Top 10 Children's Games that Could Be in Squid Game

Squid Game Season 2 has premiered, and Season 3 has been announced for release in mid-to-late 2025. Season 2 has been nothing short of a viral sensation, just like the first season.

We see the return of Gi-Hun, or Player 456, from Season 1, reentering the deadly games. With Red Light, Green Light being the only game returning from Season 1, this season introduces almost entirely new games. Some of these include the Six-Legged Pentathlon and the particularly intriguing game Mingle.

This raises the question: what other new games could appear in future seasons? Let's discuss.
The Top Ten
Simon Says

Imagine this game being played in the Red Light, Green Light room, where the giant doll is giving out commands. In this game, players must follow the commands given by "Simon" - in this case, the giant doll. However, players must only follow commands where she says "Simon says." If she gives a command without saying "Simon says," players must not follow it.

Anyone caught doing the incorrect command would be eliminated.

Duck Duck Goose

This is a game where players sit in a circle, and one player is selected at random as "it." That player must walk around the outside of the circle, tapping each player on the head and saying "duck." Then, at random, they must tap someone and say "goose" instead. At that point, the selected player must run and try to beat the "it" player back to the open spot in the circle.

The loser is eliminated, and a new player is chosen to be "it." I can only imagine how scary this game would get.

Dodgeball

A game like dodgeball would work well in Squid Game. Players would be divided into teams, likely groups of around 10-20 players, and the game would function like Tug of War in Season 1.

In this game, players would play until one team is left standing, and the other team would be eliminated. This game would be best suited for an early-round scenario where a large number of players are eliminated.

Hot Potato

In this game, players would pass around an object or multiple objects, likely a ball of some sort, for a random duration of time, usually while sitting in a circle. After a certain amount of time, any player who has the object in their possession would be eliminated.

The unpredictability of this game would almost certainly make it intense and impossible to strategize for. Basically, this game functions like Musical Chairs.

The Floor is Lava

This is something that almost every child has played at some point, often using pillows and cushions as safe platforms in the living room while trying to move around without touching the floor. While this isn't an official "game," it would be easy to turn it into one.

It would function very similarly to the Season 1 game, Glass Stepping Stones. Basically, players would traverse an obstacle course from point A to point B while avoiding the "lava."

Tag

Tag is a common game where someone is declared "it" and has to tag another player, thus making them "it," and so on, at least in the basic version of the game. There are multiple ways to play this game, and it can be played with any number of players, which would make it a good pick for Squid Game.

In this version, the guards would likely be the "taggers," and everyone else would have to avoid being tagged by them. There would most likely be a time limit. This game would test players' speed and agility as they try to avoid the guards at all costs.

Hide and Seek

This game would absolutely work. Players would be taken to a predetermined area and given a certain amount of time to "hide." Once that time is over, the guards would start looking for the players.

The object of the game is obviously to avoid being found for the duration of the time period. This game would need a time limit and clearly defined boundaries to set the hiding area. It could easily become one where a large number of people are eliminated.

Red Rover

This is one I could definitely see happening. Players would be divided into two teams, linking arms. At random, one team would be selected to say, "Red rover, red rover, can [insert player number] come over?" At that point, the selected player would have to run over and attempt to break the other team's chain.

If successful, they would survive. If not, they would be shot.

Musical Chairs

Musical chairs is a game where chairs are arranged in a circle while players stand around the outside of the circle. Music is played, and players must move around the circle. Once the music stops, players must find a chair to sit in. There should always be one more person in the group than available chairs, thus eliminating someone every round.

This is plausible, considering that Mr. Beast implemented this game in his video where he hosted his own recreation of the Squid Games. This game is somewhat luck-based but also requires players to have quick reflexes.

The Newcomers

? Go Fish
? Rock, Paper, Scissors
The Contenders
Infection
Knockout

This is a basketball game involving at least two players and two basketballs. The first player shoots the ball from a predetermined distance, such as the free throw line, and then the second player shoots the ball from the same distance. If your feet are in front of the line while you're shooting, you are eliminated. The goal is to make your shot before the person behind you makes theirs.

Once you make your shot, the ball is passed to the next player in line. If you've ever played this game, you know how competitive it can become.

This game would have three levels: first the free throw line, then the three-point line, and finally half court. This game would require players to perform well under pressure and be fast on their feet to get rebounds.
