Middle and voiced various animated characters, most notably Princess Dot in A Bug's Life (1998) and Kairi in the video game series Kingdom Hearts. The causes of her death are not known yet but man, 2026 has truly been a horrible year for former child stars. After Daveigh Chase earlier this year, now here goes Hayden Panettiere. Hayden had also published her memoirs in May, where she details her struggles as a child and an adult, including being a victim of domestic violence, substance abuse and depression. She was 36 and a few days shy from turning 37. RIP too soon (1989-2026).

    Another sad loss for TV. This actor was best known for portraying Mark Sloan, aka "McSteamy", in Grey's Anatomy from 2006 to 2012, then 2021.

    He also had recurring roles in Charmed, The Last Ship and Euphoria. He died after a short but brave fight against ALS disease. He was 53. RIP (1972-2026).

    Another sad loss for music. This Welsh singer was known for her distinctive raspy voice and for hit singles such as "Total Eclipse of the Heart", "Holding Out for a Hero", and "It's a Heartache". She died presumably of complications induced by an emergency intestinal surgery that put her in an artificial coma one month earlier. She was 75. RIP (1951-2026).

    This was a truly devastating loss for music. Bonnie Tyler died of an illness she was hospitalized for. Her biggest songs were Total Eclipse of the Heart, Holding Out for a Hero, and If You Were a Woman and I Was Your Man (which Bon Jovi interpolated in You Give Love a Bad Name and Ava Max interpolated in Kings & Queens).     This was a truly devastating loss for music. The artist known for songs such as Miss You, Cash Machine, Alien Boy, and Life Goes On was killed when two helicopters collided in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, killing six passengers. What's worse was that he was less than 15 days from his birthday. R.I.P. (June 29, 1993 - June 14, 2026).

    Like everyone else, I did NOT see this death coming at all. The singer, known for hits like "Alien Boy," passed away unexpectedly in a helicopter crash while on tour in Brazil. RIP.

    I did not see that coming. He was my childhood.
