Top 10 Biggest Problems with Stranger Things

  1. Too Many Characters

    When you have too many characters, that damages the development of the other characters, as you can't focus on them as much.

  2. No High Stakes

    In order for Stranger Things to be a proper horror show, there need to be some deaths so the viewers feel there is danger. But almost everyone was safe. If some characters had died, it would have solved the too many characters problem. There were a lot of instances where characters could have died to make the show feel scarier. Max, Nancy, and her boyfriend (I forgot the name of him because he is so boring), and Steve all had perfect opportunities to have epic deaths, but they didn't, making the show boring.

  3. Plot Holes

    The amount of plot holes here is crazy. Here are some: Max was blind but then magically gained her vision back. Will, despite being mind-tied to Vecna, felt nothing when, spoiler alert, Vecna died. And Nancy killed multiple soldiers yet got away scot-free from the military. Maybe they have an explanation, but we haven't gotten one from what I've seen.

  5. Vecna Not Being Threatening Enough

    This is tied to number 3. Personally, I find Vecna to be a more interesting villain than the Mind Flayer, which is not a popular opinion. However, he was ruined by not killing any main character. When he talked to Will face-to-face, he just walked off instead of killing him, even though he knows he can spy on him. This doesn't feel threatening at all, and instead, it feels like goofy writing.

  6. Eleven Only Caring about Mike

    I liked Eleven when she was introduced. She was mysterious and cute, and she also showed deep care for her friends. But in the later seasons (especially season two), she acts like a whiny brat who fell in love with Mikey for seemingly no reason other than him being nice to her and simping for her.

  7. Mike

    This character ruins the characters around him. He made Eleven a whiny, love-struck brat, and turned Will into a gay simp and nothing more. Having too many characters is bad enough, but having them be one-dimensional because of another character is even worse!

  8. The Fake Deaths

    They were annoying. The Duffers basically tried to make the viewers cry without actually doing anything to the characters. That's pretty jerky of them, imo.

  9. Plot Elements That Were Only Shown in the Theater Play

    We can't watch the Stranger Things theater play online, so having elements from it in the show, for example, the stone in the briefcase, is unfair.

  10. Characters Explaining What's Going On

    Watching the characters, for example, Robin, take a random item, put it on the table, and give a long, nerdy monologue was quite bizarre in and of itself, but having multiple of them do the exact same thing was even more absurd. The fun in mysterious plots is to let the viewers piece the puzzles together themselves and theorize, so when characters solve them in detail, it takes away from the viewers. This is another fun thing that the new seasons ruined.
